Top 10 Rockstars Kicked Out of Their Bands

Here are 10 rockstars who have been "relieved" of their duties in music

10
Dave Evans
-AC/DC
-As the song says "It's a long way to the top, if you wanna rock and roll". For this guy, it was a pretty short way. As the original lead singer of AC/DC, before Bon Scotts' time, he was only with the band for a year before being replaced by Scott in 1974

Pete Willis
-Def Leppard
-When the band was recording Pyromania, he found himself without a band. It was allegedly because of his alcohol abuse, and he was replaced by Phil Collen. And also, second guitarist Vivian Campbell endured his own firings, getting fired from Dio and Whitesnake

Pete Best
-The Beatles
-Due to his good looks and popularity, it's thought he was fired from The Beatles in 1962 because he made the other band members jealous. It was actually manager Brian Epstein who fired him and replaced him with Ringo Starr

7
Steven Adler
-Guns N' Roses
-Struggling with drug addiction, Adler was booted from the band in 1990, while the band was recording their "Use Your Illusion" album. After 20 years, he blamed the band for letting him go, only to realize he was letting them down. He holds no grudges against them for it, he probably thinks they did it to help him get clean and sober

6
Jon Anderson
-YES
-In 2008, health scares kept Jon Anderson off the road. It ended in the cancellation of a 40th anniversary tour. After a short amount of time, he was replaced by Benoit David, a young guitarist taken from a Canadian YES tribute band
5
Steve Smith, Ross Valory
-Journey
-When Steve Perry left, that's not surprising. He injured his hip while hiking and the band decided to move forward and find a replacement singer since they did not want to wait around for him to decide when to get his hip surgery. When drummer Aynsley Dunbar started butting heads with Perry, he was replaced by Steve Smith, and later he and Ross Valory were fired and American Idol judge Randy Jackson covered bass guitar for a while

Dennis DeYoung
-Styx
-After he band reunited in the mid 1990s, it was either Dennis DeYoung left Styx or he was fired

3
Jason Newsted
-Metallica
-Known as the "New Kid", he endured a hazing ritual only native to Metallica, that now would seem pretty harsh. When he was told he could work on outside musical projects, he left

2
Michael Anthony
-Van Halen
-Even though David Lee Roth became the front man for Van Halen once again, it's hard to understand why Michael Anthony did not join back up. After Sammy Hagar left the band, Anthony started hanging around with Hagar, which really ignited a fire between him and Eddie Van Halen

1
Ozzy Osbourne
-Black Sabbath
-Due to his heavy drug and alcohol use, he was let go from the band in 1979 after bandmates, namely Tony Iommi, had enough of his typical rockstar behavior. The straw that broke the camel's back, so to speak, was when Osbourne missed a show in Nashville, after he was drunk and sleeping for 24 hours. Drummer Bill Ward called him to let him know of the news and he was forced to start over as a solo artist, which seems to have done him pretty well
