20 facts you may or may not know about Motorhead

Since the sad loss of both drummer "Philthy" Phil Taylor and bassist/frontman Ian Fraser Kilmister, better known as simply "Lemmy" of Motorhead within a month of each other last year, I think it would be fitting to do something related to Motorhead, in honor of these kind, loving, but hard rocking men. Here's 20 facts you may or may not know about Motorhead.
1
-"Motorhead" was not only the last song he wrote with his previous band Hawkwind; it was also the first song he used for the band of the same name with which he's famous

2
-When Lemmy couldn't get out onto a stage to perform, he took the next best alternative: working in the backstage crew, working for musicians. He did some stints working as a road manager for Emerson, Lake & Palmer and lugging the equipment for the Jimi Hendrix Experience
Wow, he's very handsome here
3
-Motorhead really hit it big with 1979's Overkill. The album cover is amazing and was designed by artist Joe Petagano, who designed it in less than two weeks
4
-"Dead Men Tell No Tales", from the band's Bomber album is about that album's producer Jimmy Miller, who was battling heroin addiction at the time
5
-When the song "Ace of Spades" was featured in the soundtrack for Rock Band 2, the lyrics were changed to reflect Lemmy's apparent immortality

6
-Drummer "Philthy" Phil Taylor was a reckless guy. He sustained a broken neck while drunkenly joking around on tour and instead of getting it repaired, he simply ignored it. An orange-sized lump developed on his neck as a result
7
-"Dancing on Your Grave" helped inspire the name Sepultura, one of Brazil's top names in thrash metal, since in Portugese "sepultura" means "grave"
8
-For the making of the band's video for "Killed by Death" in 1984, a stuntman was on the Harley Davidson that "Lemmy" drove through walls and walked out
9
-Michael Burston, aka "Wurzel", who joined the band in 1984, earned his nickname from a walking, talking scarecrow character while in the Army, which heavily appealed to Lemmy's love of military history
10
-Phil Campbell, who now plays guitar with Motorhead, started out in the NWOBHM band Persian Risk

11
-The demonic-looking train with the band's logo on the front of Orgasmatron represents the album's original title, "Ridin' with the Driver"
12
-Ed Stasium, who often worked with The Ramones, was supposed to produce the band's 1916 album, but was fired by Lemmy after he was caught trying to overdub Latin percussion onto the album without the band's consent
13
-"You Better Run", from 1992's March or Die, was changed to "You Better Swim" for an episode of SpongeBob SquarePants

14
-Howard Benson produced four of Motorhead's albums: 1993's Bastards and ending with 1998's Snake Bite Love

-Mikkey Dee is Motorhead's longest running drummer, who happens to be from Sweden. He is also of Greek descent, with his full birth name being Micael Kiriakos Delaoglou
16
-In Oct. 2001, Motorhead made a cameo on The Drew Carey Show, playing a song called "Sorry"

17
-Guitar legend Steve Vai makes an appearance on 2004's Inferno, specifically on the songs "Terminal Show" and "Down on Me"
18
-The coat of arms featured on the front of the Motorizer album depicts symbols representing each of the band members. The three lions represents England's Three Lions for Lemmy, Sweden's Three Crowns for Mikkey Dee, the Welsh Dragon for Phil Campbell, the Snaggletooth for the band
19
-The only album that the band's famous mascot has been absent from are 1996 Overnight Sensation and the unofficial On Parole. But this mascot is present on the front of Ace of Spades; it's just on belt buckles and jackets
Seeing Lemmy without facial hair is strange. I'm so used to seeing him with his trademark facial hair
