Batman (1989)

Batman
I like this one because the Joker is actually funny

Summary
-Gotham City is a dark, dangerous, gloomy city somewhat loosely based on New York. It is 'protected' by a corrupt police department. Despite the work of D.A. Harvey Dent and Police Commissioner Gordon, the city spirals down into a rathole of crime. That is, until Bruce Wayne takes on the persona of Batman. Reporter Vicki Vale is determined to unmask who this mysterious "bat man" is. Creating mayhem is Jack Napier, an enforcer who worked for a crime boss named Carl Grissom. After he becomes horribly disfigured in a chemical accident, Napier returns as The Joker, who becomes known as the Clown Prince of Crime

Did You Know?
-Kate Capshaw, Glenn Close, Bridget Fonda, Joan Cusack, Madonna, Goldie Hawn, Anjelica Huston, Sharon Stone were all considered for the role of Vicki Vale, until it went to Kim Basinger
-Willem Dafoe, David Bowie, James Woods, Tim Curry were all considered for the role of The Joker
-The movie was released on Batman's 50th birthday
-The flag of Gotham City closely resembles the flag of Indiana. It can bee seen in Harvey Dent's office
-In the original script, the Flying Graysons (John, Mary and Dick) are all introduced in the parade scene
-The Batmobile was built from the body of a Chevy Impala
-The name Lt. Eckhardt was no surprise to the world of Batman. In the original comics, the name of Harvey Dent/Two-Face's failed plastic surgeon was Dr. Eckhardt. And by coincidence, in The Dark Knight, the actor who plays Harvey Dent/Two-Face is named Aaron Eckhardt
-In the original comics, Vicki Vale was red headed. That was due to a coloring error. It was supposed to be blonde and that is why Kim Basinger was chosen to play her in the movie
-The only Batman movie to only one supervillain from the comics
-The character Alicia Hunt was created for the movie and based on the character Circe (the Black Mask's ex-girlfriend and henchman)
