You might think you're seeing things, but no, sadly, you're not. An elderly couple was sued for playing Iron Maiden too loudly.
An elderly Swedish couple living in a quiet little retirement community in Stockholm has gotten a little trouble going for themselves. Their crime? Playing Iron Maiden too loudly.
According to a paper called Aftonbladet, the couple were getting payback on a couple who had just moved into the neighborhood and the elderly couple did this by blasting the music of the veteran English metal band. Neighbors around the Swedish Maiden fans say the issues started in October when the new neighbors arrived and their sex life was more than just loud and boisterous. The couple would have all night matches of love making.
The couple, 81 and 71 years old, who remain unnamed, weren't going to have it. They made noise too, but noise of the more metal variety. They tossed some Maiden into a stereo and cranked the volume as high as it would let them. It got to the point where the police had to forcibly enter the couple's home while the song "Afraid to Shoot Strangers", an epic written by Steve Harris about the Gulf War, was playing. The only charge the couple was facing was harassment.
