Black Sabbath and Iron Maiden want the laws for online sites buying concert tickets in bulk to change. Read about it here.
Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood and Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi are of the firm opinion that tickets for events are being abused. They are in favor of a law banning secondary ticket sales in the UK
A site called PutFansFirst.co.uk has been working with the House of Commons All Party Parliamentary Group for Ticket Abuse. These people believe that this industry needs strong support in the fight against ticket scalping. Online sites often buy tickets in bulk, leaving the fans scratching their heads as to how to buy a ticket that isn't worth more than most paychecks
Tony even offered his opinion on the matter "If you agree that fans should be able to sell tickets that they can’t use but not allow this to be exploited for commercial gain, here is the link". Iron Maiden's manager Rod Smallwood included his bit "Secondary ticketing excesses are a blight on live music events. Many major music managers, artists, agents and promoters have long been calling for government intervention and legislation. It would be easy – as some bands and organisations do – to jump on the gravy train and create large extra income streams at the expense of their fans. But they don’t. Why? Because they consider it cynical, long term counter-productive and immoral"
I'm a girl born in the wrong decade. I belong in the 1960s or the 1970s in my opinion. I bleed tie dye, my theme music is anything 1960s rock or 1970s rock or metal. I'm a hippie through and through. But also a hippie who loves old metal music. I believe that violence never solves anything, so why resort to it to solve problems? With all the wars the world has seen, there should be a clue somewhere in there!
