Most Popular Rock / Metal Tattoos

It's no surprise that music fans want something honoring their favorite musician on their body. Whether it be the logo, a few lines from a song, the mascot for the band (if they have one) and so on. According to Ultimate Classic Rock, here are the bands most people get something of for a tattoo.

I'm definitely guilty as charged. I have "Let It Be" with music notes surrounding it on my left shoulder. So it's obvious I like The Beatles. I'm planning on my next tattoo already. I want to get a few lines from the song "Wasted Years" by Iron Maiden on my right forearm. It'll be a representation of one of my favorite metal bands and it will be feminine, after all, I am female and don't want something too massive. Getting Eddie tattooed on my body is not something I want. Men mostly get Eddie tattooed; I want something a little simpler

A new study done by LLTattoo has revealed that rock bands and metal bands are amongst the popular choice for tattoos. They have revealed who the most popular musicians are for getting tattoos of.

Pink Floyd

-Taking the number one spot, these legendary British rockers have inspired the most tattoos, from logos to song lyrics to album covers. An average of 13,000 searches a month puts these guys at the top

Guns N' Roses

-Tattoos of Slash and company are amongst the popular ideas for tattoos. Of course, there are also song lyrics that hold meaning for the one intending to go under the needle. An average of 10,675 searches each month puts these guys at number 2

Rammstein

-This legendary German alt-metal band is popular amongst metal heads with an average 10,558 searches in a month

Metallica

-Any fan of Metallica would most likely get either an album cover or song lyric tattooed. They have 9.367 monthly searches

Nirvana

-Grunge rockers Nirvana still have a die hard following, despite the death of front man Kurt Cobain. Each month, they average 9,150 searches

Linkin Park

-The legendary metal band averaged 8,425 searches for tattoos inspired by them

Slipknot

-This Iowa-based giant of metal is seeing 7,900 searches a month

Twenty One Pilots

-This Ohio-based alt-rock band has inspired 7,775 monthly searches for tattoo-related ideas

Iron Maiden

-Not surprisingly, these legendary British metal legends have inspired a slew of tattoo ideas, ranging from song lyrics to album covers to the famous, iconic "Eddie the 'Ead". On average, each month they were getting about 7,125 tattoo ideas for fans

Tool

-This unique band was ranking about 6,200 monthly searches for tattoo-related ideas

According to Mentor Dedaj of LLTattoo, he said "It's very interesting to see which rock bands inspire the most tattoo pieces around the world. Rock music and ink are seemingly inseparable, and tats are almost obligatory to big rock heads. Having inked people in our studio with pieces influenced by some of these artists, some of the results are unsurprising. However, there are also a few interesting bands included in the top ten, as well as a few that surprisingly didn't make the list."

Unspoken Rules You Should Know Prior to Going to Japan

Japan is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. Their culture is unique and unlike any other. Prior to going there, there are some unspoken rules you need to be aware of. According to MSN.com writer Eul Basa, here are some unspoken rules to be aware of

Respect

-Japan prides itself on humility, proper manners and respect. The top rule here is to be respectful and kind. When you show respect for the local customs, that puts you in the good graces of the locals and shows you take their culture seriously. It will make you look good and show you respect the local laws and customs

Take off your shoes prior to entering a building

-When entering a temple or shrine or visiting a house, hotel or other building, remove your shoes. Slippers to wear inside are provided

Bow to show respect

-In Japan, you bow to show respect. The deeper you bow, the higher amount of respect you show. A small bow of the head indicates a greeting or showing of gratitude

Offer / Receive with two hands

-It might sound strange, but if you offer and receive something with both hands, it's considered respectful. It shows you are being considerate of the person and also showing concern for the person that you're speaking with

No tipping at restaurants

-This is definitely a no no. You do not tip at restaurants. It's not customary and it could even be considered rude. The reason tipping is not customary is because customer service in Japan is of the highest quality and and it's simply an every day thing to be expected

Respect the lines

-In Japan, it's considered good manners to wait your turn in line, whether it be for a taxi, to board a train or elsewhere. It's bad manners to jump ahead of someone. Respecting the lines reduces chaos and ensures that things run smooth as ever

Be quiet on public transport

-The reason that you must be quiet on public transport is because there is an unspoken rule about serenity and harmony. Some people choose to sleep on the train or bus. Speak quietly to someone. Do not shout or make loud noise. These are looked down on as bad manners

No pointing with your fingers

-It's considered impolite to point with your fingers. If you need to gesture to something or someone, use your whole hand

Don't blow your nose in public

-This might not seem like a big deal elsewhere, but in Japan, it's frowned upon to blow your nose in public. It's considered rude. If you do need to blow your nose, excuse yourself and find a nearby bathroom to do so

Wear the designated slippers when visiting the bathroom

-It might sound strange or even gross to wear slippers to the bathroom, but fear not. In Japan, cleanliness is top notch. When visiting the bathroom, you must wear a specific type of slipper. It all comes down to the high level of hygiene and cleanliness

Don't walk and eat

-If you must eat, do so at a table with chairs or seating. Do not walk and eat. This is considered poor manners. This helps also keep the streets clean

Respect personal space

-Most people are respectful of personal space. Some aren't. You must respect a person's personal space in Japan. The culture places high value on personal space

Using chopsticks

-Japan is a nation that uses chopsticks to eat. When using chopsticks, NEVER insert them vertically into food. This seems rude and impolite. Not only that, but it looks like something done at funerals. Also, do not use your chopsticks to hand food to others; they will get their own food

Slurp your noodles loudly

-In most countries, this would be considered impolite or poor manners. In Japan, it's commonplace and even acceptable to slurp your noodles loudly.. This, strangely, shows the owner of the restaurant you are really enjoying their food

Always carry cash with you in addition to cards

-Not all businesses in Japan do cashless payment. Some are still old school enough to do cash only. That's when you want to ensure you have both. To make sure you are able to successfully pay

Sort out trash

-This is a part of the recycling process. You sort out your trash based on what it is. Japan is known for being an incredibly clean country. Here, you sort out your trash because there are so few public bins. Put the correct trash into the correct bin to keep in tune with the strict waste regulation

Etiquette on escalator

-This is something most have never heard of. Japan is a country that prides itself on etiquette for everything. Including escalators. When using one, it's customary to stand on the left side in Tokyo while in Osaka, you stand on the right. This allows those in a hurry to get by

Visiting an onsen (hot spring) or public bath

-When you visit an onsen (hot spring) or public bathhouse, you must clean yourself thoroughly prior to entry. It's in relation to the high level of hygiene and cleanliness in Japan.

-WARNING: If you have tattoos, there's a pretty good chance you may be restricted from entering unless you cover them up. In Japan, tattoos have a strong cultural connection with the Yakuza, or Japanese Mafia. These underworld figures are known for heavy body tattooing, which they often cover up. If you have tattoos, cover them up. Ask the owner of the public bathhouse or onsen what the policy is on tattoos and what you can do to cover them up. This will show that you respect their wishes and also put you in their good graces. Covering your tattoos also reduces the risk of offending the locals who frequent these places, as they may be uncomfortable seeing tattoos because of the cultural connection to the Yakuza

Dress modestly

-Japan is a conservative country. Dressing modestly is what everyone does. Wear conservative clothing when visiting shrines or temples or rural areas. This will show respect for the customs and local culture

No tattoos at the gym

-This goes back to the cultural connection between tattoos and the Yakuza. If you plan on going to a gym and you have tattoos, cover them up. Covering them up is considered a sign of respect

No PDA

-Public displays of affection, such as hugging or kissing, can make others feel uncomfortable and is frowned upon in Japan. Refrain from doing this

Follow the proper rules when visiting shrines / temples

-The thing to keep in mind is that shrines and temples are holy places, just like churches, mosques or synagogues. Dress respectfully. Just as you would dress when attending services at church, a mosque or synagogue, do that there. People come to shrines and temples to pay their respects to lost loved ones. If you plan to partake in the purification and rituals here, follow the proper etiquette, which includes bowing, clapping, offering coins and burning incense

Punctuality is important

-Japan considers tardiness to be of the utmost disrespect. Being on time shows your consideration for other people's time. Guarantee that you get to your destination on time

Etiquette at the dinner table

-First and foremost, speak softly. Loud speaking is considered poor manners. Dinners are meant to enjoy the company of others. Getting loud and rowdy puts a dent in that

Never open a gift in front of the giver

-It might sound strange, but in Japan it's customary to open a gift in private. Never open a gift in front of the giver. If you do this, it might cause anxiety over your reaction to what that person has gifted you. Wait until you are away from that person to open it. Then do something to show your appreciation, such as a little card expressing gratitude or something else

Prior to taking photos, always ask permission

-It might sound strange, but in Japan, it's always good to ask for permission prior to taking photos, especially in sacred places. Asking for permission prior to snapping that picture shows that you respect the privacy of that place

Respect for the elderly is a must

-Japan is a nation that places high value on respecting the elderly. You can show your respect to the elderly by offering them your seat on public transportation. This is deeply ingrained into traditional Japanese values

Don't haggle

-Haggling the price down to something specific might work in some countries, but in Japan it doesn't work. Prices are at set rates at Japanese markets. Bargaining is not common, so don't bother trying to haggle the price down on an item you would like to buy

Don't block the way

-There is a flow and rhythm to the way people move in Japan. Move in the right directions and avoid just standing in one spot. You might block someone who is on their way somewhere

Keep your phone on silent

-It might be tempting to keep your phone on vibrate or have the ringtone turned up to hear it, should you risk missing an important call. But in Japan, it's customary to keep phones on silent, especially on public transportation to maintain a peaceful environment

The Missing Ink: A Tattoo Shop Mystery by Karen E. Olson (Tattoo Shop Mystery #1)

This is a recent series of books I found that I love. Not only because they are murder mystery stories (which I love!), but it also involves a tattoo shop. I don't know why, but the whole idea of a murder mystery series set around the culture of tattoos is fascinating
Summary
-Brett Kavanaugh is the pretty and tattooed owner of The Painted Lady, a high class tattoo shop masquerading as a high class art shop in Las Vegas. She works with an interesting assortment of employees. It's just another day at the shop. A woman comes in wanting a typical devotion tattoo of a heart with her fiancée's name in it. One problem, though-the name is not that of her fiancée. When the woman mysteriously disappears and turns up dead later, it's up to Kavanaugh to investigate, despite her cop older brother's repeated warnings to stay out of it. And to make matters worse, the main person of interest in the case is her rival, Jeff Coleman. He owns and runs a tattoo shop called Murder Ink, in a bad part of town, specializing in flash (stock designs you see in the flip-through boards in tattoo shops)

Day 20-Things to Do Before You Die

Sort of like a bucket list
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

Meet someone famous
-I've already done this with Def Leppard. Me and my sister had meet-and-greet tickets to Def Leppard when they played here in Cincinnati, OH in May 2018. The photographer had to tell my sister to relax while I was standing next to Rick Savage, the bassist and trying not to blow a microchip. It was only when we were around the corner and out of earshot that we had our little freakouts about being near our favorite member of Def Leppard.
-I would love to meet Iron Maiden. I've seen countless interviews and they all seem like genuinely nice, down to earth guys with a lot of funny stories to tell. If you need evidence of this, watch Flight 666. I laughed at parts of that movie, such as when Adrian Smith is being interviewed in a t-shirt and towel around his waist and bare feet. Or when a crew member is being interviewed and in the background you see Bruce Dickinson in underwear and socks getting his stage clothes off a hanger. Plus, me and my sister both have favorites in the band. I like Dave Murray because I think he is still handsome and has a nice personality. My other favorite is Steve Harris because he's still handsome. My sister's single favorite is Dave Murray. She thinks he is so handsome for his age
-I wouldn't mind meeting Ritchie Blackmore. From this documentary I have seen and own on DVD about him, The Ritchie Blackmore Story, he does not seem arrogant as people have made him out to be. Opinionated? Yes. Demanding? Probably. He's probably demanding on himself, who knows. But he seems like a really sweet, nice, quiet guy who loves his privacy. I mean, imagine it. You're a musician in a really successful band. People are hounding you all the time. Yeah, you're going to want privacy. I read a book about him called Black Knight: Ritchie Blackmore by Jerry Bloom. It's a good book, but the person who wrote it seems to make Ritchie out to be almost like a bully, pulling pranks on people but getting bent out of shape when they turn the tables on him. And if that is how he really is, then okay, fine. I still think he's a cool guy. Although it would do him some good to learn about the values of monogamy, learning to stay with the one you love and not cheat. He seems to have finally learned that with his current music partner Candice Night. Plus, I've been a pretty big Deep Purple fan since high school and it was only after reading Black Knight: Ritchie Blackmore by Jerry Bloom that I discovered the band Rainbow and quickly became a fan of that band as well.

He looks very happy here. I'm happy for him.

Travel the world
-I want to travel to see various places in the world. I want my sister right there with me. We had our fights and troubles when we were younger. What siblings don't fight? But we seem to have grown closer over the years and it seems like we're best friends who do everything together-concerts, tattoos, special events and vacations. I would take my sister on vacation with me. I would love to take her to London with me because she is a massive punk rock fan and what better place for a lover of all things punk to go than London? I also want to take her with me to Australia to sightsee. If I can or if she wants to, either one of us could buy tickets to an AFL (Australian Football League) game, known as Aussie Rules football. She loves this incredibly violent sport known to some as "kill the man with the ball". Any places she wants to go, I'm sure she'll ask me just as I would ask her.

Fall in Love
-I wouldn't mind this. But I feel like my massive lack of self-confidence and self-esteem would push anyone away. Not only that, I have very massive trust issues and trust very few people. I have issues with opening up to people I don't know. I always try and find some common ground that me and the other person has in common, but if me and that person have nothing in common, why bother talking to them?

Go back to school
-I wouldn't mind going back to school if I knew something I was interested in and passionate about. My biological father drove all ideas and passions from my head. He told me and my sister that no matter how hard we worked toward something, it would never happen. Dreams are for suckers. That we would just be better off going the safe route and getting a regular job like everyone else and not bother with college. That we would never find a job in that market anyway. He also told us that if we couldn't do good in school, what good were we in college?

2018: What a Year!!

Like every year, there are the highest of highs and lowest of lows. My year has been, in one word, interesting.

Was laid off for the first time and got a new job three weeks later.
-On 10/26/2018, I was laid off from my job. I worked as an Image Processor I for US Bancorp. My job had me scanning and processing financial documents all day. A few weeks before I was laid off, our big boss, Jane Biessener, had come in from Milwaukee, where she works. Apparently changes had been underway and of course, my department had no knowledge. The week of 10/26, we were told that changes would be happening. That Wednesday before I got laid off, I was called into a meeting with our boss Jane along with two of my coworkers, Pixie and Carrie. We were told, in no uncertain terms, that the Cincinnati location would be shut down due to that magical word called "restructuring". In my opinion, that means "We don't need you. Find a new job!" Of course, I cried because I had never had that happen. And as always, the HR rep told us that he would help us find a job. YEAH RIGHT! He did fuck all to help us. We were on our own. But, enough on the negativity. I applied for jobs and I did it hard. I was thankful and lucky enough to land a new job three weeks later. In fact, on the very day that I would have had to file for my severance pay, which was 11/26, that was my first day in a new department, still in US Bank. I am now a Lockbox Clerk 2. I process payments for retail. I have been working there for four happy weeks. I feel a lot calmer and a lot less stressed out here than at my last job. I only have two words- THANK GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Got two more tattoos.
-I should really post photos. I had gotten two more tattoos. I have a tattoo on the inside of my left forearm. I have always been fascinated by those tear away tattoos that tattoo artists refer to as "skin rips". I have a "skin rip" tattoo on the inside of my left forearm with the English flag inside. It's to represent part of my heritage, since I found out that I have 8% Great Britain in my heritage. Boy, that certainly does explain a thing or two. The other tattoo I have is on the inside of my right calf. It's of the Disney character Mulan. It represents my love of/appreciation for/interest in Chinese culture and history.

Bought tickets to see Iron Maiden
-Yes, that's right. This girl and her family are going to see Iron Maiden. Ironically enough, the day that the tickets went on sale for Iron Maiden Fan Club members is also the day I was interviewing for my current job. While waiting for the manager to come to the lobby, I was playing Beat the Clock and trying to buy the best Iron Maiden tickets I could. It was hard doing it on a smartphone and trying to be fast about getting four tickets. But, I got them, and strangely enough, I am in the same exact general vicinity as I was when me and my family had gone to see Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. Which means I will have excellent photos!!!!!
Seen Lynyrd Skynyrd/.38 Special
-What really irritated me about this night was that .38 Special was supposed to play for an hour. They only got 45 minutes, which confuses me. Then, of course, Hank Williams Jr. comes on and does a two hour show like he thinks he's the headliner. He is, no offense to any fans, trashy to me. He had to keep changing hats for every song. He spit on the stage, which is about as uncouth as it is possible to be, and he had to keep throwing politics in between his songs. He is just absurdly trashy and uncouth. Not only that, these two older gentlemen kept hitting on me and my sister with their wives right there. But, all in all, seeing Lynyrd Skynyrd was amazing. My sister had bought the tickets, which were thankfully very reasonable. I know it made my mom happy because she said that "Free Bird" was played at her graduation. She had been a fan since she was a kid and it made her feel almost on the verge of tears to know she could see them on the tour they dubbed "Last of the Street Survivors" tour, named after their album Street Survivors. That show was amazing!!!!! If .38 Special ever goes on tour again, I'm buying tickets so that we can see two hours of .38 Special, not two hours of some hillbilly hick who changes hats repeatedly and basically believes everyone should support our idiot president and who spits on the stage like he owns it.
.38 Special

Lynyrd Skynyrd

Seen Judas Priest/Deep Purple again
-Yes, we have now seen these two bands twice. We saw Deep Purple for the first time in September of last year when they had come to Cincinnati to play at the Riverbend Music Center with Alice Cooper. And just this past August, they had come once again to play with Judas Priest, who was touring their recently released Firepower album. Man oh man does Judas Priest know how to rock!! I loved seeing the look on my sister's face when Rob Halford rode out on his Harley, done up in Firepower artwork to sing "Hell Bent for Leather". Another cool thing is that two of the roadies for Priest were raising money for Parkinson's Disease research by charging $5 to get a photo on the motorcycle Rob would ride. Of course, me and my sister both chipped in for three good reasons: A.) it goes to a good cause, B.) We're fans of Judas Priest and we both knew Rob would ride that bike C.) It was because of Glenn Tipton recently being diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease and we both thought he was the good looking one.

-As for Deep Purple, they were good, but a lot of their songs were long extended jam sessions. A lot of the songs they played I was not familiar with, like "Maybe I'm a Leo", "Wring That Neck", "Lazy" "Perfect Strangers", "It's Good to Be King". The songs they played that I did know were "Knocking At Your Back Door", "Strange Kind of Woman", "Woman from  Tokyo", "Space Truckin'", "Hush", "Smoke on the Water", "Highway Star". When we had seen Deep Purple the first time, they had ended the show with "Smoke on the Water". This past time they ended with "Hush". No disrespect to Ian Gillan, his voice seems to have taken on a nasally tone. He bobs and dodges around the high notes. I mean, I know he's getting older and probably can't do that high stuff anymore, which is fine. But it does seem like his voice is going out. Sadly, I think I'm starting to know what Ritchie Blackmore was thinking when he did those last few albums with Deep Purple and and how Ian's voice is just awful.
Found two more autobiographies that I read and loved
-That's right. I'm constantly looking for interesting rock or metal bios. I found two that I read and loved. Black Knight: Ritchie Blackmore by Jerry Bloom and Heavy Duty: Days and Nights in Judas Priest by K.K. Downing. The book about Ritchie Blackmore is a biography while the book about K.K. was written by him. I love books like this because sometimes the person will inject their own little thoughts and they are hilarious. Reading about K.K. certainly was eye opening. I never knew that he had such deep resentment for Glenn Tipton. Of course, they got along, but it seemed like it was just for the band's sake and not personal sake. As for Ritchie, reading that book was interesting. Of course, with him talking about the band Rainbow, I ended up going on the internet and listening to Rainbow's music and am now a fan. I want to get some of their albums. The song I like best is "Street of Dreams" from their album Bent Out of Shape. It has that nice pop-rock melody to it. No wonder it's Ritchie's favorite song.

Seen a cool movie about the band Queen called Bohemian Rhapsody. Also saw the new Halloween movie.
-The new movie Bohemian Rhapsody is awesome. It's essentially about how the band formed and how they played their famous gig at Live Aid. It's awesome. The new Halloween movie is interesting as well. It's definitely not for kids, which leads me to wonder why people had their children, aged 10 or under, in there. There was one part where the psychiatrist looking after Michael Myers gets his head stomped on and it bursts like a pumpkin dropped off a freeway overpass. Another part involves two police officers getting killed, one with a bullet to the heart and the other with his head removed, hollowed out like a pumpkin and his flashlight inserted inside. Not suitable for children

My mom had her first car crash in 41 years and was robbed highway robbery-style
-My mom had her first car crash when she was 16. A car had rear ended her not paying attention. Once again, things have come full circle. Friday night my mom had been rear ended by a box truck on I-75, coming back from Florence, Kentucky, where she works. It had been raining, which almost always guarantees the roads will be slick. My mom, of course, was taking her time because it was stop-and-go traffic. This box truck, not paying attention, had no time to stop and it rear ended her. Luckily, she was able to get off to the right side of the road. She was ready to murder the driver, lol. She was swearing left, right and center at him and of course, he says that there's no need to cuss, lady. The Fort Mitchell Police had come and collected her purse along with the ambulance who was there to take her to St. Elizabeth in Edgewood. After finding out that, thankfully, she had no broken bones, but mostly just a sprained back, wrist and shoulders, she was allowed to go home. Yesterday morning, we had gone out to collect her bag from work, which contains her Amazon Kindle Fire table, which she uses to read e-books, her MP3 player, a couple of spare phone chargers and a pair of brand new eyeglasses, which she uses when she takes out her contacts, we find the car is unlocked and the bag gone. Someone had robbed my mother. It's that old highway logic-broken down car, let's see what valuables are inside. And with it being right before Christmas, there might be Christmas gifts inside. My mom had been robbed!!

-The Fort Mitchell Police HAD NOT locked up my mom's car, as she was told. She was enraged, on fire, furious, every word for angry. And if you know her like me and my sister do, she cries when she gets angry. She kept saying "I hate people". I do not blame her. Luckily, my sister was able to contact Amazon customer service and have the Kindle shut down, unable to be re-registered. Because when my mom would buy e-books, her credit card information was on it. My sister talked to Amazon and told them the situation. That my mom's Kindle had been stolen. That she wanted it wiped completely clean so no one could use it. That it was only her Kindle that would be wiped clean, not her actual Amazon account. That all the books she had bought would still be available via the Amazon Cloud. So now, whoever gets that Kindle, thinking they have a new one, will be unable to use it. When they contact Customer Service to get it activated and read off the serial number, it will register as stolen. So it's now a $50 coffee table decoration. As for the MP3 player, the cord to charge it was also in there, so they now have a used MP3 player. Just hope they mind the buttons sticking. Sucks to be them! Luckily, me and my sister have my mom covered. My sister ordered my mom a new canvas bag with dolphins on it (my mom has a thing for dolphins) and I ordered a new Kindle Fire after Christmas, when they go on sale, for my mom. I'm even ordering a new tablet cover for her. I want purple because my mom loves purple; it's her favorite color. But she went ahead and bought herself a new 16 GB MP3 player. So, essentially, me and my sister did our good deed for the day. I also did another good deed- buying lunch for my mom. She's diabetic and if her sugar drops, she gets lethargic. I bought Subway for her since she didn't have breakfast.

-The point of this little situation is-I HATE PEOPLE! I've always hated people who think of only themselves and no one else. It seems to get increasingly worse the closer it gets to Christmas. People want to fight and be stupid over the things that don't even matter. To make matters worse, because of the idiots at the Fort Mitchell Police Department, my mom was robbed. She called them and told them she was robbed and they didn't seem to take it seriously. Like they thought a $50 Amazon Kindle Fire, a $60 MP3 player and a pair of $200 progressive-lens glasses was no big deal. Like it was low priority for them, when they had more important things to worry about, like useless idiots OD'ing on heroin or other drugs. They blew it off, saying they would "look into it". Which translates into "Lady, we have more important things to worry about than some tablet, glasses and an MP3 player". It's because of police officers like this that I have a hard time respecting men in uniform sometimes. These kind of police officers don't seem to take their job seriously, investigating a robbery, which is their job, look at it like "what do you want me to do about it?" while the ones who DO take their job seriously are not trusted by others. They do their job and investigate it and get nothing in return.

Saw Def Leppard/Journey
-We saw these two bands in May. I saw Def Leppard already, so it was my second time seeing them while for my sister, it was her first time seeing Def Leppard. It was both our first time seeing Journey live, though. My sister had bought the tickets and when she looked at the price later, it was hideously expensive. She couldn't figure out why until she looked at the breakdown of costs on the tickets. She had, unknowingly, bought a VIP meet-and-greet with Def Leppard. When she realized that, I think she blew a few microchips. The thought of meeting Def Leppard and getting a photo next to Joe Elliott and Phil Collen was enough to make my sister happy. When the blessed night came, she made sure to wear all her Leppard gear. What cracked me and my sister up, though, was when we got inside US Bank Arena, where the concert was, there were two lines-one for VIP meet-and-greet with Journey and one for Def Leppard. Everyone got in the line they thought was for Leppard, but turned out to be Journey. I never seen a line of people move so fast, rofl. Anyway, me and my sister, and about a hundred other people, mostly women, were in line to do the meet-and-greet. There was a black woman holding a child backstage with them and of course, now the rumor mill was up and running about who it was. Every one there thought it was Phil Collen's wife Helen, but it couldn't be. She was in L.A. and had just given birth to a baby. She wouldn't be able to fly just yet. It might have been the girlfriend or even wife of one of the other band members. I didn't ask because I felt it was not my concern. We got the photo, the photographer telling my sister to relax, lol. For her, it's hard to relax when Joe Elliott and Phil Collen are RIGHT BEHIND YOU! I was calm as ever, being near Vivian Campbell and Rick Savage, but inside, I was dancing like an idiot, jumping for joy! The concert, both bands, were amazing. When Def Leppard came on, they did a mix of early and new material, like "Rock Rock ('til You Drop)", "Let It Go", "Pour Some Sugar on Me", "Hysteria", "Animal", "Foolin'", "Love Bites", "Armageddon It", "Man Enough", "Invincible", "Undefeated", etc.

Keeper by Amy Daws (Harris Brothers series Book 3)

This is the third book in the Harris Brothers series
Summary
-As the youngest member of the Harris Brothers, Booker Harris is a Bethnal Green FC player as well. He's tired of living in the shadow of his older brothers Camden and Tanner. He's managed to carve out a path in life for himself-as a player on the Bethnal Green FC team instead of being just Camden and Tanner's baby brother.

-His childhood friend, Poppy McAdams, has left London to study abroad in Germany. When she returns, she is staying with Booker Harris until she finds some space of her own. Little do they both know that chemistry will soon take over and these two will be falling head over heels for one another.

Endurance by Amy Daws (Harris Brothers series Book 2)

This is the second book in the Harris Brothers series
Summary
-First and foremost, the second oldest Harris Brother, Tannis Harris, is a total manwhore. He will screw anything on two legs. He's tall, dark and handsome, with tons upon tons of tattoos. He's a footballer, playing for Bethnal Green FC, where his younger brother Camden plays as well. His most recent incident, getting caught stark naked with his hand in front of his privates, means he's just called his last shot

-Dr. Belle Ryan is your typical no-nonsense doctor who works as a surgical fellow at the same hospital where Dr. Indie Porter works. Belle's job is stressful; she works as a foetal surgeon, who is able to operate on babies inside the mother's womb to repair any damage to their tiny bodies so they can be born healthy and beautiful. Besides being a high-risk job, it's also high-stress. When Tanner tries to call Indie to come pick him up in the East End, instead it's Belle who comes, to his rescue. It's then considered an idea that both Dr. Belle Ryan and Tanner Harris should fake being a couple. It would have fringe benefits for both of them-getting the paparazzi off Tanner's back for being a total manwhore and Belle's parents off her back for getting married finally. As time goes on, the two fall in love for real.

Challenge by Amy Daws (Harris Brothers series Book 1)

As judging by the title, this book is only the first in a series called The Harris Brothers. Not shockingly, it's a romance series involving English footballers and London
Summary
-Camden Harris is one of the famous "Harris Brothers" of London football. He and his brother Tanner are both on the same team, Bethnal Green FC. Both are tall, handsome and inked. After Camden wrecks his knee, he's taken to a hospital where he first meets a doctor named Indie Porter, who is often known as "Specs" because of her choice of wild eyewear. Despite his stay in the hospital, he tries to woo her with his charm

-Indie Porter, on the other hand, is a highly intelligent doctor working at an East End London hospital. One thing she does not want to be labeled with is "30 year old virgin". She wants to meet someone to help her give life an interesting boost and she thinks that she may have just met her life booster-Camden Harris. Of course, over time, the footballer and the doctor will fall for each other hard.

The Urbz: Sims in the City

This is, yet again, another entry in The Sims series of games. This one is a bit more complex, in the sense that you can work all new jobs, get outfits native to the particular location you are at, etc. But the premise is still, more or less, the same. At each location, you have a set number of goals to accomplish and achieving these goals unlocks new items.
Summary
-The main Sim you create starts out in SimCity, at an apartment in downtown SimCity. Soon, the city's most popular Sim, Darius, comes to greet your Sim at their apartment. He mentions that he has a secret machine that can only be fixed if the Sim you control finds all the parts and defeats all the villains in each of the various districts. Some of the districts share the same villain. And to defeat them, you must earn a special social interaction. When you defeat all the villains, you are invited to Darius' penthouse, where you are greeted by the bosses of each district

Gameplay
-In each district, you must interact with various Sims to build their reputations, called "Rep" in the game. This is nothing more than a simple measure of how popular your Sim is. The higher their reputation goes, the more districts, locations they can unlock
-Just like any of the Sims games, you have needs to fulfill. They are Hunger, Comfort, Toilet, Sleep, Hygiene, Fun, Environment. You can also gain skills by playing mini-games. You can earn money through the various jobs at the various districts in the city, but you will also have to pay rent to Darius. Not surprisingly, depending on the district you are in, you will have goals particular to that location
-There are 9 total districts in this game. Each district has its own Sims, who each have their own Social Interactions you can unlock. There is also a job at each district that you must earn three promotions in to move on. Each location has a small bedroom area for your Sim to sleep in
Gasoline Row
-Resident Sims: Pork Chop, Duke Headbutt, Suzie Mack, Sharky Splitz, Jet Rockitt,
-This is a combination biker club/motorcycle shop. The job here is to make motorcycle parts and keep the customers happy by also grilling sausages on a nearby round grill. Kicktail Park

Neon East
-Resident Sims: Professor Chewy, Mazuiko Jackson, Venus Moonflower, Loop D. Loop, Sara Tonin

Cosmo Street
-Resident Sims: Fergie, Will.i.am, Apl.de.ap, Taboo, Polo

2015 in review

Since the year is coming to a close, time to look back at all that I have accomplished for this year

I went to my first music festival
-Rock on the Range, an annual hard rock/heavy metal music festival in Columbus, Ohio. It's at formerly Columbus Crew stadium, now MAPFRE Stadium. It's three days of hard rock and heavy metal, like Woodstock on steroids, lol. I got to see Judas Priest and Linkin Park in concert, in addition to tons of up and coming bands. I also got to see Slash with Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. I do think I should have seen Priest when they came to the Horseshoe Casino here in Cincinnati the next day, but then my sister wouldn't have gotten to see Linkin Park. I felt better that she could see the band and plus, I got killer pics of the band for her, so she's happy, lol!!! It's a win-win situation: we both got to see our favorite bands and she got to check out Rob Halford and Glenn Tipton, who she will think is cute until they die, lol!

I got my first car
-This happened back in August. I bought my first car. A fire engine red 2007 Chevy Aveo LT hatchback. Of course, when I tried to put in the car seat cover I got for Christmas last year, which was a Kiss Love Gun seat cover, it took me a half hour. Apparently the people who made it didn't think about the fact that some car seats have attached armrests. No matter; I simply put the cover over the armrest. I don't use the armrest anyway.

Bought a book on Phil Collen
-Being a Def Leppard fan since college, I had to read this. Not to mention Phil Collen is, in my opinion, one of the cuter members of Def Leppard. It has nothing to do with his six pack abs. He can be skinny as a rail and I'll still like him! In fact, I have to say that all the guys in Def Leppard are amazingly handsome for their age. Don't want to forget them

Bought a book on Paul Stanley
-I honestly never thought this would happen. After reading the book, I'm glad I bought it. It was a very good book. He seemed very open and honest with himself, even to the point of occasionally putting himself down. After reading about all the bullying he endured because of his ear deformity, it makes me sad to think people are like that. They bully those they see as an easy victim. But he managed to by pass all that and become a musician, a world-famous, award winning musician at that

Saw my first tribute bands
-In September, me and my sister saw our first tribute bands in concert. We never knew there were tribute bands out there. Until now. We saw Highway to Hell, an AC/DC tribute band, at Bogarts, a massive concert venue here in Cincinnati. I have to say-Highway to Hell is THE band to see if you are an AC/DC fan. You'd think the real band was playing with how good these guys are. Not to mention, what's really awesome is that one of the guys in the band, named Rod, who plays guitar, looks EXACTLY like Malcolm Young. Talk about going for authenticity. All looks aside, these guys are amazing. You need to see them if you ever get a chance.
-We also saw Mr. Speed, a Kiss tribute band thanks to free tickets we got after leaving the Highway to Hell concert. Nothing better than free tickets!!!! You put these guys and the original lineup of the real Kiss together, you won't be able to tell the difference. The guys in Mr. Speed and the guys in Kiss' original lineup look alike. There are a few differences here and there. Like in Mr. Speed, Alex Lords, who is supposed to be "Gene Simmons", has a tattoo of a bat against a moon on his right arm while Gene Simmons has no tattoos. Not to mention Mr. Speed has no egos, that we know of. Me and my sister got a picture with the band. But there was a near fight that broke out. Some people ahead of us created their own line and cut everyone and when me and my sister went up to get a picture, one of the women said rudely "I was here first". Thankfully, everyone else thought it was rude of them to do that. Including this man behind us who had his little girl with them. They both had their faces painted like Peter Criss, awesome! It was so cute, so adorable!!!!

Got three tattoos
-I never, in a million years, thought I would ever get a tattoo. But that changed. At the end of last year, I made a promise that I would get a tattoo because I wanted one and it was one thing on my bucket list. And in January of 2015, that happened. I got my peace sign daisy tattoo on my left arm, inspired by the belief that I am a darn hippie, to quote my step-dad and sister and also my love of all things 1960s and 1970s. Then in March I got my geisha tattoo on my right leg, inspired by my love of all things Japanese culture. Then in June, I got a koi fish jumping out of the water with Japanese maple leaves surrounding it.
-My mom thinks that women with too many tattoos is trashy. I don't agree with her; it all comes down to placement. If they are placed in certain spots, yes it looks good. But if they are overlapping each other, then there's a problem, but it all comes down to how you view it. Me and my sister are of the opinion that it's our bodies. We'll do with them what we want. But of course, when I said that I didn't think it was trashy, she said "Okay, go ahead and get tons of tattoos. No guy will want a woman with too many tattoos. You'll probably grow old and die alone because no man is gonna want women covered in ink. It's hillbilly-ish". I tried to be nice about it, but forget it. My mom is VERY opinionated and set in her ways. She will always think she is right. So I don't bother wasting my breath trying to prove something. And she VERY RARELY admits she's wrong! Not to mention, she's also very nosy. If I order something off the internet, she wants to know what it is. If I tell her it's a CD of Dusty Springfield, which I ordered recently for my birthday, she gave me this weird look and said "Why do you like her? She's not even remotely good". I sadly have to lie when it comes to that. Heck, when I bought a few of Iron Maiden's albums recently, she said, with that same stupid look "When did you start listening to them?" And I was honest with her. My supervisor at work listens to them and one day recently when we were not very busy, she saw me listening to my music and said "Caitlin, come here for a second". I honestly thought I was in trouble but she said simply "You like Judas Priest?" After nodding, she said "Listen to these guys. They're really similar to Priest. You might like them". And the song she played was "Flight of Icarus" by Iron Maiden. She must have seen me smiling because I liked the song and said "I take that smile that you like them. That's Iron Maiden. It's their song "Flight of Icarus" from their Piece of Mind album." Anyway, my mom is very set in her ways about everything. She thinks it's some kind of phase I'm going through because I listen to a lot of old metal. It's not a phase; I'm just trying to expand my musical tastes. That also includes some newer bands, like Avenged Sevenfold, Disturbed, Five Finger Death Punch, Sixx A.M., Velvet Revolver, Duff McKagan's Loaded, etc.

How tattoos change your life

I KNEW IT! I KNEW THERE WERE GOOD THINGS ABOUT TATTOOS!!!!!!!!!!

People often say either good things or bad things about tattoos. Some of the more typical questions are "Why did you get that?" "What does it mean?" "Aren't you worried about what it will look like when you get older?" "Did it hurt?", etc. What some don't realize is that tattoos can actually be good. Find out here how tattoos can be good and change your life.
This is usually the LAST thing people think tattoos will do. But here are some of the POSITIVE ways tattoos can help

Confidence
-It doesn't matter who you are. No matter the race, skin color, religion, sexuality, gender, etc. Tattoos are universal!! They are for everyone. To some, getting a tattoo is a rocket of confidence, launching their confidence to new heights. Tattoos can allow someone who might be meek, shy, whatever word you want to use, to express themselves and thus open themselves up to conversations with those who admire their work. And thus make possible friends. To most who have ink, the old saying "once you get one, you'll eventually want another" rings all too true. But to many, tattoos are mysterious, something you don't see quite often, but once you get a tattoo, you feel a little more confident and a little more tough.

Conversation starter
-If your ink is showing, be prepared to show and tell. There is always someone willing to talk to you about your ink, even though they may ask the typical questions "What does it mean?" or "Why did you get it?" Most likely these questions will be more out of curiosity than offense. Tattoos are a great way to network with new people, make new friends, have new conversations
Self expression
-This is one of the oldest reasons in the book for going under the needle. Tattoos are meant to show the world who you are. They are meant to show the world just what you want to tell them, whether it be your heritage, what your likes/dislikes are, your passions, hobbies, goals, your loves, support for something like the military or gay rights, etc. Your body is like a blank canvas. Tattoos are the paints you add to create a masterpiece. If someone tells you that too many is a bad thing, simply tell that person that it's your body; you do with it what you want.
Awareness
-It seems as though if you go under the needle, your Spidey sense or in this case "tattoo senses" alert you to those around you who have tattoos. You start noticing all the vast, rich and complex designs that people have. This may even spark an interest in tattoo art and history and culture
Interesting people
-It's been said that tattoos were once the mark of sailors and criminals. Nowadays, tattoos are as common as the nose on people's faces. It doesn't have to be just rockers, criminals or bikers with tattoos, as originally thought by some. Everyone probably has at least one or two tattoos. If they are dressed a certain way, you'd never know that they have tattoos unless they were in a swimsuit. By having an open mind and knowing that not everyone is like you, having tattoos is a great way of meeting interesting people, in addition to making friends with people who don't have tattoos. Also, the people around you every day may have tattoos and you may not even know it. Your friends, teachers, family members, classmates, coworkers, managers, bosses, etc. may have ink and you wouldn't know it.
-Apparently it's always been considered that only tattooed people can be friends with other tattooed people. Which is absolutely bogus!! That's not true. It simply doesn't matter if people have tattoos.
People will read you like a book
-Tattoos are definitely an eye catcher. This is your way of letting people read you, learn about you, learn about who you are as a person. This is your way of letting people find out what your likes/dislikes, loves/hates, passions, hobbies, interests, heritage, etc. is. And in the end, when you see people with tattoos, you learn about them as well
Agree to disagree
-This is very common in the world of tattooing. There's always going to be that one person who either hates it or simply doesn't get it. Not everyone will like your tattoo or get it. You got it for you, not them. Just remember the golden rule of tattoos: you got it for you, not them.
