-Jake Gyllenhaal encouraged Jamie Lee Curtis to reprise her role as Laurie Strode because Gyllenhaal is an unofficial godson to Curtis and a family friend of hers
-This movie was released to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the original 1978 Halloween movie
-The gas station in the movie is an almost exact replica of the gas station from Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers, right down to the ice machine outside
-Michael Myers is supposed to be 61 in this film
-When kids are seen trick or treating on Halloween, there is a trio of kids wearing a witch, skeleton costume and Jack O' Lantern mask. This is a reference to Halloween 3: Season of the Witch, in which an Irish company called the Silver Shamrock company made masks with special disks in them, which came in a witch, skeleton or Jack O' Lantern design

-When Allyson mentions that Halloween is on a school night, she was right. Halloween in 2018 was on a Wednesday, a school night
-The police vehicles in the film all have Warren County written on them. Warren County is located in Kentucky and it's where Western Kentucky University is located. This is the school John Carpenter attended
-The first film in the series where Michael kills a young child
