-British newspaper Sun posts its first pin-up girl on pg 3 (Stephanie Rahn)
-Rolling Stones left England for France to avoid taxes and also to produce what would become their Exile on Main St. album
-Samuel Lee Gravely Jr. becomes the first black admiral in U.S. Navy
-Rolling Stones release "Brown Sugar", which was written exclusively for Mick's then girlfriend, Marsha Hunt
-A Clockwork Orange, one of the first movies to receive an X-rating, premiers
-"Bloody Sunday": British Army soldiers open fire on Catholics in Londonderry, 13 die. This is the basis for the U2 song "Sunday, Bloody Sunday"

-Kiss plays first show at the Coventry Club in Queens, New York (1973)
-Roe vs. Wade: Surpreme Court legalizes first and second trimester abortions
-Queen Elizabeth II opens new London Bridge. I can't imagine that the Brits are too happy knowing that there is a nursery rhyme out there that goes "London Bridge is falling down..."
-A U.S. psychiatrist declares that homosexuals are not mentally ill for their sexual orientation

-Monty Python's Flying Circus airs final episode
-John Lennon releases his cover of the Ben E. King hit "Stand by Me"
-Mick Jagger punches restaraunt window for some odd reason, gets 20 stitches (1975)
-Alice Cooper, shock rock master, falls off stage in Vancouver and breaks 6 ribs
-Pine Ridge Riot. Leonard Peltier, a Native American activist, is convicted of the murder of 2 FBI agents
-Ronnie Wood joins the Rolling Stones (1975)
-Scientists discover a new bacterium thought to cause the mysteriously rare Legionnaire's Disease
-David Berkowitz, aka The Son of Sam killer, pleads guilty to 44 caliber shootings (1977)
-Beverly Hills Supper Club Fire (1977). This historic nightclub in Southgate, Kentucky catches fire and 164 people die form their injuries and soon the injuries go to 165 people dying from the ravages
-Marvel Comics publish "Kiss" comic book, tributing heavy metal band Kiss (1977)
-Serial killer Ted Bundy escapes prison and is recaptured in Pensacola, FL (1978)
-ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) is launched
-Mick Jagger apologizes for racist lyrics in "Some Girls" (1978)
-Sex Pistols bassist Sid Vicious is charged with the murder of his girlfriend Nancy Spungen
