How does Beyoncé get nominated for Best Rock Performance?
Somehow, IDK how, Beyoncé was nominated for Best Rock Performance at this year's Grammys. All because she did a song with White Stripes singer Jack White. She and him did a song called "Don't Hurt Yourself". With this song out, people all over are declaring "Rock is dead!"
Don't musicians usually write their own songs? Anyone who knows anything about Beyoncé knows that while she is a great musician, something that not everyone knows is that she does not write her own songs. Someone else writes them and she just performs them. She probably gets all the credit for what others do.
I would love to see her go up to someone like Steve Harris of Iron Maiden and say she writes her own music. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! The look on his face would be priceless!!
I'm a girl born in the wrong decade. I belong in the 1960s or the 1970s in my opinion. I bleed tie dye, my theme music is anything 1960s rock or 1970s rock or metal. I'm a hippie through and through. But also a hippie who loves old metal music. I believe that violence never solves anything, so why resort to it to solve problems? With all the wars the world has seen, there should be a clue somewhere in there!

What an idiot!
Kanye West is being stupid again. Not a shocker. Once again, he is taking a Grammy away from a musician and saying that Beyoncé deserves it. For all anyone knows, he's probably thinking that because both he and she are black. Who knows. Kanye's really getting a lot of musicians fired up though.
For those unfamiliar with the situation at hand. Kanye went onstage and took away the Grammy from American singer-songwriter Beck, saying that he thought Beyoncé was more deserving of it. Last time I checked, Beck writes and sings his own songs while Beyoncé needs like 4 or 5 people to write songs for her.
Nikki Sixx blasted Kanye. So did Doobie Brothers member Michael McDonald. According to McDonald "I don’t think it even really bears too much thought. It’s pretty obvious what Kanye’s problem is. When Kanye gets to a point where he can actually put a couple of notes together either vocally or two bars of valid music playing an instrument, then he might have a right to criticize somebody else. Until then, I think he’s just talking to hear the sound of his own voice."
Also, KISS guitarist Paul Stanley was among the first to criticize West, suggesting Beck kick Kanye in the nuts

Grammy Drama
It seems that one year of the Grammys can't go by without Kanye West screwing something up. This year, he pulled a Taylor Swift-like stunt. He got up when American singer-songwriter Beck was awarded with Best Album of the Year. As usual, Kanye got up and took the award away from him forcefully. It seems that KISS guitarist Paul Stanley has Beck's back, saying that Beck should have kicked Kanye in the nuts.
According to Paul "Beck should’ve kicked Kanye right in the nuts and said, ‘Get the f— of MY stage!" Kanye, once again had problems with Beck getting the award over Beyoncé. At the 2009 VMAs, Taylor Swift got an award over Beyoncé.
"I don’t even know what [Beck] said. I just know that, the Grammys, if they want real artists to keep coming back, they need to stop playing with us. … And Beck needs to respect artistry, he should have given his award to Beyoncé. At this point, we tired of it. What happens is, when you keep on diminishing art, and not respecting the craft, and smacking people in the face after they deliver monumental feats of music, you’re disrespectful to inspiration. We, as musicians, have to inspire people who go to work every day, and they listen to that Beyoncé album, and they feel like it takes them to a different place. … I am here to fight for creativity. That’s why I didn’t say anything tonight, but you all knew what it meant when ‘Ye stepped on that stage". This is what that idiot Kanye said.

Apparently Paul Stanley Says He Doesn't Need the R&R Hall of Fame to Be Famous
You heard it right. Paul Stanley of KISS fame says he does not need to be associated with the R&R Hall of Fame to be famous. The reason for this is KISS has been overlooked for years about becoming inducted into the famous rock museum, especially when they induct musicians who aren't even rock into it, like Grandmaster Flash. He's not rock, he's RAP!
He told the Huffington Post “Look, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is marketing,” “You’ve got a bunch of faceless people in a back room who trademark a name that sounds very official. Well, if you had thought of it first, you would have been the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”
He also added, “I would certainly accept on their behalf because it seems to be a major sore spot for them, but I don’t need the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”

Somehow, These Legends Have NEVER Won a Grammy Award
Grammy
These artists have never and I mean NEVER won a Grammy award for their totally awesome music
Queen
-Even in 2013, long after the death of their iconic lead singer Freddie Mercury, these rockers have yet to actually win a Grammy. Hopefully, their time will come soon and they'll win a Grammy
The Who
-You gotta be kidding me! When you stop and think about the long career these guys have had, it's suprising to know they've never actually won this fantastic music award. Well, hopefully, they'll win sometime
The Doors
-Obviously there are people who don't like these guys
Led Zeppelin
-Seriously? I would have voted for these guys. I may not listen to them, but I think they totally rock. And something cool to add is lately on the classic rock music stations I get around me on the radio, they've been doing something called "Get the Led Out" meaning they toss in some Led Zep between their normal playlist. But, these guys have yet to win a Grammy. I'm not sure why; they're popular enough and have enough music out there
Jimi Hendrix
-Never won a Grammy

The 11 Tag Post
Here are the rules.
1) Post these rules.
2) Post 11 random things about yourself
3) Answer the questions the tagger set for you in their post
4) Create 11 new questions for the people you tag to answer
5) Go to their blog and tell them they’ve been tagged
6) No cop-outs in the tagging section like, “If you are reading this” or “if you follow me”. You have to legitimately tag people!
Pt. 2
1.)I'm the biggest tomboy alive! I'd rather dress in jeans and a rockband shirt than mini skirt and cute t-shirt.
2.)When I was a kid, I watched all the stuff my parents watched on TV and in movies, like Are You Being Served and Keeping Up Appearances on TV, James Bond and Star Wars on the screen.
3.)In high school, I was a total dork! Probably not all that different now...
4.)I wish I could go back to the 1960s, see what the 'Swinging London' times were like. Maybe catch a Beatles concert?
5.)My celeb crushes: Jamie Bamber from Law and Order: UK. Those baby blues of his melt me, and Jim Sturgess from Across the Universe, cuz he looks like a cross between a young Paul McCartney and a young George Harrison, and his accent, omg, gorgeous!!
7.)When it comes to movies, I love movies with music and singing(Across the Universe, Goodbye Mr. Chips, etc), action(Rambo, etc), futuristic, sci-fi(Freejack, Blade Runner, etc.) Romance(Sleepless in Seattle, Love Actually, Ghost, etc), comedy(Monty Python's The Holy Grail, Caddyshack, etc)
![]() |
| My dad got me hooked on this one!! |
8.)In my opinion, school feels like prison. You're here for a certain amount of time, the food sucks, you have teachers telling you what to do like prison guards and you're surrounded by annoying, stupid people.
9.)One dream I want to accomplish some day is to travel to another country, maybe England, China, Australia, Japan, Italy or maybe Russia. Russian history is a fascination of mine
10.)I'm completely fascinated by world history
11.)I have 3 different game systems to play video games on: GameBoy Advance, PS2, Wii which I play Just Dance on alot and I mean ALOT. Must explain how I dropped nearly 30 pounds!
Pt. 3. Hopefully these are the questions I have to answer.
1: Favorite Video Game
-Crap, such a hard choice. Either Jet Li: Rise to Honor or True Crime: Streets of L.A.
2: Favorite Live Action Fiction TV Series (does not include comedies)
-Hmm. Does the BBC show Primeval count?
3: Have you listened to an audiobook? If so what is the best one you have listened to
-Never listened to audiobooks. I prefer to read a book, idk why.
4: Do you believe in Bigfoot, UFOs, or Ghosts.
-I believe in ghosts. I believe the ghost of my dad is still hanging around. :D
5: What is your favorite Baseball team? If you don't like Baseball what is your favorite sports team.
-Not too big on baseball. I'm more of a soccer girl, baseball is okay. I root for the home team, the Cincinnati Reds. And soccer is a sport I watch avidly. IDK why, but I like watching the Premier League(England) Soccer and the Italian League Soccer or football in those countries.
6: What is your opinion of The Lord of the Rings Trilogy (or if you haven't seen them, do you want to watch them)
-I really like the last one, The Return of the King. I guess that's slightly my dad coming out. He loved that one too, so that's something me and him had in common. Our love of movies
7: What is the best movie you have seen in the theaters
-Tough choice between Harry Potter and the deathly Hallows, pt. II and Rugrats in Paris
8: Do you like or dislike the Star Wars Prequels (if you haven't seen the Star Wars prequel trilogy do you want to see the any of the Star Wars movies)
-Does this mean the ones from the 1970s and 1980s? Because if, so, yup!!
9: What movie quote do you use most often in normal conversation?
10: Do you like or dislike older movies in general (before 1980)
-Heck no, I love all those old movies, I live for them.
11: Marvel vs. DC, which is your favorite (please note if you have not seen many movies from either franchise)
-Marvel, baby!!! Love it!!
Pt. 4
1.)If you could get married anywhere at any time, where and why?
2.)Who would you date or marry? Rich or famous, young or old, doesn't matter
3.)Who is your celebrity crush?
4.)Who would you love to meet someday? A deceased family member? Someone famous? Someone in your family, perhaps?
5.)What's one thing you want to accomplish in your life?
6.)What's one quirky thing about you that makes you unique?
7.)Do you believe in true love?
8.)If you could go back to any period in time, when and why?
9.)What musician would you love to see in concert and what tour of that musician would you love to see?
10.)If you could own any car, real or fake, movie or real life, what would it be?
11.)What's you favorite holiday?

Hola! Do I have a blog for you! Did everyone watch the CMA's last night? Taylor Swift didn't win a thing, at least I don't think she did. When every category came up and she was nominated, and didn't win, I jumped for joy. She's only 19, she doesn't know good country music if the music bug bit her repeatedly. I was so glad to see some of those other country artists win, like the Zac Brown Band, I've listened to them before, I'm really thinking about renting one of their CD's from the library and downloading it to my MP3. And Carrie Underwood sang one of my favorite songs last night, Songs Like This, but my dad says most of her songs have to do with destruction, I don't think that.
But I was so glad to see Taylor Swift not win anything. She seriously needs to realize she is not that good, I know she has a lot of fans, but come on, Taylor Swift stinks. Darius Rucker is 20 million times better than her. Everyone on that show was completely better than her.
