I'm a girl born in the wrong decade. I belong in the 1960s or the 1970s in my opinion. I bleed tie dye, my theme music is anything 1960s rock or 1970s rock or metal. I'm a hippie through and through. But also a hippie who loves old metal music. I believe that violence never solves anything, so why resort to it to solve problems? With all the wars the world has seen, there should be a clue somewhere in there!

Top 50 Hard Rock + Heavy Metal Frontmen of All Time
One question: WHO COMES UP WITH THESE LISTS?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
We've seen the Top 50 Hard Rock + Heavy Metal Bassists of All Time in addition to Drummers of All Time. But I doubt there's been a Top 50 Hard Rock + Heavy Metal Frontmen of All Time. Well, now there is. Let's check out who's here and who's not here. If there are any on this list you don't like or don't see, comment a name of someone you like. I love seeing what people have to say
This list has punk, pop and grunge singers on it when it clearly says 'Top 50 HARD ROCK + HEAVY METAL Frontmen' not 'top 50 punk frontmen' or 'top 50 grunge frontmen' or 'top 50 pop frontmen'. Whoever came up with this list is smoking some kind of grass or rock. They have grunge, pop, punk mixed in. I have nothing against these genres, but when you're talking about hard rock and heavy metal, keep it within those two realms of music
Here are some front men I think should be on here.
Glenn Hughes
-Black Country Communion, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple
-Even though I think he was on the list of bass players in hard rock and heavy metal, you simply can't overlook the fact that Glenn Hughes is an amazing singer and bass player, despite his quirks
Joe Elliott
-Def Leppard
-Not only can he still sing, but for his age, he's in amazing shape. Being able to belt out all those old Leppard tracks shows that he still has it!!
Tom Araya
-Slayer
Paul Stanley
-Kiss
-Oooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhh. Love listening to him sing. He's awesome!!! And for his age: cute!!!
Zack de la Rocha
-Rage Against the Machine
Till Lindemann
-Rammstein
-I don't think I would want to listen to a band that's dangerous to themselves
Maynard James Keenan
-Tool

Glenn Danzig
-Misfits/Danzig
43
Chris Cornell

-He's kinda cute!!
42
Henry Rollins
-Black Flag
41
Dee Snider
-Twisted Sister
-My sister thinks he is sooooooooooo cute!
40
Marilyn Manson
-Without all that creepy makeup, he's actually pretty handsome. His makeup is just creepy though
39
Layne Staley
-Alice in Chains
-Remind me again how grunge is associated with heavy metal or hard rock?????
38
King Diamond
37
Rob Zombie
36
Eddie Vedder
-Pearl Jam
-Joy, whiny 90s grunge that didn't even make it out of the 1990s
35
Joey Ramone
-The Ramones
34
Perry Farrell
-Jane's Addiction
33
Billie Joe Armstrong
-Green Day
-Even though he's punk, I'm keeping him on here because I do like Green Day and also, thinking of how gaga my sister goes for Billie Joe Armstrong makes me laugh, lol
32Tom Araya
-Slayer
31
Anthony Kiedis
-Red Hot Chili Peppers
-Seriously? How did this idiot get in here? He's surfer, punk, funk rock, not hard rock/heavy metal!!!
30Paul Stanley
-Kiss
-Oooooooooooooooooooooooohhhhh. Love listening to him sing. He's awesome!!! And for his age: cute!!!
29
Corey Taylor
-Slipknot/Stonesour
28Zack de la Rocha
-Rage Against the Machine
27
Dave Grohl
-Nirvana/Foo Fighters
-My sister now thinks he's really cute with the long hair and beard, lol. She also loves hearing him sing; she's now an official Foo Fighters fan. You start playing "Monkey Wrench" and forget it! You won't get two words out of her until the song ends, lol!!!!
26Till Lindemann
-Rammstein
-I don't think I would want to listen to a band that's dangerous to themselves
25
Ian MacKaye
-Minor Threat/Fugazi
24Maynard James Keenan
-Tool
23
Ian Gillan
-Deep Purple
-If he didn't make it on to the list, I would have lost faith in hard rock, lol.
22
Roger Daltrey
-The Who
-Definitely needs to be on here. Even though technically the Who may not be hard rock, with Roger Daltrey singing in that raspy voice of his, he could easily be a hard rock singer
21
Joe Strummer
-The Clash
-Even though The Clash are punk, I can't leave them off. I'm much too big a fan
20
Trent Reznor
-Nine Inch Nails
19
Johnny Rotten
-The Sex Pistols
-I know I'll probably get jokes for this, but I didn't know Johnny Rotten was the front man. I always thought Sid Vicious was until I found out he was the bassist
18
Lemmy Kilmister
-Motorhead
-Thank God he made it on here. I'm sure there would have been riots if he hadn't. Despite not listening to Motorhead, I have nothing but praise for these guys. They're still around, young people are discovering their music. I say, congratulations Motorhead!!!
17
Steven Tyler
-Aerosmith
-"The Demon of Screamin'" still shows the world of hard rock how to party
16
David Lee Roth
-Van Halen
-Despite a there being a good majority of Van Halen songs with him singing that I like, it's just his arrogant, rockstar personality I don't like. Sammy Hagar had that down-to-earth, working man personality going for him and I'm sure that's why people loved him as Van Halen's front man after Roth left
15
Philip Anselmo
-Pantera
14
Alice Cooper
-Oh yes, he DEFINITELY needs to be on here. He is the King of Shock Rock as we know it!!! In fact, it was Alice Cooper who inspired Kiss to have each member wear makeup, like four Alice Coopers
-Not to mention, in my sister's eyes, he's still cute, lol
13
Kurt Cobain
-Nirvana
-Can you say OVERRATED????????
12
Bon Scott
-AC/DC
-Woohoo!! AC/DC!!!!!!!!!!!!!
11
Jimi Hendrix
-Yet again, another highly overrated musician. He's good, but come on. He's overrated!!!!
10
Brian Johnson
-AC/DC
-Oh yeah!! He has to be on here. He has those same bluesy, raspy vocals as Bon Scott, even though people will argue until their faces are blue that Bon Scott is better. I actually like both. I'm not picky. As long as AC/DC is still rocking out, I will be rocking to their music!!!
9
James Hetfield
-Metallica
-As much as I like Metallica, sometimes I think people make them out to be more than what they are-a metal band
8
Axl Rose
-Guns N'Roses
-To quote my tattoo artist "What a schmuck"
7
Ozzy Osbourne
-Black Sabbath
-Woo-hoo!!!! People may make fun of him because when he talks, you can't understand a word he says. Blame drugs and alcohol for that. But, you can't deny that he can't still sing. He has an AMAZING voice for slow ballads. Don't believe me? Listen to songs like "No More Tears" or "Mama, I'm Coming Home". Not to mention, it's hard to argue with a guy who just so happens to be known as the "Prince of Darkness" and unlike some rockstars, who cheat on their significant other, Ozzy has been by Sharon's side for years. Sweet, beautiful love!!!
6
Iggy Pop
-The Stooges
-How did he get on here?
5
Ronnie James Dio
-Dio/Rainbow/Black Sabbath
-If this list forgot this man, the world of metal and rock as we know it is over. This guy, with his operatic vocals forcing the listener to use their imagination like he did and down-to-earth persona is a definite metal god. Not to mention, he popularized the ever famous "Metal Horns" gesture seen worldwide at all hard rock/heavy metal concerts!!
4
Rob Halford
-Judas Priest
-Woohoo!!!!!! Yay Judas Priest, lol!! It makes me laugh a little when my sister says that he's still cute for his age, even though he's a gay man. I agree; despite him being gay, he's still cute!! Wouldn't want to piss him off though. He may not be so nice when angry, lol. But from the way I hear it, he's one of the most down-to-earth guys you could ever meet
-I WANT TO SEE JUDAS PRIEST AGAIN!!!! This time, my sister wants to go. She loves their music now and also thinks Glenn Tipton is incredibly cute for his age, lol!!!
3
Robert Plant
-Led Zeppelin
-I agree. "Stairway to Heaven" is a definite tearjerker. What's ironic is that I never used to like listening to Led Zep because the radio stations around my city OVERPLAY Led Zeppelin. In fact, "Stairway to Heaven" used to be one of the many songs I didn't like because they overplayed it. But then guess what happens? After hearing it so much, I started liking it and then became a fan. Funny how things work, huh?
IDK why, I just really love this photo of him. So handsome! |
2
Bruce Dickinson
-Iron Maiden
-How hard would it be to disagree with this guy? I mean, hard to argue with a guy known as "The Air Raid Siren" because of his incredibly high operatic vocals. Don't believe me? Listen to "Flight of Icarus" from Piece of Mind. Listen to it all the way through and listen for that wailing voice of Bruce's. Not to mention, he's an incredibly sweet guy. When he's not busy flying the band around in Maiden's jet, dubbed Ed Force One, with his commercial pilot's license, he's making good with his time by visiting sick kids in the hospital, etc.
Wow, this is a really handsome photo of him. But then again, he looks good for his age! |
1
Freddie Mercury
-Queen
-He deserves to be here. His operatic vocals and onstage presence are forces to be reckoned with!
