-During an interview on the BBC program Breakfast on 2/10/2008, Bette Midler stated this was one of her most favorite films. The other being the role of Poodle in Oliver & Company.
-Sarah Jessica Parker plays a witch executed for witchcraft during the Salem Witch Trials. On the show Who Do You Think You Are?, she discovered that her 10th great grandmother Esther Elwell was arrested in Salem in the late 1600s for suspected acts of witchcraft and choking a neighbor to death. She escaped justice and that ended the Salem Witch Trials.
-The film was released in July 1993 so as not to compete with the other Halloween release of 1993, The Nightmare Before Christmas
-In front of the house where Gary Marshall was dressed as the Devil, there was a kid wearing a clown costume and Michael Myers mask
