The Rolling Stones Are Gearing Up For Their 50 & Counting Tour

You heard it right. "The British Bad Boys" are gearing up to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
Touring might sound easy to those unfamiliar with it. But to all musicians who have done it previously know just how hard it is. There is often a lot of hard work associated with it, including very extensive physical training

“Personally, I start preparing about two months before the tour starts. So I have to up my fitness level and I have to start singing everyday, doing practices and a bit of dancing,” said Mick, who says part of his training also includes doing scales to warm up his voice and practicing his dance moves in front of the mirror

Charlie, the drummer, is the one who has to really double time on the physical preparation;  he has twice as much stuff to learn. Mick also added “The communication between me and Charlie and Keith and Ronnie, it’s really quite easy,” while Keith Richards added  “Charlie gives me a little signal, a certain little rap that he’s ready to go. Then Ronnie and I, we just pass looks at each other all the time.”

The Rolling Stones Are Touring!

Rolling Stones
On Friday, March 29, the band posted a news piece to their site reading "5 Days and Counting..." with a video of their song "Doom and Gloom". This might give anyone who listens to them hope of a massive world tour.

The official announcement will come after the Stones headline at the Glastonbury Festival this year. With the exact dates uncertain when and where they will play, one thing is for sure: tickets will not be cheap. Tickets for their 2012 shows ranged from $170-$1,836. Upon hearing this, Keith Richards was furious, saying  “I’m a bit out of the loop with showbiz — I just want to do some shows and I don’t want to charge over the bloody top.”

Apparently Ozzy Osbourne Would Love to Work with Adele

Ozzy Osbourne
In a recent interview, if Ozzy gets his wish, the Prince of Darkness could be working with the currently reigning Queen of Pop

When talking to Australia's Rip It Up magazine, Osbourne praised the lady, saying that working with her meant he could "die a happy man". Also adding  “I think she’s f—ing great. She’s not f—ing botox-faced. She’s a normal, healthy girl who speaks in her native accent.”

But, before they get the ball rolling on something like this, Ozzy has a small matter to attend to, such as the matter of Black Sabbath's new album 13, due for release on June 11, 2013.

Wayne's World 2

Wayne's World 2
Summary
-Wayne and Garth are back! This time, they are trying to organize a rock music festival similar to Woodstock, this one called Waynestock. In order to do this, they enlist the help of the "world's greatest roadie". To find him, they must fly to London and convince him to help them organize a concert. Elsewhere, his girlfriend's manager is busy trying to get her away from Wayne and move her to L.A. so they can marry. Wayne must rush from the concert, which features Aerosmith, Pearl Jam and others to prevent Cassandra from marrying the wrong person

Ooooh, the two sexiest ones are in this photo, lol!

Did You Know?
-The scene where the Indian cries after seeing the garbage was inspired by a public service ad done in 1971 by Iron Eyes Cody
-Dana Carvey based the character of Garth on his brother, Brad Carvey
-The story the roadies tells about having to fill a brandy glass full of brown M&Ms for Ozzy Osbourne is based on a true story. Van Halen had a rider (a contractual list of items a band demands from the venue- towels, stage equipment, food, etc). And it one time said a bowl of M&Ms, but with all the brown ones removed. The reason for the stupid rule was to see if anyone actually read it. Sure enough, no one read it and the staging crashed. This led to the band supposedly going crazy
-The filming of the Aerosmith concert that supposedly takes place in Chicago actually takes place in San Diego, California. Both Mike Myers and Dana Carvey were in the audience, filming live

Wayne's World

Wayne's World

Summary
-Wayne lives at home in a rural Chicago neighborhood. He has a wide collection of nametags from his various jobs. He runs his own public access TV show in the basement of his house called Wayne's World, which he does with his best friend, Garth. When a local TV station decides to try and get Wayne and Garth to do their show professionally, they couldn't be happier. After a while, they discover, to their horror, it does not have the same appeal as it once did. Also, Wayne falls for a bass guitarist named Cassandra, and the sleazy TV exec, Ben Oliver, is trying to steal her away

-Lara Flynn Boyle: Stacy
-Michael DeLuise: Alan
-Dan Bell: Neil

-Sean Sullivan: Phil

Did You Know?
-Was shot in 34 days
-The donut shop, Stan Makita's Donuts, was a fictional donut shop, named after a player on the Chicago Blackhawks hockey team. The scenes for the donut shop were filmed at Tim Horton's, which is a real donut shop chain
-The pictures of Wayne and Garth hanging in Garth's room are from the Saturday Night Live sketches
-To explain the "No Stairway to Heaven" sign the clerk points to when Wayne starts playing, alot of British music shops in the 1970s banned or fined patrons for playing it because it played so often and also, it was the most widely played song by Led Zeppelin back then
-During the Bohemian Rhapsody scene, both Mike Myers and Dana Carvey got severe neck pain from the head banging
-During the Bohemian Rhapsody scene, Dana Carvey did not learn the lyrics to the song. When everyone is singing the song, word for word, you can see Carvey lip synching because he does not know the words
-During the "Terminator 2" parody scene, the song Time Machine by Black Sabbath can be heard playing in the background. It was from an album titled Dehumanizer, which featured a Terminator Endoskeleton dressed as the Grim Reaper
-When Wayne is comparing the albums Crucial Taunt to Double Live Gonzo!, Intensities in Ten Cities and Live at Budokan, for those who listen to these artists, you'll know that the first two are Ted Nugent and the third is a live Cheap Trick album
-Dana Strum from the hair metal band Slaughter is repeatedly mistaken for the long haired guitar store clerk in the "No Stairway" scene

Dana Strum: Slaughter

Joe Perry and Steven Tyler Perform Benefit Concert

Joe Perry/Steven Tyler
Taking time off their Aerosmith winter tour, they put their time to good use by performing a benefit concert on Sunday, March 10, they performed a concert to benefit victims of sexual abuse. They performed the concert at John Varvatos's clothing store in West Hollywood

The money they raised went to the Stuart House, a rape treatement center that specializes in the sexual abuse of children, which is located in Santa Monica. They performed mostly Aerosmith songs with a makeshift backup band. And out in the audience, Slash, from Guns N' Roses, was in attendance. He joined Tyler up on stage for 'Mama Kin'

Tyler told Rolling Stone “It’s about John’s passion for children and this endeavor he’s doing,” The band tackled the sticky subject of sexual abuse in the song "Janie's Got A Gun". And when the song was released, Tyler was told that he had to change a line. In the line "He raped a little baby", he had to change it to something else so it could play on the radio. He also mentioned “It’s about the swept-under-the-rug thing with kids where they’re so young, they don’t know what’s going on, they’ve been abused sexually and they think it’s their fault, which is a travesty beyond travesties.”

If You Like Lynyrd Skynyrd and Bad Company, Read This...

Bad Company/Lynyrd Skynyrd
Bad Company

Lynyrd Skynyrd
Since both of these bands are celebrating the 40 years they've been around, they are going to be co-headling a 2013 tour together. This tour, deemed the '40' tour, will kick off on June 20, in Auburn, Washington, and move east, ending on July 27, in Bethel, N.Y.

This tour has 12 dates total. Stops include Houston, Charlotte, N.C. Cincinnati. While the bands have never toured together, Paul Rodgers has toured with Skynyrd before.

Both bands are excited; Johnny Van Zant of Skynyrd is excited, as he notes that Rodgers is one of his favorite singers. And opening 11 of the 12 shows will be Black Stone Cherry

Somehow, These Legends Have NEVER Won a Grammy Award

Grammy

These artists have never and I mean NEVER won a Grammy award for their totally awesome music

Queen
-Even in 2013, long after the death of their iconic lead singer Freddie Mercury, these rockers have yet to actually win a Grammy. Hopefully, their time will come soon and they'll win a Grammy

The Who
-You gotta be kidding me! When you stop and think about the long career these guys have had, it's suprising to know they've never actually won this fantastic music award. Well, hopefully, they'll win sometime

The Doors
-Obviously there are people who don't like these guys

Led Zeppelin
-Seriously? I would have voted for these guys. I may not listen to them, but I think they totally rock. And something cool to add is lately on the classic rock music stations I get around me on the radio, they've been doing something called "Get the Led Out" meaning they toss in some Led Zep between their normal playlist. But, these guys have yet to win a Grammy. I'm not sure why; they're popular enough and have enough music out there

Jimi Hendrix
-Never won a Grammy

Alice & Slash Together

Slash/Alice Cooper
It seems as though the 'King of Shock Rock' and former Guns N' Roses guitarist Slash have a lot in common, despite the 17 year difference in age. They both love heavy rock, living life on the edge and top hats.

When Slash did a concert at the Dubai Tennis Center in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Cooper dropped in and they both performed Cooper's hit 'School's Out'. Some would question as to why Cooper would fly all the way around the world to sing one song? It was a matter of good luck, as he is an avid golfer. He was competing in Dubai as part of last week's Omega Dubai Desert Classic Challenge Match. And so he dropped in to sing

Super Bowl Concert

The odds are against Beyonce, who has been chosen to perform at the Super Bowl this year. According to rock music site Ultimate Classic Rock, here are 5 musicians who THEY think should be performing at this year's Super Bowl Half Time Show, instead of Beyonce.

5.) Guns N' Roses
-If Slash, Duff McKagan, Izzy Stradlin and Slash ain't there, forget it. That arrogant jerkoff Axl Rose pretty much forced them out of the band. Now GNR sucks!!!

4.) Bob Seger
-That wouldn't be too bad. He's pretty good.

3.) Kiss
-Oh man, if these guys played at the Super Bowl Half Time show, I'd watch it! Love these guys

2.) Van Halen
-Oh, heck yeah! These guys rock!

1.) Led Zeppelin
-I may not listen to them, but seeing these guys perform live I bet would be a pretty cool experience

10 Things You Did Not Know About Alex Van Halen

Alex Van Halen
10
Supposed to be guitarist
-While it was Alex who was taking guitar lessons, it was Eddie who pounded the drums on the drumkit he bought with his paper route money

9
Dutch father is very talented jazz musician
-Alex was born in Holland in 1953. But did not move to the United States until 1963. His father, Jan, was a very talented jazz saxophonist and clarinet player. Alex and Eddie were also classically trained on how to play the piano

8
One of the more wild drummers
-Always been a slight madman on stage, he's known for lighting cymbals and drumsticks on fire before performing. Over the years, his drum kits grew larger and larger until he was almost invisible on stage

7
Crazy backstage too!
-Backstage, Alex used to almost party it up, drinking excessive amounts of beer on both the road and in the studio.

6
Hurt himself
-He broke 3 vertebrae in his neck, and spent much of the 1995 'Balance' tour wearing a giant neckbrace. According to his brother Eddie, it was dubbed the 'Ambulance' tour.

5
He's can ordain marriages.
-In 2009, he presided over brother Eddie's marriage to publicist Janie Liszewski. Back in 1987, he gave up the drinking and did it by going cold turkey.

4
Loyal family man
-He's incredibly loyal to his family

3
Van Halen is an almost all family band
-His nephew, Wolfgang Van Halen, now plays bass for the band, which Michale Anthony originally did

2
It's said there are overdubs on 'Hot for Teacher'
-It's true. The lightning fast drum solo at the beginning was done by multiple sets of drum hits recorded

1
Way overdue on new stuff
-It's said that the band is overdue on new music ever since Eddie built his own recording studio in his backyard back in 1983. The last thing they recorded together is the 1998 album Van Halen III. But people will probably be just listening to "Everybody Wants Some" from their recent 2008 tour
