History

-December 12, 2003: Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger receives honorary knighthood, despite no known record of charitables services or public acts

Hard to imagine how someone like Mick could be knighted


-Sept. 11, 2001: The World Trade Center is hit by 2 hijacked planes and comes crashing down, taking nearly 3,000 people to their deaths
-Dec. 26, 2004: Southeast Asian tsunami occurs following a 9.3 earthquake in the Indian Ocean, taking 290 people with it.
-Feb. 22, 2006: the 1 billionth song is downloaded off Apple iTunes, unfortunately at the expense of places like Tower Records, FYE, and anywhere else that sells CDs, records, and other music items.
-Nov. 4, 2008: Barack Obama is elected as first black president
-April 16, 2003: major breakout of SARS virus in Asia
-The year 2000 and beyond will become a literal 2nd British Invasion with the release of the Harry Potter movies into the US and also a lot of British made TV shows start airing on BBC America. Suddenly the 'Potter' craze takes America by storm and everyone knows about the Boy Wizard.
