Bill Goldberg (wrestler)

This massively tall wrestler is known simply for wearing black trunks and black boots. Nothing outstanding about his wrestling costume. He is, however, known for his devastating roundhouse kicks, which are said to be powerful enough to take chunks of brick out of a wall

-Some of his trademark wrestling moves include:

  • Jackhammer (suplex powerslam)
  • Spear
  • Pumphandle drop
  • Single arm chokehold then gorilla press powerslam
  • Superkick (those devastating roundhouse kicks)

-Prior to wrestling, he played football for the University of Georgia Bulldogs. He also played pro football with the NFL. The teams he played for were the Atlanta Falcons and Los Angeles Rams. His career in football ended when all of his abdominal muscles were torn from his pelvis and required surgical reattachment

-His wrestling debut was on Sept. 22, 1997

-Became a WCW World Champion on April 21, 1998 after defeating Raven. This reign lasted until July 26, 1998, when he gave the title to Hulk Hogan

-He worked as a bouncer for a short time

-In addition to playing football for the University of Georgia, he also has a degree in psychology from the University of Georgia

-His first WCW loss was against Chad Fortune on July 24, 1997 in a WCW dark match

-During filming for Looney Tunes: Back in Action, actor Brendan Fraser was so intimidated by Goldberg that Fraser was afraid to hit him. Goldberg said "Go ahead, do it. It's what I do for a living."

-He ended Bret Hart's career in wrestling when he botched a roundhouse kick to Bret's head, giving Bret a severe concussion, which later resulted in a massive stroke

-His former WCW tag team partner was Bret Hart

-Since he is good friends with Japanese wrestlers Nobuhiko Takada and Naoya Ogawa, he appeared at several Japanese wrestling events

-His entrance to the ring involved loud pyro effects showering him with hot sparks

-Because he is proud of his Jewish heritage, he refuses to work on the High Holidays, such as Yom Kippur and Passover

-Left WWE after WrestleMania XX because of the way the creative team was handling his character

-He made a return to WWE in late 2016 through early 2017 so his young son could see him wrestle

-He returned to wrestling for one year because he was sick of fans asking "Why don't you wrestle anymore?"
