Chow Yun-fat was born on May 18, 1955, on Lamma Island, in Hong Kong, China. His nicknames include Fat Tsai or Fatt Korr(as in Big Brother). He is 6'1'', and therefore considered to be taller than most Chinese standards. He got his first taste of fame by doing movies with HK(Hong Kong) director John Woo.

In his movies with John Woo, he is often seen with a toothpick in his mouth, and can also be seen with dark shades on and twin guns(usually 2 Beretta .92s) during a gunfight.
