What People Have Avoided Their Whole Lives

Everyone has something they have tried to avoid their whole lives. One thing they've never tried, one food they've never eaten, etc. Here are 13 things people say they've avoided

I'll even add my take on some of this; I can relate....

1. Run for it

-"Getting stung by a bee or wasp. And now I've built it up so much that I'm absolutely terrified of wasps and I run for my life when I see one!"

-Me: Not so lucky. I was stung by a honey bee on my thigh when I was 12. I did the stupidest thing ever- I  tried to swat it away, not knowing I was going to get stung. Not my smartest move.

2. I said no!

-"Game of Thrones and the Kardashian Show. Never seen one episode of either."

-Me: Nope. Seen neither and have no desire to watch either. If I want to watch something medieval-y, I'll pop in Monty Python and The Holy Grail

3. Lucky break (no pun intended)

-"Breaking a bone. It's not like I've been a complete bookworm either. cycling, skating, football, skiing, snowboarding, I fell off a roof once. Never broken a bone."

-Me: knock on wood....I have not done this yet. I've had sprains, but no breaks

4. Everyone has an opinion...

-"Marriage and getting knocked up. I saw what my friends went through they acted like marriage and babies were a race. I sat back, took my time, watched my friends, then decided it didn't look like fun. I still have no regrets."

-Me: Yup, not interested. Out of all my high school classmates, I believe I may be THE ONLY ONE who has not been in some sort of relationship or have kids.

5. WOW!

-"Snakes. Have never seen one or encountered them which is not surprising as I live in Iceland. But still it must count for something."

-Me: I have seen snakes here. But they're usually just the little harmless corn snakes or green garter snakes. The types you normally see around trees and wooded areas

6. Very rare!

-"I've never seen a Marvel movie, comic or TV show. It just sort of happened, but now it feels as though there's 200 movies and 2000 comics and there's no way I could begin to catch up even if I wanted to."

-Me: I've seen a few. I'm partial to the X-Men movies because they are good and Hugh Jackman, who plays Wolverine, is my favorite actor. Out of all the comic book movies, I like the X-Men movies the most. I've only read one or two Marvel comics, both X-Men; not impressed. As for the TV shows, I've never seen any; my sister was crazy huge into Spider-Man as a kid. She watched the animated series religiously.

7. Wild & Crazy

-"Driving a car. I'm 37 and father of one. I ride my bike almost everywhere. Longer trips go by train or bus. It's a great way to stay healthy and make a small environmental difference. Living in Sweden makes this both harder (the seasons) and easier (the infrastructure). My town is often considered one of Sweden's best bike cities. Yay!"

-Me: I have no choice but to drive. My job at Cincinnati Eye Institute is 30-45 minutes away if I am able to get on to I-71 North, but a full 60 minutes away if I have to take Columbia Parkway to Red Bank Road and then get on I-71 North. I'd never make it on time a bus or a bike. I'd have to switch from the 77X Delhi Express Metro bus in downtown Cincinnati and get on the 3X Montgomery Express bus to take me to Blue Ash, where my job is located

8. Oh, well

-"Watching an entire episode of Friends. Really don't understand the hype on this."

-Me: Whoever said this, I agree; They're not missing anything. It's not even remotely funny.

9. One is usually fun

-"Weddings and funerals. Never been to a single one. Never really had family so I guess it wasn't hard"

-Me: I've been to an equal number of weddings and funerals. I've been to the funeral for my father, biological grandmother and stepdad's mother. I've been to a predominantly black wedding for a friend of my late father and her now husband, my mom and stepdad's wedding and a wedding for one of my father's coworkers. Each wedding was interesting.

-The predominantly black wedding was for a woman named Harriet and her husband Alfred. Harriet worked with my late father at US Bank and her now husband worked as a driver for Coca-Cola because they have a distribution center right here in Cincinnati, in the neighborhood of Madisonville, right across the way from the Fifth Third Operations Center. Me, my sister and dad went to the wedding and it was amazing. It's beautiful, the church was gorgeous and the reception was hopping. It was, overall, a great wedding. The food was amazing; it was all soul food and God, it was amazing. Me and my sister ended up dancing with the kids at the wedding since they were relatives of both the bride and groom. Another coworker of my dad's, Andre, started dancing once he heard Michael Jackson's "Smooth Criminal" playing on the DJ booth. Overall, the wedding was fun. Some might think it's weird that me, my father and sister, who are Caucasian, went to a predominantly black wedding. I don't think it's weird; the family of both Harriet and Alfred didn't think it was weird. All three of us were talking to various members of their families. They both have interesting family members. Most people on both sides we talked to had served in the military, which is awesome! They invited us and we gladly came because they asked and it was fun

-The other wedding, besides my mom and stepdad's, was for a woman named Kelly, who worked with my dad at US Bank and her husband Brennan. It was in Covington at a place on Madison Ave. It was a large dance hall-type place. The wedding was at a small church in Covington and at the reception, the Covington Police did a bust during the reception. One of the cooks in the kitchen was hauled out in handcuffs and from the few words I heard from the police, they included "...possession of drugs with intent to distribute" and "...regular little meth lab at home". What a place to arrest someone-at a wedding reception, rofl!! Unfortunately, the wedded bliss didn't last too long. They ended up getting divorced after three years after she found her husband watching graphic pornography on her home computer and her son from a previous marriage seen him watching it as he passed by his parents room

-The wedding of my mom and stepdad was nothing big. They had a minister meet them at Five Points Park on Rapid Run Rd, in Delhi Township, near my current home and they exchanged vows there. The reception was at a place called Wild Mike's, a sports bar near our house. They kept it simple. Of course, the special song they danced to was "Gimme Three Steps" by Lynyrd Skynyrd. They also did a slow one, which was "You're My Inspiration" by Chicago

10. The black sheep of the family

-"Being baptized. That doesn't sound impressive until you take into consideration that my entire family is hyper-Christian and my grandfather, who helped raise me, was a minister. My mom's side of the family and my dad's side were from different denominations and they couldn't agree to which church to baptize me in, and both sides were stubborn, and I ended up making it to the age when I started to question religion without getting the dunk. My (step) brother is the only person in my family I know of who isn't some brand of Christian. I'm truly the black sheep on both sides."

-Me: I've been baptized. I don't remember much considering I was a baby, lol. I just don't have a confirmation name. But in years past, I certainly noticed my faith is not what it once was. It's not as strong as it used to be.

11. Really?

-"Twinkies. Almost 26 and I've never had one. I'll assume I'm not missing too much."

-Me: Whoever said this, I can rest assured telling you that you're missing nothing. They're nothing to rave about!

12. I love it!

-"I've never mowed the grass before. I've heard other people reminiscing about having to do yard work growing up but I've never been able to relate. I was raised by a single mother and we lived in apartments when I was a baby. She remarried when I was 9 and my stepfather always did the yard work after that one we were able to move into a house. Then I went off to college and have apartment hopped ever since. Now here I am, in my 30s, somehow avoiding having to mow grass for my entire life. I don't even think I'd know how to start a lawnmower if one was in front of me. Not my proudest of accomplishments..."

-Me: My dad never taught me or my sister how to mow the lawn, check the oil/windshield wiper fluid in cars, anything! Our mother had to teach us how to wash our car, mow the lawn among other things. She leaves the automotive stuff to the experts at the local Midas shop. Plus, I like the commentary the guys there have. They don't talk down to us because we're women and if they do, it's in a friendly, jokey way.

13. A miracle!

-"Having an STD or getting a girl pregnant before marriage. For the record I've made horrible decisions in my younger days. This was a legitimate miracle. The girl I dated prior to my wife it didn't clue in for three months that we were literally not even using the pull-out method. I just assumed she was on birth control AND I WAS LITERALLY TEACHING SEXUAL EDUCATION AS PART OF MY PUBLIC HEALTH POSITION."

Day 27-Where You See Yourself 10 Years from Now

I'm not even sure how to answer this
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

Frankly, I am unsure how to answer this. I suppose the only thing I can say is that I hope to be at a job that I enjoy. I hope to see London at least. Japan is questionable only because I don't know much of the language and it would be expensive. Other than that, I'm not sure where I see myself in 10 years.

Day 25-Initials of the People Who Have Impacts on Your Life

This will be short, sweet and to the point
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

JC
-Jessica Clark. She's my sister. Me and her fought like cats and dogs when we were younger, but then again, what siblings don't fight? Now we're closer than ever. We go to concerts together, get tattoos together, go on mini vacations together. We're not just siblings; we seem like best friends.

BW
-Brenda Whetstein, my mom. Originally her name was Brenda Schwarberg, but then she married my biological father, Steve Clark and was known as Brenda Clark. My parents divorced and she married a friend of hers named Greg Whetstein and now she is known as Brenda Whetstein. She can be tough to the point of brutal honesty, but sometimes you'd rather have someone be brutally honest than sugar coat the truth.

GW
-My stepdad. At first, I hated that my parents divorced. I thought my stepdad was a stranger. But when I finally seen how happy my mom was around him and how he didn't treat us like dirt like our biological father did, I quickly got over it. I can safely say that me and my sister love our stepdad like he was our dad all along. He's like a giant kid. He gets along great with my sister because they both think alike-disturbed minds think alike, I suppose. My mom always calls them Beavis & Butthead in reference to the MTV cartoon because they get along so well.

Benefits of Travelling

Besides seeing new destinations, studies show that travelling can good for your health!! YAY!! Now where's that suitcase?...…..
1.) It teaches you about the world
-Saint Augustine once said "The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page". Any university course can teach you about countries, but you can learn so much more about the traditions, culture of the country you visit. You can interact with the locals, who will, most likely, be more than happy to teach you about their ways of life

2.) You can learn about your homeland
-You can not only learn about a new culture, but you can also learn about your own homeland. You will notice unique cultural differences

3.) You can learn a lot about yourself
-It's been said that those who want to travel abroad want to "find themselves". You are given the chance to reflect on what it's like to be far from your home, what you feel about your homeland, how you feel about foreign people or what you do/don't know about the various places in the world.

4.) Tolerance is key!
-Everyone says that they are tolerant of everyone. But is that really true? You can often meet others who are different from you and that will teach you to be more accepting of people different from you and also more open

5.) Times you'll never forget
-Everyone looks forward to creating memories they'll never forget when travelling. You tend to change slightly by doing activities you never thought you'd do. You'll see beautiful landscapes and areas you never would have seen at home. You'll talk to people you never thought you'd ever meet

6.) Confidence and independence can be yours
-Travelling makes you feel more confident and independent. You realize that any situation can be mastered. You find out that you can survive without help from others. You realize you are stronger than you thought

7.) Knowledge is key!
-You can learn a lot through travelling. You can learn all sorts of things, such as a new recipe, find something pop culture-related you may never have known about, a new way of solving problems, a new mindset or more

8.) The language of travel
-Every country has its own language and dialects for different areas. Travelling can improve your language skills. If you go to a country where they speak the same language as you, you can learn some new local words and phrases only used there. If you go to a country that speaks a different language, you will learn even more about that language, especially if the local culture is what interests you and propelled you to go to that country in the first place

9.) Motivation!
-People will often say that when they return home from a long journey, their motivation is higher. You might learn things you want to try at home. These experiences will give you a new energy, a new sense of purpose

10.) Bragging rights
-Everyone loves to tell a good story about the places they've seen, the things they've done. With all this travelling, you can have a few good stories for the kids and grandkids. You can look back on life in your older years and realize that you have lived a full life, that your life was not in vain. You can be satisfied you have done so much. This will give you unlimited satisfaction and happiness

9 Annoying Things Friends Say When Returning from Travelling

We all have friends who brag about all the amazing things they did on their time away. Or they brag about how they met all sorts of interesting people, the amount of booze they drank or whatnot. Here are 9 annoying things friends may say when returning.
1.) You haven't had coffee until you've drank it here!
-It's pretty much a known fact that each country brews coffee differently. It may not have been grown in the volcanic soils of Hawaii or passed through the digestive system of an Indonesian cat, but coffee is coffee none the less

2.) "That place was way too touristy for me"
-For starters, you want to say to them "WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU WERE?!?!?!" Every country has those locations considered too "touristy" but people still go to see them. It's amazing the things that come out of people's mouths

3.) I had the craziest night at the Full Moon Party
-For one thing, a lot of countries have parties to celebrate things that are important to them. For example, in springtime in Japan, when the cherry blossoms bloom and fall, parties are held to view them because it is considered a beautiful occasion. (I would go and see them like the locals) No one really cares about the drunken nightclub war stories you have.

4.) You have to see [insert famous landmark] when the sun is coming up.
-This is so typical it's pathetic. Not everyone wants to go to the same places for the same reasons as you. Everyone has those places in the world they want to see for reasons personal to them. So if you keep irritating people about seeing this place when the sun is coming up, you're going to find something being shoved where the sun doesn't shine!

5.) Travelling really changes your personality
-Travelling is different for everyone. Some consider backpacking through Europe to see the historical sights an eye opening experience, especially if you've never been out of the country before. Some consider drinking the bar dry in Riviera Maya, Mexico a legend to behold. It's not like travelling changes everyone. If it's your first time, last time or just a vacation somewhere, it can certainly open your eyes and make an impact

6.) It was time to unplug
-Yes, we all know we're just dying to post those pics on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or any other mindless drivel called social media. Funny, for someone who said they wanted to "unplug", those social media sites are seeing some high density from you...

7.) "That reminds me of this one time in Argentina..."
-When someone asks you if you've ever been to a place, it's okay to say yes and tell them about it. It's a completely new thing to shoehorn your travel experiences into a conversation that has nothing to do with it.

8.) You should be able to fit everything you own into a backpack
-First things first, consider where you are going. Some places are subject to radical changes in climate. You need to be prepared. A carry on and a suitcase should be sufficient. For example, if you plan on climbing Mt. Fuji in Japan during the spring and summer, you need to bring proper winter gear for climbing the mountain, such as winter clothes, winter coat, hat, gloves, VERY GOOD hiking shoes and proper summer and spring weather gear for when you come down. It's all down to knowing how the weather and climate is in the destination you're embarking to

9.) I'm glad I went when I did
-Here's a translation for this: "I had the best trip ever and you will never come close to that". Everyone has those one or two special destinations they want to see. They've been planning, saving and doing what they needed to prep themselves for that special day when they can embark. It does not reflect well on you when you basically brag about them not having as good a trip as you. Everyone travels to different places for different reasons. For some it's culture. For some it's religion. For some it's to see the sights. Do not take away the specialness of their dream destination(s) just because it doesn't compare to what you did. Not everyone aims to get completely London Blitzed on alcohol the whole time they are on vacation. Do not put someone down for wanting to go to a certain place in the world simply because you don't want to go there.

Day 22-What Will You Do Differently If You Become a Parent

I'm going to be honest about this!
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

What I would do differently if I was a parent would be to encourage my childto follow their dreams. I would teach them that dreams have no limits. That dreams are not for suckers. That if you do work hard enough and put enough dedication into it, it can happen.

I would be supportive of whatever decision my child made. I would make my child feel comfortable enough to come to me or the other parent about anything. Such as if the child identified as gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender. I would want that child to come to me or the father and feel comfortable opening up about it and know that regardless of what happens, they will be loved and adored.

I would not tell my child that they would need to work hard to achieve their dreams, that the road to success will be a hard one, but if they are willing to push past the moments where they question themselves about doing this, they can go all the way! I would support my child no matter what they said they wanted to do. If they said they wanted to pursue music as a career, I would tell them it's going to be a hard road, getting all that practice in. But if they are willing to push past that, do the practice and keep at it, they will get to where they need

Case in point, I would positively encourage my child to have limitless dreams. Anything they want to do can be achieved with hard work and dedication. And no giving up!

Day 21- Who Made You Who You Are Now

I can't really answer this. I don't know who made me who I am. All I can say is that I am constantly thinking negative of myself, I think I am ugly and worthless and not worthy of anyone's love except for my family.

Day 17-Recent Dreams?

Nothing I can think of at this particular moment.
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

Day 15-Something That Has Happened to You

I'm not really even sure what to put here. But, here goes...
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

Something that happened to me, I suppose, is when me and my sister were younger and still living with our dad in Bellevue, KY, we were watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey on DVD. It was near the holidays and our tradition was that we always watch Christmas movies around the holidays. We still do it, except it's mostly my sister and mom considering we live with her and our stepdad and I work 12-13 hour days ever since Nov. 25. Anyway, we were watching that holiday movie when we hear the door start rattling, as if someone was trying to turn it. The screen door opened and we knew it was opened because it squeaked. Our dad looked through the peephole and seen someone trying to open the door. He scared them away by turning on the porch light. After they scattered like roaches to the light, he called the police. The office told our dad that a lot of people on our block have been noticing suspicious people hanging in the large field and copse of woods behind our houses, most likely scoping them out for break-ins and robberies. A neighbor up the street had his garage broken into and a lot of expensive power tools stolen from him. He said he needed them since his job was to fix up houses for real estate agencies to re-sell. After that, we started leaving the porch light on, to say that someone is home. That's at least what the police told us. Even over here in Delhi Township, a small part of Cincinnati, OH, that's what we do. We leave the porch light on because our stepdad works second shift and comes home late. We also want people to know that someone is home.

Day 13-Something You Wish You Could Have Done Differently

This will be short
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

I simply wish I could have never gone to college. I should have known it was going to be a failure, but I wanted to try it to see if I could hack it. I thought I did fairly well, going to a small community college for graphic design. I did fairly well in almost all of the classes except for Package Design. It was taught by a woman who worked at P&G (Procter & Gamble), a very large company based right here in Cincinnati. She told me all sorts of nasty things. Here are some of the things she told ME "You need to do yourself a favor and quit while you're ahead" "Your skills just suck" "You're horrible with deadlines. You don't even have a proper laptop like everyone else" "You are wasting not only my time, which is very valuable to me and your classmates who actually want to learn, but you're wasting your time as well" "If you go for an interview at a graphic design firm, they will not only tell you that you are wasting your time, but they will tell you that you are wasting their time and they will laugh you right out of the building".

Because of that, I lost what little confidence I had in something I could try and do. After that class, I dropped out in 2011 and have been working ever since to pay back the student loan. I have had it paid off for the last four years. I should known I was too ignorant for college. I had no issues at all with the general education classes. I aced those with straight A's. It was just the course mentioned above I had issue with. Other than that, all the other course classes were fun and easy

2018: What a Year!!

Like every year, there are the highest of highs and lowest of lows. My year has been, in one word, interesting.

Was laid off for the first time and got a new job three weeks later.
-On 10/26/2018, I was laid off from my job. I worked as an Image Processor I for US Bancorp. My job had me scanning and processing financial documents all day. A few weeks before I was laid off, our big boss, Jane Biessener, had come in from Milwaukee, where she works. Apparently changes had been underway and of course, my department had no knowledge. The week of 10/26, we were told that changes would be happening. That Wednesday before I got laid off, I was called into a meeting with our boss Jane along with two of my coworkers, Pixie and Carrie. We were told, in no uncertain terms, that the Cincinnati location would be shut down due to that magical word called "restructuring". In my opinion, that means "We don't need you. Find a new job!" Of course, I cried because I had never had that happen. And as always, the HR rep told us that he would help us find a job. YEAH RIGHT! He did fuck all to help us. We were on our own. But, enough on the negativity. I applied for jobs and I did it hard. I was thankful and lucky enough to land a new job three weeks later. In fact, on the very day that I would have had to file for my severance pay, which was 11/26, that was my first day in a new department, still in US Bank. I am now a Lockbox Clerk 2. I process payments for retail. I have been working there for four happy weeks. I feel a lot calmer and a lot less stressed out here than at my last job. I only have two words- THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got two more tattoos.
-I should really post photos. I had gotten two more tattoos. I have a tattoo on the inside of my left forearm. I have always been fascinated by those tear away tattoos that tattoo artists refer to as "skin rips". I have a "skin rip" tattoo on the inside of my left forearm with the English flag inside. It's to represent part of my heritage, since I found out that I have 8% Great Britain in my heritage. Boy, that certainly does explain a thing or two. The other tattoo I have is on the inside of my right calf. It's of the Disney character Mulan. It represents my love of/appreciation for/interest in Chinese culture and history.

Bought tickets to see Iron Maiden
-Yes, that's right. This girl and her family are going to see Iron Maiden. Ironically enough, the day that the tickets went on sale for Iron Maiden Fan Club members is also the day I was interviewing for my current job. While waiting for the manager to come to the lobby, I was playing Beat the Clock and trying to buy the best Iron Maiden tickets I could. It was hard doing it on a smartphone and trying to be fast about getting four tickets. But, I got them, and strangely enough, I am in the same exact general vicinity as I was when me and my family had gone to see Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. Which means I will have excellent photos!!!!!
Seen Lynyrd Skynyrd/.38 Special
-What really irritated me about this night was that .38 Special was supposed to play for an hour. They only got 45 minutes, which confuses me. Then, of course, Hank Williams Jr. comes on and does a two hour show like he thinks he's the headliner. He is, no offense to any fans, trashy to me. He had to keep changing hats for every song. He spit on the stage, which is about as uncouth as it is possible to be, and he had to keep throwing politics in between his songs. He is just absurdly trashy and uncouth. Not only that, these two older gentlemen kept hitting on me and my sister with their wives right there. But, all in all, seeing Lynyrd Skynyrd was amazing. My sister had bought the tickets, which were thankfully very reasonable. I know it made my mom happy because she said that "Free Bird" was played at her graduation. She had been a fan since she was a kid and it made her feel almost on the verge of tears to know she could see them on the tour they dubbed "Last of the Street Survivors" tour, named after their album Street Survivors. That show was amazing!!!!! If .38 Special ever goes on tour again, I'm buying tickets so that we can see two hours of .38 Special, not two hours of some hillbilly hick who changes hats repeatedly and basically believes everyone should support our idiot president and who spits on the stage like he owns it.
.38 Special

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Seen Judas Priest/Deep Purple again
-Yes, we have now seen these two bands twice. We saw Deep Purple for the first time in September of last year when they had come to Cincinnati to play at the Riverbend Music Center with Alice Cooper. And just this past August, they had come once again to play with Judas Priest, who was touring their recently released Firepower album. Man oh man does Judas Priest know how to rock!! I loved seeing the look on my sister's face when Rob Halford rode out on his Harley, done up in Firepower artwork to sing "Hell Bent for Leather". Another cool thing is that two of the roadies for Priest were raising money for Parkinson's Disease research by charging $5 to get a photo on the motorcycle Rob would ride. Of course, me and my sister both chipped in for three good reasons: A.) it goes to a good cause, B.) We're fans of Judas Priest and we both knew Rob would ride that bike C.) It was because of Glenn Tipton recently being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and we both thought he was the good looking one.

-As for Deep Purple, they were good, but a lot of their songs were long extended jam sessions. A lot of the songs they played I was not familiar with, like "Maybe I'm a Leo", "Wring That Neck", "Lazy" "Perfect Strangers", "It's Good to Be King". The songs they played that I did know were "Knocking At Your Back Door", "Strange Kind of Woman", "Woman from  Tokyo", "Space Truckin'", "Hush", "Smoke on the Water", "Highway Star". When we had seen Deep Purple the first time, they had ended the show with "Smoke on the Water". This past time they ended with "Hush". No disrespect to Ian Gillan, his voice seems to have taken on a nasally tone. He bobs and dodges around the high notes. I mean, I know he's getting older and probably can't do that high stuff anymore, which is fine. But it does seem like his voice is going out. Sadly, I think I'm starting to know what Ritchie Blackmore was thinking when he did those last few albums with Deep Purple and and how Ian's voice is just awful.
Found two more autobiographies that I read and loved
-That's right. I'm constantly looking for interesting rock or metal bios. I found two that I read and loved. Black Knight: Ritchie Blackmore by Jerry Bloom and Heavy Duty: Days and Nights in Judas Priest by K.K. Downing. The book about Ritchie Blackmore is a biography while the book about K.K. was written by him. I love books like this because sometimes the person will inject their own little thoughts and they are hilarious. Reading about K.K. certainly was eye opening. I never knew that he had such deep resentment for Glenn Tipton. Of course, they got along, but it seemed like it was just for the band's sake and not personal sake. As for Ritchie, reading that book was interesting. Of course, with him talking about the band Rainbow, I ended up going on the internet and listening to Rainbow's music and am now a fan. I want to get some of their albums. The song I like best is "Street of Dreams" from their album Bent Out of Shape. It has that nice pop-rock melody to it. No wonder it's Ritchie's favorite song.

Seen a cool movie about the band Queen called Bohemian Rhapsody. Also saw the new Halloween movie.
-The new movie Bohemian Rhapsody is awesome. It's essentially about how the band formed and how they played their famous gig at Live Aid. It's awesome. The new Halloween movie is interesting as well. It's definitely not for kids, which leads me to wonder why people had their children, aged 10 or under, in there. There was one part where the psychiatrist looking after Michael Myers gets his head stomped on and it bursts like a pumpkin dropped off a freeway overpass. Another part involves two police officers getting killed, one with a bullet to the heart and the other with his head removed, hollowed out like a pumpkin and his flashlight inserted inside. Not suitable for children

My mom had her first car crash in 41 years and was robbed highway robbery-style
-My mom had her first car crash when she was 16. A car had rear ended her not paying attention. Once again, things have come full circle. Friday night my mom had been rear ended by a box truck on I-75, coming back from Florence, Kentucky, where she works. It had been raining, which almost always guarantees the roads will be slick. My mom, of course, was taking her time because it was stop-and-go traffic. This box truck, not paying attention, had no time to stop and it rear ended her. Luckily, she was able to get off to the right side of the road. She was ready to murder the driver, lol. She was swearing left, right and center at him and of course, he says that there's no need to cuss, lady. The Fort Mitchell Police had come and collected her purse along with the ambulance who was there to take her to St. Elizabeth in Edgewood. After finding out that, thankfully, she had no broken bones, but mostly just a sprained back, wrist and shoulders, she was allowed to go home. Yesterday morning, we had gone out to collect her bag from work, which contains her Amazon Kindle Fire table, which she uses to read e-books, her MP3 player, a couple of spare phone chargers and a pair of brand new eyeglasses, which she uses when she takes out her contacts, we find the car is unlocked and the bag gone. Someone had robbed my mother. It's that old highway logic-broken down car, let's see what valuables are inside. And with it being right before Christmas, there might be Christmas gifts inside. My mom had been robbed!!

-The Fort Mitchell Police HAD NOT locked up my mom's car, as she was told. She was enraged, on fire, furious, every word for angry. And if you know her like me and my sister do, she cries when she gets angry. She kept saying "I hate people". I do not blame her. Luckily, my sister was able to contact Amazon customer service and have the Kindle shut down, unable to be re-registered. Because when my mom would buy e-books, her credit card information was on it. My sister talked to Amazon and told them the situation. That my mom's Kindle had been stolen. That she wanted it wiped completely clean so no one could use it. That it was only her Kindle that would be wiped clean, not her actual Amazon account. That all the books she had bought would still be available via the Amazon Cloud. So now, whoever gets that Kindle, thinking they have a new one, will be unable to use it. When they contact Customer Service to get it activated and read off the serial number, it will register as stolen. So it's now a $50 coffee table decoration. As for the MP3 player, the cord to charge it was also in there, so they now have a used MP3 player. Just hope they mind the buttons sticking. Sucks to be them! Luckily, me and my sister have my mom covered. My sister ordered my mom a new canvas bag with dolphins on it (my mom has a thing for dolphins) and I ordered a new Kindle Fire after Christmas, when they go on sale, for my mom. I'm even ordering a new tablet cover for her. I want purple because my mom loves purple; it's her favorite color. But she went ahead and bought herself a new 16 GB MP3 player. So, essentially, me and my sister did our good deed for the day. I also did another good deed- buying lunch for my mom. She's diabetic and if her sugar drops, she gets lethargic. I bought Subway for her since she didn't have breakfast.

-The point of this little situation is-I HATE PEOPLE! I've always hated people who think of only themselves and no one else. It seems to get increasingly worse the closer it gets to Christmas. People want to fight and be stupid over the things that don't even matter. To make matters worse, because of the idiots at the Fort Mitchell Police Department, my mom was robbed. She called them and told them she was robbed and they didn't seem to take it seriously. Like they thought a $50 Amazon Kindle Fire, a $60 MP3 player and a pair of $200 progressive-lens glasses was no big deal. Like it was low priority for them, when they had more important things to worry about, like useless idiots OD'ing on heroin or other drugs. They blew it off, saying they would "look into it". Which translates into "Lady, we have more important things to worry about than some tablet, glasses and an MP3 player". It's because of police officers like this that I have a hard time respecting men in uniform sometimes. These kind of police officers don't seem to take their job seriously, investigating a robbery, which is their job, look at it like "what do you want me to do about it?" while the ones who DO take their job seriously are not trusted by others. They do their job and investigate it and get nothing in return.

Saw Def Leppard/Journey
-We saw these two bands in May. I saw Def Leppard already, so it was my second time seeing them while for my sister, it was her first time seeing Def Leppard. It was both our first time seeing Journey live, though. My sister had bought the tickets and when she looked at the price later, it was hideously expensive. She couldn't figure out why until she looked at the breakdown of costs on the tickets. She had, unknowingly, bought a VIP meet-and-greet with Def Leppard. When she realized that, I think she blew a few microchips. The thought of meeting Def Leppard and getting a photo next to Joe Elliott and Phil Collen was enough to make my sister happy. When the blessed night came, she made sure to wear all her Leppard gear. What cracked me and my sister up, though, was when we got inside US Bank Arena, where the concert was, there were two lines-one for VIP meet-and-greet with Journey and one for Def Leppard. Everyone got in the line they thought was for Leppard, but turned out to be Journey. I never seen a line of people move so fast, rofl. Anyway, me and my sister, and about a hundred other people, mostly women, were in line to do the meet-and-greet. There was a black woman holding a child backstage with them and of course, now the rumor mill was up and running about who it was. Every one there thought it was Phil Collen's wife Helen, but it couldn't be. She was in L.A. and had just given birth to a baby. She wouldn't be able to fly just yet. It might have been the girlfriend or even wife of one of the other band members. I didn't ask because I felt it was not my concern. We got the photo, the photographer telling my sister to relax, lol. For her, it's hard to relax when Joe Elliott and Phil Collen are RIGHT BEHIND YOU! I was calm as ever, being near Vivian Campbell and Rick Savage, but inside, I was dancing like an idiot, jumping for joy! The concert, both bands, were amazing. When Def Leppard came on, they did a mix of early and new material, like "Rock Rock ('til You Drop)", "Let It Go", "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Hysteria", "Animal", "Foolin'", "Love Bites", "Armageddon It", "Man Enough", "Invincible", "Undefeated", etc.

How tattoos change your life

I KNEW IT! I KNEW THERE WERE GOOD THINGS ABOUT TATTOOS!!!!!!!!!!

People often say either good things or bad things about tattoos. Some of the more typical questions are "Why did you get that?" "What does it mean?" "Aren't you worried about what it will look like when you get older?" "Did it hurt?", etc. What some don't realize is that tattoos can actually be good. Find out here how tattoos can be good and change your life.
This is usually the LAST thing people think tattoos will do. But here are some of the POSITIVE ways tattoos can help

Confidence
-It doesn't matter who you are. No matter the race, skin color, religion, sexuality, gender, etc. Tattoos are universal!! They are for everyone. To some, getting a tattoo is a rocket of confidence, launching their confidence to new heights. Tattoos can allow someone who might be meek, shy, whatever word you want to use, to express themselves and thus open themselves up to conversations with those who admire their work. And thus make possible friends. To most who have ink, the old saying "once you get one, you'll eventually want another" rings all too true. But to many, tattoos are mysterious, something you don't see quite often, but once you get a tattoo, you feel a little more confident and a little more tough.

Conversation starter
-If your ink is showing, be prepared to show and tell. There is always someone willing to talk to you about your ink, even though they may ask the typical questions "What does it mean?" or "Why did you get it?" Most likely these questions will be more out of curiosity than offense. Tattoos are a great way to network with new people, make new friends, have new conversations
Self expression
-This is one of the oldest reasons in the book for going under the needle. Tattoos are meant to show the world who you are. They are meant to show the world just what you want to tell them, whether it be your heritage, what your likes/dislikes are, your passions, hobbies, goals, your loves, support for something like the military or gay rights, etc. Your body is like a blank canvas. Tattoos are the paints you add to create a masterpiece. If someone tells you that too many is a bad thing, simply tell that person that it's your body; you do with it what you want.
Awareness
-It seems as though if you go under the needle, your Spidey sense or in this case "tattoo senses" alert you to those around you who have tattoos. You start noticing all the vast, rich and complex designs that people have. This may even spark an interest in tattoo art and history and culture
Interesting people
-It's been said that tattoos were once the mark of sailors and criminals. Nowadays, tattoos are as common as the nose on people's faces. It doesn't have to be just rockers, criminals or bikers with tattoos, as originally thought by some. Everyone probably has at least one or two tattoos. If they are dressed a certain way, you'd never know that they have tattoos unless they were in a swimsuit. By having an open mind and knowing that not everyone is like you, having tattoos is a great way of meeting interesting people, in addition to making friends with people who don't have tattoos. Also, the people around you every day may have tattoos and you may not even know it. Your friends, teachers, family members, classmates, coworkers, managers, bosses, etc. may have ink and you wouldn't know it.
-Apparently it's always been considered that only tattooed people can be friends with other tattooed people. Which is absolutely bogus!! That's not true. It simply doesn't matter if people have tattoos.
People will read you like a book
-Tattoos are definitely an eye catcher. This is your way of letting people read you, learn about you, learn about who you are as a person. This is your way of letting people find out what your likes/dislikes, loves/hates, passions, hobbies, interests, heritage, etc. is. And in the end, when you see people with tattoos, you learn about them as well
Agree to disagree
-This is very common in the world of tattooing. There's always going to be that one person who either hates it or simply doesn't get it. Not everyone will like your tattoo or get it. You got it for you, not them. Just remember the golden rule of tattoos: you got it for you, not them.

Things you should NEVER say at a tattoo shop

There are a million things you should NEVER say or do at a tattoo shop. Here are some of those no-no's for getting inked.
Don't call it a tattoo gun
-Does it look like a gun to you?!?!? This is not a gun to be shot with. It's a mechanical machine that, like all or most machines, runs on electricity. Using the correct words and terms will make you sound like you know what you're talking about
What should I get?
-Seriously? Shouldn't you have thought of this before hand? Most tattoo artists are not mind readers. They will not know what you like or want unless you tell them, duh! If you don't know what you want, do not go into a tattoo parlor until you're clear about the idea. Tattoos are permanent; tattoo parlors are not like clothing stores where if you can't fit into the item or do not like the item, you can return it. I'm sure this frustrates most if not ALL tattoo artists! Tattoos are a permanent investment and they need to be thought through COMPLETELY before investing in one

Can I bring other people?
-Yes, it's exciting to get your first tattoo. Yes, it's exciting to have someone there to witness it and tell everyone you didn't chicken out. But, be respectful of the artist. It's okay to bring 1-2 people depending on how big the shop is. But do not bring your whole posse of 1,000,000 people. The shops are not usually that big, lol. But in all total seriousness, most tattoo parlors will limit you to 1 or 2 people with you when you go under the needle. Besides, if you are in an area of the shop where other artists might need to work their magic, you need to be respectful of not only your artist but other artists coming in to get additional supplies, like plastic sheathing for their tattoo machine wires, extra ink, petroleum jelly, etc. and also tattoo parlors tend to be intimate, meaning that the artist wants his/her focus on your ink and doing their job right!! Not to mention, most tattoo parlors have one or two main rooms where 3+ artists might be working their magic at the same time, causing a chuckle from people if the tattoo machines are buzzing together at the same time or other artists might need additional supplies and need to come in.

Can you make it cheaper?
-REALLY? Someone would ask this?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?
-The answer to this question may as well be "GET OUT!" There is no way to make a tattoo cheaper, unless you find some numbskull in a back alley willing to give you a tattoo for $50. I guarantee if you go that route, it will not end in the tattoo of your dreams. Follow this simple rule: you get what you pay for. Tattoos are not cheap. What usually decides the end amount is size, amount of detail, sometimes location, amount of color used. Unlike teachers or bankers, who are salaried, tattoo artists earn their income from the masterpieces they create. If you ask about making it cheaper, you are cheating them out of income, money they can use to buy additional supplies, feed their families and themselves, etc. If the price is high, it is most likely because it will end up being a big tattoo and requires a lot of high artistic skill and time to turn it into a masterpiece. The other rule of thumb is good tattoos aren't cheap and cheap tattoos aren't good!
Can you give me a tattoo like so and so?
-If you're going to an artist who has some notoriety, they will give you one of their own designs. If you bring in a picture off the internet, like I did with my first one, they will make suggestions on how to make it unique, such as using your favorite color, placement, etc. They'd rather not copy another artists' work. The sad part is that in the world of tattoos, there are tattoo copycats, artists who do tattoos but also will mimick another person's tattoos. The NORMAL tattoo artists work double time-level hard to make sure their work is brag worthy and if you're dead set on getting one like your favorite celeb, at least try and put some kind of personal stamp on it.
