2000+

It seems that the 2000 generation is like another literal British Invasion with the release of the Harry Potter movies into the US, more British TV becoming popular in the US with the debut of BBC America, and for the first time ever, an American show being Britain-ized, the American law show Law and Order premiering in England as Law and Order: UK

Dec. 12, 2003: Rolling Stones front man Mick Jagger receives honorary knighthood from Prince Charles despite no known record of charitable contributions or public services.

Sept. 11, 2001: World Trade Center towers are attacked by hijacked planes

Feb. 22, 2006: the 1 billionth song is downloaded off iTunes, unfortunately at the expense of places like Tower Records.
