Dee Snider
Dee Snider and the band he's with, Twisted Sister, ended up on the wrong side of Al Gore's wife Tipper Gore's group, P.M.R.C or Parents Music Resource Council, which started the trend of slapping albums with explicit lyrics with parental advisory labels. But, this has happened to all heavy metal bands, such as KIS getting labeled 'Nazis in disguise' or Judas Priest getting the heat for two kids offing themselves listening to their song "Better By You, Better Than Me" because it supposedly contained lyrics egging them to kill themselves.
Back in the '80s, Tipper Gore went after Twisted Sister because of the bad lyrics. Because of this "council" you now see parental advisory stickers on albums with explicit lyrics. And because a Twisted Sister album had sexually explicit lyrics, these guys went under the bus. Tipper Gore and her PMRC attacked a lot of heavy metal and hard rock bands because of that.
During this little trial, Snider poured out his heart, saying he takes his kids to church and that they believe in God, that “Al, a) I’m still married, and b) none of my kids have been busted for possession. So don’t throw stones.”
