Italian Media Stereotypes

There are dozens of stereotypes in the media against Italians.

The HBO show The Sopranos came under fire when it premiered in 1999. It showed Italians as being part of the mob

2009: When Jersey Shore premiered, it showed alot of stereotypes, such as the flirtatious exotic young women, the hot blooded young guys, the Italian Stallion looks on the guys-tall, tan and muscular. And to note as well, almost 75%+ of New Jersey is ITALIAN, you stupid Jersey Shore morons. That don't make Italians look so good.

When it comes to mob films, the people playing mobsters will almost always end up playing someone who is Jewish-Italian, Irish-Italian, they will possess a strong New York/New Jersey accent, even if they are not native New Yorkers or New Jersey-ites.

Sometimes mob life is glorified by figures like John 'The Dapper Don' Gotti or Dominic 'Sonny Black' Napolitano

There is also a stereotype about appearance, big Roman noses, dark features, dark brown/black hair, dark eyes, tan skin.
