-During NBC's A Concert for Hurrican Relief, rapper Kanye West attacks President George W. Bush, calling him a racist, saying that he didn't care about black people

2004
-R&B singer Ciara hits #1 spot with song Goodies
-Imprisoned rapper Shyne sends fax to MTV protesting his prison's Taliban phone rules

2003
-Country singer John Anderson is released from a West Virginia hospital following a heart attack
-Fortune Magazine lists Sean 'P-Diddy' Combs as richest entertainer in their 40 Under 40 list of multi-millionaires
-Punk rockers The Clash recieve a Lifetime Achievment Award at GQ Men of the Year Awards in London, England

2000
-Many fans leave an Oregon Def Leppard concert disappointed. The band was said to have played too quietly because of local noise ordinances.
-Destiny's Child member Angie Stone and Mary J. Blige take two statuettes at 6th annual Soul Train Lady of Soul Awards, while Tony Braxton picks up Aretha Franklin Award for Entertainer of the Year.

-Teddy Pendergrass proves how much of a ladies man he is by giving a Ladies Only concert at New York's Avery Fisher Hall. He gives everyone in the audience a white chocolate lollipop in the shape of a teddy bear

-500 ticketless fans try to get in to see Jefferson Starship and The Doobie Brothers at Syracuse's Great American Music Fair. 60 people are arrested

-Gilbert O'Sullivan is at #1 still with hit Alone Again(Naturally). At #2 is The Hollie's hit Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress.

-The Rolling Stones sue their former managers Andrew Loog Oldham and Eric Easton, accusing them of withholding royalties from them during their time on Decca Records.
-Grateful Dead manager Lenny Hart is arrested and charged with embezzling $70,000 from the band.

-Genesis runs an ad for a drummer in the English-based magazine Melody Maker. Phil Collins encourages them to hire him by saying he played music with George Harrison

1965
-The Rolling Stones appear on British TV's Ready, Steady, Go! Mick Jagger and Stones manager Andrew Loog Oldham do a skit where they duet Sonny and Cher's I Got You Babe.
-The Beatles release Yesterday, which becomes one of the most played records in the world.
