Hugh Jackman on rumors of taking steroids for the role of Wolverine

Anyone who has seen the X-Men movies and seen Hugh Jackman as the claw-wielding mutant Wolverine will see that he's incredibly muscular. Hugh Jackman has vehemently denied taking steroids to put on that kind of muscle tone.

During a recent interview with Chris Wallace on the HBO program Who's Talking to Chris Wallace, Hugh Jackman stated he has never taken steroids to put on that kind of muscle tone. Wallace asked "Over the years, people have wondered did he juice? Did he take steroids?" Jackman answered flat out "No, I love my job and I love Wolverine. I got to be careful what I say here, but I had been told anecdotally what the side effects are of that. And I was like 'I don't love it that much.' So no, I just did it the old school way. And I tell you, I've eaten more chickens - I'm so sorry to all the vegans and vegetarians and to the chickens of the world. Literally the karma is not good for me. If the deity has anything related to chickens, I'm in trouble."

Also in the interview, he admitted he studied wolves after accepting the role of Wolverine ahead of the 2000 film X-Men. "I had never read the comic book, I got the part. I didn't really know anything about...I didn't, in Australia, we don't have wolverines. I didn't know that was a real animal. I'd never heard of a wolverine. I thought it was a made-up animal. You know, like, he's got man hands of steel, made up. And so I was passing as I was doing rehearsal at the Imax, they had this documentary about wolves. And I was like, perfect, because obviously I'm a wolf, part wolf. So I went [to set] with all these wolf moves and I was doing these moves, and the director said 'What are you doing?' And I said 'Well, I was just thinking wolves are always looking like this because they're actually smelling, they've got their nose to the ground. That's why they're looking like this all the time. And he goes 'What do you mean a wolf?' And I said 'Well, you know, Wolverine - I'm part wolf, so...' and he goes 'No, you're a wolverine'."

Hugh Jackman is bringing back his iconic role as the claw-wielding mutant Wolverine alongside Deadpool in Deadpool 3. He has to wait, however, after he concludes his Broadway run of The Music Man

Thor: Love and Thunder (2022)

The most recent addition to the series of Marvel movies concerning the famed blond, hammer-wielding Viking god

Summary

-Gorr the God Butcher is looking to make all gods extinct. Thor must team up with ex-girlfriend Jane Foster, Korg and Valyrie to stop him

Cast

-Chris Hemsworth: Thor

-Natalie Portman: Jane Foster

-Tessa Thompson: King Valkyrie

-Christian Bale: Gorr

-Taika Waititi: Korg (voice)

-Russell Crowe: Zeus

-Jaimie Alexander: Sif

-Dave Bautista: Drax (voice)

Did You Know?

-Chris Hemsworth's family appears in this film.

  • Sons Tristan and Sasha play young Thor
  • Daughter India Rose plays Gorr's daughter Love
  • Brother Luke Hemsworth plays a stag actor playing Thor
  • Wife Elsa Pataky plays a former love of Thor

-Christian Bale initially turned down another comic book film after The Dark Knight Rises. He seen the genre as uninteresting from an acting point of view. He accepted a role in this film after his kids begged him to do it

-This being the 8th time he's played Thor, Chris Hemsworth was up to his biggest physique ever. He was up to 231 pounds and said, according to his trainer Luke Zocchi, to be the heaviest he's ever been. Hemsworth's physique required him to eat 8 times a day to maintain his musculature

-Russell Crowe wanted the character Zeus to speak with a Greek accent while director Taiki Waititi wanted Zeus to speak with a British accent. Takes were done, one with the Greek accent and one with the British accent. Waititi discovered Crowe was right; the Greek accent worked best

-On Thor's vest is an image of a tree with nine orbs surrounding it. This is a representation of the World Tree of Yggdrasil. In Norse mythology, it's the depiction of the cosmos and its nine realms

-In one part, Thor wears a vest over t-shirt and jeans. This is the uniform of Thunderstrike, a superhero who inherits Thor's powers

-The title of the film was inspired by the 1980s "sword and sorcery" subgenre

-Because Natalie Portman is a vegan, Chris Hemsworth would abstain from eating meat on days where kissing scenes were to be filmed

-The movie was shot in Australia, which is the home country of Chris Hemsworth and the neighboring country of New Zealand, the home country of director Taika Waititi and Russell Crowe

-In the beginning, when Korg telling the story of Thor, Thor can be seen wearing the classic costume of the comics

-In one scene, where Jane is having nightmares about Thor's battle, she sits straight up in bed. This is eerily similar to the "November Rain" video by Guns 'N' Roses, where Axl does the same thing. In fact, Jane was listening to "November Rain" at that time

-In this film, Jane's condition was listed only as cancer. In the comic Thor: God of Thunder #12, it was listed as breast cancer

-Guns N Roses has a very prominent role in this movie. The soundtrack is predominantly Guns N Roses tracks. Teenager Astrid only wants to be called "Axl" and in one scene, a child has a poster of Guns N Roses hanging on their wall

-In the comics, Heimdall has three children: Thrall (the first serf/slave), Karl (the first churl/peasant) and Jarl (the first earl/nobleman). In the film he has a son who goes by the name Axl (formerly Astrid). He is said to represent a new generation of Asgardians

-Heimdall's teen son Astrid asks to be known as "Axl" in honor of a "rock band from Earth". This reference is to Axl Rose, front man for LA-based rock band Guns N Roses. But in Norse, "axl" means "helmet"

-In the scene where Zeus flicks off Thor's clothes, a tattoo on Thor's back can be seen. A tribute to his brother Loki, who was killed by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War (2018)

-In the storyline of the comic issue "Death of The Might Thor", very close to the film, continued use of Mjollnir was sapping what was left of Jane's strength, despite protecting her from cancer and her last transformation into the Mighty Thor would lead to her death. One difference is that in the film, Jane remained deceased while in the comics, Odin revived her so she could go to chemotherapy treatments to overcome her breast cancer

Thor: Ragnarok (2017)

The third film in the Thor series

Summary

-While imprisoned on the planet Sakaar, Thor must save Asgard from destruction at the hands of Hela

Cast

-Chris Hemsworth: Thor

-Tom Hiddleston: Loki

-Cate Blanchett: Hela

-Idris Elba: Heimdall

-Jeff Goldblum: Grandmaster

-Tessa Thompson: Valkyrie

-Karl Urban: Skurge

-Mark Ruffalo: Bruce Banner / Hulk

-Benedict Cumberbatch: Dr. Strange

Did You Know?

-Sir Anthony Hopkins was reluctant to reprise his role as Odin. But after reading the script, he changed his mind

-Prior to the destruction of the sets for 2016's Doctor Strange, director Taika Waititi used them for a scene that had been written for the movie. It featured Thor meeting Dr. Stephen Strange

-In both the Marvel comics and Norse mythology, Loki is the father of Fenris the Wolf and Hela

-This is the first time that the Incredibly Hulk is voiced by Mark Ruffalo, not Lou Ferrigno. Lou Ferrigno voiced the Hulk in 2008's The Incredible Hulk, 2012's The Avengers and 2015's The Avengers: Age of Ultron

-Cate Blanchett accepted the role of Hela to please her children. Her eldest son, Dashiell John Upton, said that it would be a good career boost

-In one scene, when Thor becomes a gladiator, his iconic long hair is cut short. In the history of ancient Roman gladiators, those chosen to become the iconic arena fighters were sent to gladiator school and had their hair cut short. Thor also wears a winged helmet, which is a nod to both the Marvel comics and Norse mythology

-On the soundtrack for this film is Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song". Led Zeppelin is often very choosy and known for rarely, if ever, allowing their music to be used in TV, films or video games. The times that their music has been used, it's been in connection with rock journalist Cameron Crowe

-Like the other Thor movies, Chris Hemsworth had to follow a strict diet to put on additional muscle weight for this film. He did this by working out almost all 7 days of the week and eating 6,000 calories a day

-While on Earth, Thor disguises his hammer, Mjollnir, as an umbrella. In the comics, while out and about in his mortal form of Dr. Donald Blake, he disguised his hammer as a walking stick

-Led Zeppelin's "Immigrant Song" was chosen to appear in the film because of its Norse mythology lyrics "I come from the land of the ice and snow / from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow / the hammer of the gods will drive our ships to new lands / to fight the horde and sing and cry Valhalla I am coming"

-To train for her role as Hela, Cate Blanchett studied the Afro-Brazilian martial art capoeira

-In one scene, where Dr. Strange leaves his business card, the address reads 177A Bleecker Street. It's accurate to the comics and similar to 221B Baker Street (the address of Sherlock Holmes, who Benedict Cumberbatch played on 2010's Sherlock). It's the real life address of Dr. Strange writer Roy Thomas

-During the scene that introduces The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum), a sort of synthesizer sound is heard. In real life, Goldblum is a highly talented pianist. He and a jazz combo band he has play semi-regular concerts at the Rockwell in Los Angeles, California

-Cate Blanchett's character Hela was the first female villain in a Marvel movie

-In both the comics and Norse mythology, Valkyrie was fair skinned, blonde, typical features from in and around Norway. In the movie, she is played by a black actress named Tessa Thompson. Director Taika Waititi said "This was not a deliberate decision to diversify the movie. It's about choosing the best person. You're working with comic book Vikings, so you have to look at the source material as loose inspiration. A character's skin tone and hair color doesn't matter. I think the story is king, and you want the best person for the job, and Tessa was the best person."

-This movie was released on the 55th anniversary of the debut of the original Thor and Incredible Hulk comics in addition to the centennial of creator Jack Kirby

-Director Taika Waititi based the character Korg on Polynesian nightclub bouncers, who didn't have to be aggressive, so they could be friendly and mild mannered

Thor: The Dark World (2013)

The second film in the Thor series

Summary

-Thor is now on a mission to save the universe from being plunged into eternal darkness and, in the process, is reunited with an old love interest, Dr. Jane Foster

Cast

-Chris Hemsworth: Thor

-Natalie Portman: Jane Foster

-Stellan Skarsgard: Dr. Erik Selvig

-Tom Hiddleston: Loki

-Anthony Hopkins: Odin

-Rene Russo: Frigga

-Christopher Eccleston: Malekith

-Jaimie Alexander: Sif

-Zachary Levi: Fandral

-Ray Stevenson: Voldragg

Did You Know?

-Unlike what he had to do in 2011's Thor, where he wore a wig, he grew his hair out to have it long for this film

-In one scene, Thor destroys a statue of Bor, his grandfather and Loki cracks a joke, saying he killed him. In the comics, Thor killed his grandfather as a result of a deception from Loki

-Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje was so impressive in doing his own stunts that director Alan Taylor let him do them instead of stunt men, who couldn't do as well as him

-For the dark world of Svartalfheim, Iceland was chosen because of its black volcanic areas. In Old Norse, svartalfheim means "Home of the Black Elves"

-The waterfalls in Asgard were based on the Dettifoss Waterfall in Iceland

-There was a lot of trouble filming at the famed Stonehenge in England. Permission had to be obtained from local historical societies. They could only be among the stones during normal visiting hours. To do this, the crew had to film early in the morning before visiting hours started. Because it was a heritage site, no one could touch the stones or walk on them

-Filming was done in Norway to give Asgard a more natural feel. Director Alan Taylor said "The first Thor was quite shiny and it was a very conscious, smart choice. I wanted to get more of a sense of the Viking quality, the texture and the weight of history. They've been around for thousands of years."

-In both Norse mythology and the Marvel universe, Einherjar are souls of the dead in Valhalla. In the film, they are guardians of the city of Asgard

-The effects of the black hole grenade were based on the effects of depth charges

-To gain the necessary amount of muscle weight, Chris Hemsworth adopted a high protein diet. But he had to keep changing it because of the filming schedule and locations

-In the scene where Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) first speaks, he is wearing blue and yellow pants. Blue and yellow are the colors of his home country of Sweden

-When Loki is in his prison cell, tossing a ball against the wall and catching it, it's a nod to Steve McQueen in The Great Escape

-This is the only Marvel movie where Loki doesn't wear his famous horned helmet

-The major fight scene in the film takes place at the Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich, England

-For his role as Fandral, Zachary Levi had to dye his hair blonde

-This is not the first time Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje played a villain. He played Lok-Nah in The Mummy Returns and meets a gory end in the film. He appeared on Game of Thrones, playing a character named Malko and also played Killer Croc in the Suicide Squad film by David Ayler

-In the post-credit scene where Thor and Jane finally kiss, Natalie Portman was not available to do the scene. Instead, Chris Hemsworth did the scene with real life wife Elsa Pataky

Thor (2011)

This is the first Marvel movie to introduce the world to the blond, hammer-wielding Viking god.

Summary

-As punishment for his arrogance, Thor is cast out of Asgard to live in Midgard (Earth), where he ends up being a protector of the people

Cast

-Chris Hemsworth: Thor

-Natalie Portman: Jane Foster

-Stellan Skarsgard: Dr. Erik Selvig

-Tom Hiddleston: Loki

-Anthony Hopkins: Odin

-Kat Dennings: Darcy Lewis

-Clark Gregg: Agent Coulson

-Colm Feore: King Laufey

-Idris Elba: Heimdall

-Ray Stevenson: Volstagg

-Tadanobu Asano: Hogun

-Josh Dallas: Fandral

-Jaimie Alexander: Sif

-Rene Russo: Frigga

Did You Know?

-The choice for the role of Thor came down to brothers Chris Hemsworth and his brother Liam. Chris found it hysterical and responded, "We both came all the way over here from Australia and ended up battling against each other." He had no ill will towards his brother and claims he was rooting for him to get the role

-In the first part of the movie, Dr. Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) mentions he had a friend who got involved with S.H.I.E.L.D. who was a pioneer in gamma radiation. This is a reference to Bruce Banner, whose experiments with gamma radiation led to him becoming the Incredible Hulk

-To prepare for his role as Loki, Tom Hiddleston had to undergo a strict diet so he would have a thin, but muscular body

-Idris Elba, who plays Heimdall, prepared for the role by reading the Thor comics where Heimdall was featured. "He's a very central character, and I wanted to reflect him as he is in the comic books", said Elba

-Chris Hemsworth underwent a massive amount of weightlifting exercises to build up the necessary amount of muscle for his role as Thor. He spent six months of trips to the gym and a diet of protein drinks, brown rice, vegetables and other protein-building foods

-What got Sir Anthony Hopkins interested in the role of Odin was the father-son relationship, despite knowing nothing about the comics or Viking mythology

-Because he was uncomfortable wearing the heavy helmet Loki is known for wearing and it was hard to see out of, Tom Hiddleston used his anger and frustration towards the scenes where Loki is in battle

-An entire town was set up as the location for this movie in Galisteo, New Mexico

-When Tom Hiddleston discovered he'd been cast as Loki, he was in a North London pub and caused an uproar by screaming out loud

-Sir Kenneth Brannaugh, who was the director of the movie, had been a huge fan of the Thor comics as a child. When Marvel Studios chose him to direct this film, they sent him the complete collection of Thor comics to use as reference material

-Tom Hiddleston trained in the Brazilian martial art of capoeira to prepare for his role of Loki

-This was Rene Russo's first film in six years. It took convincing from her daughter to take a role in this film

-When Thor's hammer Mjolnir is thrown out of Asgard and lands in New Mexico, it is reminiscent of Fantastic Four comic #536. In that comic, an apocalyptic event occurs in Asgard and as a result, Mjolnir was thrown out of Asgard, landing in Oklahoma, where it lay until Thor comes to retrieve it

-This makes highly extensive use of Norse mythology, where the whole Thor comics were based

  • The war between the Asgardians and Jotunns mirrors the Aesir-Vanir war (The Jotunns were a non-hostile group of people)
  • Odin's ravens Huginn and Muninn, who represent thought and memory, gather information from Midgard (Earth) and relay it to Odin. The ravens are sitting on Odin's throne during Thor's coronation
  • The symbol seen on Mjolnir and the weapons vault is a religious symbol called a triquetra. It's related to the valknut, a German symbol related to Odin
  • The Bifrost Bridge was thought of as a rainbow by the Norse. It's shown as a beam of rainbow light
  • The golden observatory that Heimdall is seen in is based on Himinbjorg, the place Heimdall calls home
  • A Jotun calls Thor a "little princess". This comes from a time when Thor's hammer was stolen and he had to dress as the goddess of love, Freya, to retrieve it
  • Fandral (Josh Dallas) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) describe Loki as mischievous and a liar. This is an homage to Loki's title as the god of mischief and lies
  • Thor asks for a cat to ride. Frigga (Rene Russo), Thor's mother, has her chariot pulled by two large blue cats
  • Thor shows an image to Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). This image is of a crossroad with nine orbs on it, what he considers to be the representation of Yggdrasil, a huge tree around which the nine worlds revolve, making up the universe

-When Sir Kenneth Branagh started planning this movie, he imagined it being as a twist on William Shakespeare's Henry V, which centered around a young king undergoing trials of all sorts: courting a girl from another land, fighting a war, trying to live up to the example set by his father

-When Tom Hiddleston got the role of Loki, he did massive research into the character. He wanted to make Loki multi-dimensional. He brought facets from three different actors for his role: Jack Nicholson (edgy, almost nearly insane), Peter O'Toole (enigmatic, nearly reckless) and Clint Eastwood (simmering anger)

-In the scene where Jane Foster follows Thor out of the restaurant to go to the crater site, there is a water tower seen in the distance that reads "Welcome. Home of the Vikings"

-There is a scene in the movie showing Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) doing research in the library on Norse mythology. There is an illustration of Odin walking across the Bifrost Bridge with his prized Gungnir spear and Tesseract in his hands. In 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger, The Red Skull says that the Tesseract was the main jewel of Odin's treasure room

-In the scene where Thor is attempting to recover Mjolnir, there is an agent who grabs a bow and arrow. His name is Agent Barton. This is Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), who is better known as the highly accurate archer Hawkeye. He becomes a prominent founding member of The Avengers

-Thor's nickname meant "protector of mankind" in Norse mythology. To this day, Scandinavians wear small charms that look like Mjolnir and are called "torshammare" (Thor's Hammers)

-Chris Hemsworth had bulked up so much muscle prior to the screen test that the original costume didn't fit. It had started cutting off circulation in his arms and legs when he tried it on for the first time

-One of the actors considered for the role of Thor was Alexander Skargard, because of his physical appearance

-Action coordinators experimented with different fighting styles until they found one that worked for Thor. It was based on boxing: big, powerful hip movements and low stance to the ground

-After this movie, Tom Hiddleston became a fan of comic books, especially Loki

-Three actual physicists, Sean Carroll, Kevin Hand and Jim Hartle, were brought in to provide a realistic, scientific source of information for this movie.

-About an hour into the movie, Agent Coulson (Clark Gregg) asks Thor if he ever had any Special Forces training. In real life, Hemsworth was trained by a former Navy S.E.A.L. for the role of Thor

-Other people considered for the role of Thor included Brad Pitt, WWE wrestler Paul Levesque, aka "Triple H", Daniel Craig (who was the initial choice), Charlie Hunnam (known for playing Jaxson "Jax" Teller on Sons of Anarchy).

-Tadanobu Asano, who plays Hogun, is of partial Norwegian ancestry. He felt like it was required for him to work on a film centered around Norse mythology

-When Dr. Erik Selvig (Stellan Skarsgard) is researching the history of Thor, he finds that "Thursday" is derived from "Thor's Day". In the Norwegian, Danish and Swedish languages, all of the days of the week are derived from Norse mythology. Tuesday is tirsdag (Tyr's day), Wednesday is onsdag (Odin's day), Friday is fredag (Frey's day). Sunday and Monday are Sol and Mane (the sun and moon). Saturday is lordag, derived from laugardag, or washing day

-This is only the second comic book film for Natalie Portman after 2005's V for Vendetta

-Jim Carrey and Josh Hartnett were considered for the role of Loki. Jim Carrey, however, was considered for the role initially because of his role in The Mask (1994), which references the Norse god of mischief, Loki

-Chris Hemsworth had extensive experience wielding a hammer, as he had worked as a builder in Australia for a short time

-Anthony Hopkins (Odin) improvised the loud growl at Loki prior to banishing Thor

-The town used for this film was the same modernized set used for 1985's Silverado

-Despite appearing in mostly Japanese movies based on anime and manga comics, this is the first American comic film for Tadanobu Asano (Hogun)

-Stellan Skarsgard's son Gustaf plays a descendant of Loki named Floki on the 2013 TV show Vikings

-In the scene where Thor is strapped to the hospital bed, the doctor's name is Zepfel. This is a nod to one of the production managers, Don Zepfel

-In the comics, Thor's alter ego was Donald Blake.

-Ironically, Stellan Skarsgard doesn't believe in Norse mythology, as he is an atheist

-Natalie Portman was considered for the role of Natasha Romanoff / Black Widow, but the role went to Scarlett Johansson

-This is only Ray Stevenson's second comic book film. The first was 2008's The Punisher: War Zone

-Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman both appeared in the new Star Trek and Star Wars movies. Chris Hemsworth appeared in 2009's Star Trek, playing George Kirk, father to James T. Kirk. Natalie Portman appeared in the new Star Wars movies, playing Luke Skywalker's mother

-Jamie Dornan, best known as billionaire Christian Grey in the Fifty Shades of Grey series, had auditioned for a role in this movie

-There are differences between the actual Norse mythology and this movie's version of Norse mythology

  • Odin lost an eye in battle with the Jotuns. In real Norse mythology, he gave up an eye to gain cosmic wisdom
  • In Norse mythology, Loki is Odin's adopted brother, not Thor's
  • Laufey was the mother of Loki, not the father (which is ironic given that Laufey is a popular female name in Iceland)

Day 9-What Superpower Would You Want?

This will be easy
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

For me, it would have to be either invisibility, the ability to read minds, to control the weather or incredible strength

Invisibility would be cool, like the Invisible Girl from the Fantastic Four. I could do whatever I wanted. Play harmless pranks on people. Do whatever I wanted.

The ability to read minds like Professor X from the X-Men would be awesome. I could know what people are constantly thinking.

Controlling the weather would be amazing, like Storm from the X-Men. All she has to do is control the weather with her powers and you know she is controlling the weather when her eyes go completely white. That power would come in handy a lot!!

Incredible strength like the Incredible Hulk would be useful in a lot of situations.

Judge Dredd

Judge Dredd
Summary
-In the year 2139, Earth is now a desolate, war-ridden world called the Cursed Earth. All of the people on Earth have crowded into major cities deemed Mega Cities. Because of the vast majority of crime and violence, a normal justice system is useless. In this futuristic society, three justice systems are combined to form the Judges- judge, jury and executioner. One of the most strict Judges in Mega City One, Judge Joseph Dredd, is one day framed for murder and sentenced to life in prison unless he can find out who is framing him

Cast
-Sylvester Stallone: Judge Joseph Dredd
-Armand Assante: Rico
-Rob Schneider: Herman 'Fergee' Ferguson
-Jurgen Prochnow: Judge Griffin
-Max von Sydow: Chief Justice Fargo
-Diane Lane: Judge Hershey
-Joanna Miles: Judge Evelyn McGruder
-Joan Chen: Dr. Ilsa Hayden
-Peter Marinker: Judge Carlos Esposito

Did You Know?
-The scene where Fergie mocks Dredd was improvised. It ended up being so funny that Rob Schneider made fun of the way Sylvester Stallone talked that it was kept in the movie
-Welsh rock band Manic Street Preachers were supposed to have a song in the film, called "Judge Yr'self". But after one of the band members disappeared, it was scrapped. In 2003, they finally released the song
-The costumes for this movie were designed by famous Italian fashion designer Giorgio Armani
-Sylvester Stallone had never heard of the character until he was offered the role
-The movie is based on a popular and long running British comic book character who first appeared in 2000 AD
-Director Danny Cannon fought hard to have the movie filmed in England. Not because England is the home of the character Judge Dredd, but because of the high level of film technology and film technicians in the UK

Quotes

[after Dredd has been found guilty and sentenced to life, he is transported with other convicts in a shuttle to Aspen prison. Fergee, who sits next to Dredd, is rather surprised to see him]
Fergee: Dredd?
[Dredd grabs Fergee's hand, shushing him - but a prisoner who sits behind Dredd, who has ugly scar on his right cheek, hears that]
Fergee: Don't hit me. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. Don't hurt me.
[Dredd lets go of Fergee's hand. The scarred prisoner bends forward, eavesdropping]
Fergee: [whispers] What are you doing here?
Judge Dredd: I was convicted of a crime. Wrongly convicted.
Fergee: [chuckles] Really? That's kinda weird! What are the odds? Two wrongly convicted guys sitting right next to each other?
Judge Dredd: You received the sentence the law required.
Fergee: [angrily] Five years? Just for saving my own ass? That was a mistake!
Judge Dredd: The law doesn't make mistakes.
Fergee: Really? Then how do you explain what happened to YOU?
[Dredd looks at Fergee. He has no answer]
Fergee: You can't, can you? Great. Mr. "I am the law" can't!
[the scarred prisoner draws a pocketknife from his right sock. The prisoners sitting next to him notice that, but say nothing. Using the knife, the scarred prisoner starts unlocking the metal framework which restrains him to his seat]
Fergee: So maybe this is some kind of typo. Maybe it's a glitch. Or maybe it's poetic justice!
[meanwhile, the shuttle is spotted by several lawless inhabitants of the Cursed Earth - the Angel gang]
Junior Angel: Shuttle comin'! Shuttle! Shuttle! Shuttle comin', Pa! Look!
[Pa and Link Angel approach. Junior points at the shuttle]
Pa Angel: Praise the Lord for bringing us this generous bounty. My sons... gather the harvest!
[Junior and Link rush to bring weapons]
