-Had been exec. producer and creative consultant on ABC's In Concert. This featured performances from Alice Cooper, Curtis Mayfield, Seals & Crofts, Bo Diddley, The Allman Brothers, Chuck Berry, Blood, Sweat & Tears, Poco, The Steve Miller Band, Joe Walsh.
-In Sept. 1973, he left In Concert and was inspired to launch his own show, he called it Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and on the premier on Sept. 27, 1973, it was filmed in London, with the artist being none other than London's own Rolling Stones.
-The show featured other artists as well, most of them from the decade it was on. Performers included:
