It's official: I found another band I like: Iron Maiden

Here's one I never thought I'd listen to, lol. Iron Maiden.

I never had anything against them; just never knew what kind of music they did. While watching them perform at the 2011 Sonisphere festival in England, which was on TV, my stepdad pointed out that their song "The Trooper", which most dedicated Maiden fans know as the song that singer Bruce Dickinson sings while wearing a Revolutionary War-era British Army jacket and waving the British flag (Union Jack) around was the song used as the theme on the 11 part VH1 Classic documentary Metal Evolution. After listening to that song, I definitely have to say I like it, along with that song "Flight of Icarus". That was actually the first song of theirs I heard that I sort of like. I heard it on an internet music game.

Random post of the day: Pics of Glenn Tipton

After checking out his Edge of the World album, I have to say I'm honestly amazed at his music. I never knew he could sing. He sounds very handsome when singing and is a very good singer, definitely different than the resident Judas Priest Metal God Rob Halford, but awesome in his own way. And to be honest, I only found out he had a solo career after reading Judas Priest: Heavy Metal Painkillers, a biography of one of the bigger names in metal. Here are some random pics of Glenn, who my sister seems to think is cute, even today, lol. Even I have to admit he's still handsome. He might have wrinkles, but no one stays young forever. The fact that he's still rail thin as always and still fits into leather pants and is still rocking with Priest: can you say awesome?

This is strange seeing Glenn with facial hair :O

Aww, how adorable

Very handsome

Looking very nice for his age :D

Rocking with the Metal God

This is something you'll never see Glenn do now: appear bare chested

I have this picture as my wallpaper at work. Every time someone sees it, they constantly ask me "Who's that? He's kind of cute". Hahahahahahaha!

Book Review: The Auschwitz Escape by Joel C. Rosenberg

If you are into historical fiction and you are interested in the history of the Holocaust, this might interest you.
Summary
-The Holocaust is in full swing and Adolf Hitler and his regiment of Nazis begin putting the final touches on the "Final Solution". Anyone who is considered to be non-Aryans (blond hair and blue eyes, known as the Master Race) will be rounded up and sent to labor and death camps spread throughout Europe. And for Jacob Weisz, who is Jewish and living in Germany with his family, they are some of those "non-Aryans".

-Meanwhile, in France, Jean-Luc Leclerc is an assistant pastor at a small parish in the French countryside. One day, a Hasidic Jewish family shows up at the door of his house where he and his wife live. Suddenly, Jean-Luc finds himself in the unwitting position of hosting Jewish families fleeing from the Holocaust. Suddenly he and other pastors in the French countryside begin saving these families. Jacob manages to join an underground resistance movement that his uncle Avi runs. These rebels are trying to make their way to Budapest to spread the word of the evil that Hitler has in mind for the Jewish of the world. One night, when trying to intercept a train of Hungarian Jews heading to the most notorious of the Nazi camps, Auschwitz, Jacob frees them but gets trapped in the boxcar instead.

-While in the car, he meets an older man who tells him to shed his old identity if he plans to survive. Over time, he and this older man create a sort of father-son bond. As time goes on, Jacob begins to realize just what Auschwitz and the dozens of other camps were created for- the total extermination of the Jewish race. When in camp, Jacob starts to befriend the French pastor Jean-Luc, who goes by Luc and they hatch a plan to make one of the most bold, daring moves in history-escape from Auschwitz.

Kids getting detention for the strangest things

These kids get detention for things that can only make you laugh. If you're having a bad day, these detention notices will surely get those laughter-induced tears rolling! Plus, some of these kids are brilliant!! And besides, sometimes you just need a good laugh...

1.
Reason: Disrupting class by standing, unbuttoning his shirt to reveal a Superman T-shirt and announcing he was Superman
2.
Reason: Stapling students' clothing together
3.
Reason: IM conversations w/other male students about 'Hide and Go Poop' game (a poop contest)

4.
Reason: "I'm gonna twerk on you at Homecoming. You better tip me. I ain't shakin' this booty for free."

5.
Reason: Caught Lucas searching "boobies" while other students were overlooking at the photos

6.
Reason: Michael finished his group work early, so he took a laptop (without permission) and began looking at pictures of pugs

7.
Reason: another student made the comment "you need to push it in further" and another added "That's what she said"
8.
Reason: Physical disruption. Leaping with intent to fly
9.
Reason: Threw a lamp at another student and told him to "Lighten the f--- up!"
10.
Reason: Lucas entered the café in a rolling office chair. He was told by a monitor to return it to the journal office. He pushed it with his feet out the door very fast. A few minutes after he ran into the café with a mask on his face holding a sign saying "occupy the cafeteria"
11.
Reason: Taking off shirt in the middle of class and yelling "Come at me, bro!" at another student
12.
Reason: Broke into school and put car in hallway
13.
Reason: Pooping on fellow students for money. (Can someone say hepatitis city?)
14.
Reason: Drawing a chicken with male anatomical parts and displaying it in class. (This sounds like something my sister would do. And then brag about it)
15.
Reason: Telling a student he can find his pencil up his a**
16.
Reason: Dropped the f bomb on a girl that wasn't nice to her friend (Wow, if this is not the most pathetic thing ever. Such drama with high school girls)
17.
Reason: Constant disruption. Corrected many times. Said "My grandmother has a UTI infection"
18.
Reason: Horseplaying with a student named Tim. It appeared he was "twisting Timmy's nipples"
19.
Reason: Jamming pencil into electric socket. (What is the fascination with high school and middle school age kids jamming crap into electric sockets? I hope they know what happens when you mix electric with metal! I had classmates in high school and middle school who would do this all the time for giggles. They'd steal forks and knives from the cafeteria and stick them into the nearest electrical socket, probably hoping to blow the power and go home early from school)
20.
Reason: Noah asked the substitute teacher "Have you ever smoked pot?"
21.
Reason: Student asked to watch the Olympic Ice Hockey game. I said "No", he said "You're a Communist, Communist, Communist". Inappropriate speech
22.
Reason: Kevin defied a direct instruction from a teacher while on a City Journey excursion. He was told to go straight to the train station. But instead he chose to stop in a 7-11 to purchase a Slurpee. (This kid is pure GENIUS)
