Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
-1978 "jukebox musical"
-The music was written all by The Beatles and features songs from their 1967 Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band album and their 1969 Abbey Road albums.
-This odd movie tells the story of a band messing with the music industry and fighting evil forces trying to steal their instruments and preventing them from wrecking their town of Heartland.
-George Burns narrates the lines while Beatles music helps out

-Billy Preston, who sings the song "Get Back" played the piano on the original version with The Beatles











-Steve Martin's film debut
-Aerosmith was the 2nd choice to play the Future Villain Band after KISS turned it down. They feared it would hurt their image







-The original script called for Peter Frampton to kill Steven Tyler, but when it came time to film this scene, Aerosmith threatened with walking out. "There's no f***ing way that Steven is gonna get directly offed by Frampton" said Joe Perry. "It's gotta be an accident, the way it was in the original script we f***in agreed to." So in the end, Steven's character gets accidentally pushed to his death by Sandy Farina

-During the scene of Strawberry's funeral, Frampton forced himself to cry real tears thinking about the plane crash that claimed several lives of friend and associates of his in the band Lynyrd Skynyrd.
-Alice Cooper tried at first to impersonate Lennon's vocals on the song "Because", but director George Martin told him "to do it like Alice Cooper would".

-The Bee Gees, Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb, play Mark, David and Bob Henderson, the members of the Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band
-Peter Frampton plays Billy Shears, the leader of the reformed band and grandson to the original Sgt. Pepper character
-Steve Martin appears as Dr. Maxwell Edison, a take on the Beatles track "Maxwell's Silver Hammer"
-George Burns as Mr. Kite
-Donald Pleasance as B.D. Brockhurst
-Sandy Farina as Strawberry Fields
-Diane Steinberg as Lucy(a take on Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds)
-Aerosmith as Future Villain Band
-Earth, Wind and Fire as themselves
-Billy Preston as the Sgt. Pepper weathervane
-Alice Cooper as Father Sun
-Stargard as the Diamonds

  1. The best movie to feature Alice Cooper dunking his face in a cream pie - twice! - ever made! It would be the best movie in no other category. Anyone still around who was responsible for putting this movie together should be punished.

    So - are the cream pies ready? :D
