This show is a 2010 re-make of the old 1969 show. On the new one, here's the cast:
- Alex O'Loughlin- Comm. Steve McGarrett. On the old 1969 show, Jack Lord plays McGarett. The character O'Loughlin plays is fluent in Hawaiian and Chinese and also a former military man
- Scott Caan- Det. Danny 'Danno' Williams- Transferred from the Newark, NJ police dept. to Honolulu Police Dept. when his ex-wife Rachel moved to Hawaii with his daughter Grace
- Daniel Dae Kim- Chin Ho Kelly. Ex-member of HPD. His character left the HPD after being accused of corruption.
- Grace Park- Kono Kalakaua, Chin Ho's cousin, and professional surfer and recent HPD academy graduate
Basically this show is about a special task force arranged by the Governor of Hawaii(Jean Smart) and she makes McGarett the head because they don't have a normal task force or police force. On the show, the HQ for Five-O is located in Aliiolani Hale, with a statue of King Kamehameha. In real life, this is the location of the Hawaii State Judiciary. Most of the time, episodes may involve the Triads(Chinese mob) or Yakuza(Japanese mob)
