-Credited as Black Sabbath's principle songwriter
-Left Black Sabbath in 1984, saying he was "sick of it all". He officially returned in 1991. Left again in 1994, only after recording two more albums: 1992's Dehumanizer, 1994's Cross Purposes. When he left, he created a band called G/Z/R
-Is a fan of the sci-fi TV show Doctor Who
-Got the nickname 'Geezer' (British slang for guy or dude) because he referred to everyone as a 'geezer'
-Was the main lyricist in Black Sabbath during the 1970s
-Played on all the original Black Sabbath albums from 1970-1983
