See how some of your favorite bands break up
Van Halen vs. Sammy Hagar
-First it was Steven Tyler-like front man David Lee Roth, then along comes a more relaxed, hard working guy named Sammy Hagar
-Hagar quit in 1996 and Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony joined up with the new band Hagar formed, called Chickenfoot. They regularly launch verbal attacks at Van Halen
-The band was mad at Roth for using only his ideas for album covers and had also grown sick of his annoying egotistical stage persona
The Beatles
-Paul McCartney broke many hearts when he announced his decision to leave the band in 1970. That eventually got John Lennon and Paul McCartney writing songs on their own, with the songs secretly insulting the other
The Allman Brothers
-Gregg Allman kicked out guitarist Dickey Betts in 2000, calling Betts a controlling "bully", even though he helped Gregg through the death of his twin brother Duane and bassist Berry Oakley
The Eagles
-Glenn Frey recalled that during a 1980 show, him and guitarist Don Felder nearly started to duke it out. Frey recalls "We're onstage, and Felder looks back at me and says 'Only three more songs till I kick your ass, pal'. And I'm saying 'Great, I can't wait.'. We're out there singing 'Best of my Love' but inside both of us are thinking 'As soon as this is over, I'm gonna kill him'"
Creedence Clearwater Revival
-The band started falling apart in the early 1970s, when John Fogerty started taking over for musical direction
Styx and Dennis DeYoung
-Attempted to reunite for time #3 in 1996
-He asked for a delay in touring as he was suffering from some kind of condition.
Pink Floyd vs. Roger Waters
-The group split in 1983
-But David Gilmour and Nick Mason decided to reunite, leaving front man Roger Waters out of it
Black Sabbath vs. Ozzy
-Known as the pioneers of metal, these guys started getting a little annoyed of each other in the 1980s. The band's heavy drug and alcohol use was making things foggy and cloudy and that in the 1970s, band members were barely talking to each other
-Years later and also more clean and sober, the band reunited sans drummer Bill Ward
Guns N' Roses
-Almost like a divorce
In 1987, Steven Adler was booted from the band for heavy substance abuse and a few years later Izzy Stradlin and Slash left the band because of fights with front man Axl Rose over creative direction
