-Two L.A. police detectives, Hap Eckhart and Will Dormer, have been sent to Alaska to investigate the brutal murder of a local teenager. Due to the incessant sunlight, even at midnight and the guilt of accidentally shooting his own partner, Dormer falls victim to insomnia, which causes him to be delusional. Also, one of the local detectives, Ellie Burr, begins her own investigation into Dormer's partner's death
