The Princess & the Frog

The Princess & the Frog
Summary
-A new age telling of the classic story of the Frog Prince. Tiana is a hard working waitress who dreams of having her own restaurant and making the Gumbo and food her dad was famous for. Prince Naveen is an arrogant, carefree prince who gets transformed into a frog during a spell by a local voodoo priest. Tiana is also transformed into a frog by this spell, and in order to break the spell and return themselves to their original forms, she must kiss the frog. Did You Know?
-The first hand-drawn Disney animation film since Home on the Range
-The first Disney movie to break the color barrier and feature a black princess
-Anika Noni Rose, who voiced Tiana, is left-handed and requested that Tiana be left-handed as well

-The alligator in the movie is named Louis, after the great jazz legend Louis Armstrong
-Though the film is supposed to take place in the 1920s, when Prohibition was in full swing, alcohol can be seen being served in Tiana's restaurant, on the riverboat, and at the La Bouff's costume ball.
-The gator who tries to eat Tiana and Naveen in the swamp is voiced by famous chef Emerial Agasse, who is famous for his Cajun and Creole food
-The animation backgrounds in the film were painted entirely with Adobe Photoshop. This is too cool; I know how to use that program!!!
-Dr. Facilier looks all too similar to the Voodoo god of magic, ancestor-worship and death, Baron Samedi. He was described as very thin, wears a top hat and tuxedo, and having a skull-like face. When he casts the spell on Naveen, you can see the skull, thus making the connection
-The symbols that float around Dr. Facilier during the song "Transformation Central" are based on actual vodou symbols
