Early Life
-Son of Mary, who worked a barber part time and Angelo Pesci, a forklift driver for General Motors and as a bartender.
-By the time he was 5 years old, Joe was appearing in plays in New York.

Career
-First film role: 1975 low budget crime thriller The Death Collector with Frank Vincent
-In 1980, he was asked to play Joey, Jake LaMotta's childhood friend in Raging Bull opposite Robert De Niro
-Received an Academy Award for his role in the 1990 Mafia classic Goodfellas
-On Oct. 10, 1992, hosted Saturday Night Live. When he found out that Sinead O'Connor had torn apart a picture of Pope John Paul II, he got even by tearing a picture of her into pieces, with loud, happy applause from the audience




-Later in 1990, he starred as Harry Lyme, a bumbling burglar in Home Alone.
-In 1992, he played Brooklyn lawyer Vincent Gambini in My Cousin Vinny

Personal Life
-Married Claudia Haro from 1988-1992. Has a daughter named Tiffany from this marriage. In July 2007, Pesci, who was 64, became engaged to Angie Everhart, 37.
-Is an avid New York Yankees fan
