Lead Singers

Lead Singer

-Also known as lead vocalist, they are known as the member of a band who sings the main vocal parts of a song. They may also play instruments, one or more. They can also be called frontmen/frontwomen and are usually considered to be the leader of the group. Sometimes, the lead singer may be someone other than the lead vocalist, like in the cases of The Dave Clark Five or Fall Out Boy

Bands with more than 1 featured lead singer. This makes it hard to establish a single lead singer/front man or woman
-The Beatles
-Linkin Park
-The Beach Boys
-KISS
-10cc
-Barenaked Ladies
-Pink Floyd

Other bands, in addition to the lead singer, have had other members provide vocals

-The Who
-The Goo Goo Dolls
-Styx
-The Rolling Stones
-Deep Purple
-The Cars

Bands who have changed lead singers and remained the same
-AC/DC
-Van Halen
-INXS
-Killswitch Engage

Front man
-The lead vocalist is often referred to as this. But sometimes, another member may be considered the lead singer/frontman. Like for example, in The Dave Clark Five, Dave Clark, who was the drummer, was considered the front man. Or in Fall Out Boy, Pete Wentz, bass guitarist, is the front man.
-In other bands, like Led Zeppelin, Queen or Oasis, the lead guitarist or bassist may share the roles of lead singer.
