-4 city guys: Lewis Medlock, who is a leader type, laid back Ed Gentry, slight know it all Bobby Trippe, and curious Drew Ballinger, decide to go on a camping and canoeing trip on the Cahulawassee River before a giant dam is put there. Everything goes fine until they run into backwoods country and a couple of moonshine-making rednecks who sexually assault one of them. They now fight to survive and also keep their friendship intact
