20 facts you may not know about Motorhead

For you Motorhead fans out there, you probably think you know everything about Lemmy and Co. Let's see if you truly know everything about Motorhead.

-"Motorhead" was not only not the first song he wrote for the soon to be legendary heavy metal band of the same name. It was also the last song he wrote with his previous band Hawkwind. It was the B-side to the band's 1975 single "King of Speed"

-Lemmy worked backstage when he couldn't be out on the stage. He worked as a roadie for Jimi Hendrix, lugging their gear around and managing Emerson, Lake & Palmer

-1979's Overkill album is where Motorhead really found their fame. The album art is as iconic as the album itself. Created by Joe Petagno, it remains one of the most popular album covers to this day

-Despite his immense use of drugs or alcohol, Lemmy wrote the song "Dead Men Tell No Tales" about Jimmy Miller, who produced the album Bomber. He was battling heroin addiction during production

-The band's song "Dancing on Your Grave" helped inspire the name for one of Brazil's most popular heavy metal bands Sepultura. After translating the song's title, the band liked the translation. Sepultura means grave in Portugese
