What this movie is about is a ballet dancer in high school named Sara Johnson(Julia Stiles) hopes to get into Julliard. But she fails her audition. She moves in with her dad after her mom died in a car crash trying to get to the audition. When she goes to a new school, she discovers she's only one of a handful of girls, and she befriends a single mother named Chenille. She also learns how to hip hop dance from her brother Derek.
