Early life
-Born in LA to actor James Caan and Sheila Ryan, an actress and former model. His paternal grandparents were Jewish immigrants from Germany.

Career
-He was a roadie for the rap groups Cypress Hill and House of Pain.
-Began acting in the late 1990s, with his first major role being that of Charlie Tweeder, a reckless Texas football player in Varsity Blues(1999). In 2000, he starred in Ready to Rumble opposite David Arquette, Boiler Room opposite Vin Diesel, American Outlaws in 2001 opposite Colin Farrell, which Caan played outlaw Cole Younger.
