Day 20-Things to Do Before You Die

Sort of like a bucket list
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

Meet someone famous
-I've already done this with Def Leppard. Me and my sister had meet-and-greet tickets to Def Leppard when they played here in Cincinnati, OH in May 2018. The photographer had to tell my sister to relax while I was standing next to Rick Savage, the bassist and trying not to blow a microchip. It was only when we were around the corner and out of earshot that we had our little freakouts about being near our favorite member of Def Leppard.
-I would love to meet Iron Maiden. I've seen countless interviews and they all seem like genuinely nice, down to earth guys with a lot of funny stories to tell. If you need evidence of this, watch Flight 666. I laughed at parts of that movie, such as when Adrian Smith is being interviewed in a t-shirt and towel around his waist and bare feet. Or when a crew member is being interviewed and in the background you see Bruce Dickinson in underwear and socks getting his stage clothes off a hanger. Plus, me and my sister both have favorites in the band. I like Dave Murray because I think he is still handsome and has a nice personality. My other favorite is Steve Harris because he's still handsome. My sister's single favorite is Dave Murray. She thinks he is so handsome for his age
-I wouldn't mind meeting Ritchie Blackmore. From this documentary I have seen and own on DVD about him, The Ritchie Blackmore Story, he does not seem arrogant as people have made him out to be. Opinionated? Yes. Demanding? Probably. He's probably demanding on himself, who knows. But he seems like a really sweet, nice, quiet guy who loves his privacy. I mean, imagine it. You're a musician in a really successful band. People are hounding you all the time. Yeah, you're going to want privacy. I read a book about him called Black Knight: Ritchie Blackmore by Jerry Bloom. It's a good book, but the person who wrote it seems to make Ritchie out to be almost like a bully, pulling pranks on people but getting bent out of shape when they turn the tables on him. And if that is how he really is, then okay, fine. I still think he's a cool guy. Although it would do him some good to learn about the values of monogamy, learning to stay with the one you love and not cheat. He seems to have finally learned that with his current music partner Candice Night. Plus, I've been a pretty big Deep Purple fan since high school and it was only after reading Black Knight: Ritchie Blackmore by Jerry Bloom that I discovered the band Rainbow and quickly became a fan of that band as well.

He looks very happy here. I'm happy for him.

Travel the world
-I want to travel to see various places in the world. I want my sister right there with me. We had our fights and troubles when we were younger. What siblings don't fight? But we seem to have grown closer over the years and it seems like we're best friends who do everything together-concerts, tattoos, special events and vacations. I would take my sister on vacation with me. I would love to take her to London with me because she is a massive punk rock fan and what better place for a lover of all things punk to go than London? I also want to take her with me to Australia to sightsee. If I can or if she wants to, either one of us could buy tickets to an AFL (Australian Football League) game, known as Aussie Rules football. She loves this incredibly violent sport known to some as "kill the man with the ball". Any places she wants to go, I'm sure she'll ask me just as I would ask her.

Fall in Love
-I wouldn't mind this. But I feel like my massive lack of self-confidence and self-esteem would push anyone away. Not only that, I have very massive trust issues and trust very few people. I have issues with opening up to people I don't know. I always try and find some common ground that me and the other person has in common, but if me and that person have nothing in common, why bother talking to them?

Go back to school
-I wouldn't mind going back to school if I knew something I was interested in and passionate about. My biological father drove all ideas and passions from my head. He told me and my sister that no matter how hard we worked toward something, it would never happen. Dreams are for suckers. That we would just be better off going the safe route and getting a regular job like everyone else and not bother with college. That we would never find a job in that market anyway. He also told us that if we couldn't do good in school, what good were we in college?

Day 19-3 Wishes

This will be hard
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

To be beautiful
-I wish I be more beautiful. If anything, I probably look like Georgia May Jagger's ugly sister. I have full lips, a very slight gap in my teeth and skin so fair it could probably burst into flame on a sunny day, despite the fact I lay out in the sun every summer. Not only that, but with the late hours I have been working, I can only eat a little something before having to go to bed, so I am basically starving myself and I am unable to work out because of the long hours

Travel
-I've been dreaming of travelling to London since I was 16. I am 29, so it's a long-running dream. I have the money saved up. It's all down to actually planning it. I just want to have enough vacation time from work to do so. Right now, at work, the only people who can take off are people with enough seniority. I have hardly any. Everyone else can start requesting time off on Jan. 18, after the first major holiday of the year, Martin Luther King Jr. Day. And even then we'll be working. Any major holidays-Christmas and Thanksgiving-are the ONLY days we get off work. All other holidays-Columbus Day, President's Day, Veteran's Day, Memorial Day, etc., we have to work our full 8+ hours. But, aside from that little rant (so sorry about that), I have dreamed of travelling to London and taking my sister with me. She loooooooooves punk rock and what better place for a lover of all things punk to go than London? Where it all started?

Front row tickets for me and my family to see a concert
-I would love to have front row tickets for me and my family to see a concert. The one band that I think would strike a particular emotional cord with my mom is Lynyrd Skynyrd. She has been a fan since she was a child. Her class song when she graduated high school was "Freed Bird". We were lucky enough to be able to take her to see Skynyrd recently. When they played "Free Bird" with late front man Ronnie Van Zant's hat on the microphone, my mom was in tears. I love when me or my sister can do something that special for someone we love. If we were able to get front row tickets to Skynyrd, I bet she would be in tears once more. But, unfortunately, the only downside is that getting front row tickets or anything near that is near impossible. I already had to play Beat the Clock to get tickets to Iron Maiden because the day they went on sale, I had a job interview. I was fighting to get tickets on my phone before the person interviewing me for the job came. And it turned out the two security guards nearby were doing the same thing, judging from them saying things like "Come on, Ticketmaster. Mama wants to see Maiden!"

Day 18-What Are You Most Worried About?

ALOT!!!
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

There are a lot of things I tend to worry about. Lately, it's been trying to find a new job. I've only been at this current job for about 8 months and already it's beginning to take an emotional and physical toll on me. I work 12-13 hours a day every day. I start work at 8:30 am and sometimes do not clock out of work until 8:30 pm, sometimes 9:00 pm. I hardly see my family, I hardly eat anything when I get home because it's too late. I've lost almost 8 pounds over the course of a month because I hardly eat and because of the stress, I feel like if I eat, it'll return with vengeance. I've been looking and applying, but have heard nothing. Most likely it's because of the holidays, which is fine. I just hope to hear something in the new year. My managers have the attitude that says "We don't care if you have a bus to catch, a family to see or look after or things to do. Work comes first. Everything else needs to wait". Because of that arrogant attitude, I WANT OUT! I actually thought about applying for a job near me, in Florence, Kentucky. Working at a music store called Willis Music. I would work in the warehouse and do things like filling orders and other warehouse work. I have all the skills necessary to complete the work except for music equipment knowledge. I am pretty knowledgeable about guitars, basses, certain types of amplifiers and keyboards/pianos. But other things I would have to be trained on. I applied for it and am waiting for a response. My family thinks I would be good. They told me I would take a major pay cut from $18/hour to about $13/hour, but I told them and they know that does not bother me. It's not worth getting $18 an hour if you have to nearly kill yourself from exhaustion to do it. I'm sure most if not all medical professionals would say it's inhuman to work these long hours with management this inconsiderate. Especially if you don't get to take regular breaks

2019's Biggest Rock Stories

We all know that every day there is some big story in the world of music. 2019 seems to have hit the high water mark for history. 2020 however is strongly competing with it. Reunion tours, massive tours, releases of autobiographies/biographies of musicians? 2020 is turning out to be a great year to be a fan of music and it's not even 2020 yet! To finish off the year right, here are some of 2019's biggest stories in rock and metal

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame nominees include Soundgarden, Doobie Brothers
-Until the 202 nomination list for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame came out, the Doobie Brothers and Soundgarden were never on the list. They are next year. But, in addition to them, some of the other notables for induction include Motorhead, Thin Lizzy, Judas Priest, Pat Benatar, all of whom have been nominated but never inducted.
Kiss kick off their "End of the Road" tour
-First off, me and my sister saw their show at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, OH and it was amazing. Not only was it amazing because we were seeing them live, but it was amazing because it was my sister's first time seeing Kiss live. They played two of her favorite songs- "Beth" and I Was Made for Loving You" in addition to all her other favorites. These guys are known for having "farewell" tours. This is not shocking. But considering their ages, this might be it, who knows. Their "supposed" last show is said to be on July 17, 2020 in New York City
More farewell tours
-Obviously the musicians we love are not spring chickens anymore. Some are doing farewell concerts and tours because they are not getting any younger and can't handle the tour-album-tour cycle anymore. Elton John kicked off a farewell tour in 2018. He dubbed it the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road tour. It will continue on through 2018, 2019 and into 2020. Southern rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd are currently doing their Last of the Street Survivors tour. This one started in 2019 and will most likely carry on until 2020. Deep Purple is on tour, dubbing it The Long Goodbye. Peter Frampton is embarking on his own farewell tour after learning of his diagnosis of a rare degenerative disease that weakens his muscles, leaving him unable to play guitar, piano or anything. Other bands include Slayer on their The Final Campaign tour, UFO on their Last Orders tour and Krokus on their The Final Tour.
Cream drummer Ginger Baker dies at age 80
-This guy was an inspiration to a lot of aspiring drummers. Cream was one of the first successful trios that showed that sometimes a successful band only needs three members. He was the drummer of Cream and Blind Faith. He passed away on Oct. 6 and will be terribly missed
Rick Ocasek of The Cars passed away at 75
-On Sept. 15, the world lost Ric Ocasek, who had passed away in his sleep. His estranged wife Paulina Porizkova had discovered the body only a few weeks after going in for some light surgery. Although later on, the cause of death was said to be hypertensive and atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. What I think may have been more shocking, especially to his estranged wife, was that she was cut completely out of the will Ocasek had drawn up. When he died, she got nothing. So obviously the divorce did not end well.
Eddie Money passes away at 70
-The legendary singer behind hits like "Baby, Hold On", "Take Me Home Tonite", "Two Tickets to Paradise", has passed away from stage four throat cancer. He died on Sept. 13. His cancer was so severe that he simply did not catch it in time. When he did catch it, it was already at stage 4 and had metastasized to his stomach and liver.
Other musicians who departed
-In addition to the vast array of musicians who have left us, let's give some love to others who have died. Peter Tork of The Monkees died in February at age 77. Talk Talk front man Mark Hollis died the same month at 64. March also had some losses. Scott Walker died at age 76. Dick Dale died at age 81. Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter died in September at age 78. .38 Special bassist and Lynyrd Skynyrd co-founder Larry Junstrom died in October at age 70. Little Feat guitarist Paul Barrere died in October at 71
Doobie Brothers reunite with Michael McDonald
-Doobie Brothers fans: you are about to hear GREAT NEWS!! The Doobie Brothers, that is right, you are reading this right, are reuniting with Michael McDonald. A 2020 world tour is in the works. So if you are a fan, start doing major research to see if they are coming to a town near you. This will be the first album with McDonald since the mid 1990s, when they were first nominated for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. From June 9-Oct. 17 of 2020 is when their tour is said to last
Bohemian Rhapsody wins big at the Oscars
-The movie revolves around how legendary rockers Queen got their start. The movie had mixed reviews. Out of the five categories it was nominated in, it won four. So it was a big night for the surviving members of Queen and the actors and actresses who appeared in the movie. Rami Malek took home the statue for Best Actor for his role of Freddie Mercury. The movie also took home awards for Best Sound Editing, Best Sound Mixing and Best Film Editing. It lost Best Picture to Green Book

Motley Crue back on tour
-So much for retirement. That certainly took a flying leap out the window. They had only been retired for five years but now there is a video showing all four original members destroying their contracts. They announced they would be doing a stadium tour with Def Leppard, Poison and Joan Jett in 2020. They all stated that the reason they want to take up touring again is because of the release of the Netflix biopic The Dirt and a serious rise in popularity of their music, being both bought on CDs and downloaded from music sites.
The film Yesterday sees a world with out The Beatles
-The premise of the film Yesterday is about an Anglo-Indian musician (Himesh Patel) who is able to remember and know everything about The Beatles. But trying to convince everyone else is a whole other story. He manages to pass off the music as his own and becomes an overnight celebrity. Ed Sheeran appears in the movie, as himself and ends up becoming the aspiring musician's friend. But, of course, the lie he carries and the newfound fame take a toll on himself and his relationships with his close friend and manager, he has to decide what is more important. The movie managed to rake in $151 million at the box office. Most likely, a good percentage of those sales were from Beatles fans
The Dirt appears on Netflix
-The title of the movie stems from a biopic book about how Motley Crue got started. The film included 14 songs from Crue's varied career, including a cover of Madonna's "Like a Virgin". In the film, rapper Machine Gun Kelly plays Tommy Lee.

Iron Maiden may have completed their 17th studio album

Yes, you're reading this right. Iron Maiden, who have since completed their 2015 album The Book of Souls and are right now touring under the name The Legacy of the Beast, which references a video game centered around all things Iron Maiden and Eddie, may have secretly completed their 17th studio album, as yet to be named.
Longtime producer Kevin Shirley revealed on his Facebook account, while working in Paris that he was "working very hard on an annoyed but not-very-secret project, and that he'd finished with a loud ringing in my ears." The post included a photo of Guillame Tell Studios, where Iron Maiden recorded their 2000 Brave New World album and 2015 The Book of Souls album

Internet gossip site Blabbermouth recently stated that in the summer of 2019, Maiden vocalist Bruce Dickinson reportedly told a California audience "New Iron Maiden songs sooner than you think." Later on, in Nashville, he reported that a new LP was a "certainty".

Shirley explained to MusicRadar in 2010, he was the producer on every Maiden album, starting with 2000 Brave New World. He explained that there is a certain challenge to working with "heritage acts, some of whom have lost their way, and helping them find their magic and that initial spark that made them great in the first place. The trick, for me, is to make them feel like they're 19 again. … The way I like to work, I try to capture spirit and spontaneity. … I’m very much involved in the crafting of an album. Just because you read interviews with Journey or Iron Maiden or whoever and they'll say, 'We just went in a room and banged it out in 10 minutes,' well, that's not always the way it comes about. I spend a lot of time working on this stuff, and there's a certain art to it"

Halloween (1978)

My all time favorite scary movie!
Summary
-Michael Myers was only 10 years old when he murdered his sister on Halloween night in 1963. After spending most of his life in a state hospital, he escapes, returns to Haddonfield, Illinois to kill once more

Cast
-Donald Pleasance: Dr. Sam Loomis
-Jamie Lee Curtis: Laurie Strode
-Nancy Kyles: Annie Brackett
-P.J. Soles: Lynda
-Charles Cyphers: Sheriff Brackett
-Kyle Richards: Lindsey
-Brian Andrews: Tommy Doyle
-John Michael Graham: Bob
-Arthur Malet: Graveyard Keeper
-Mickey Yablans: Richie
-Brent Le Page: Lonnie
-Tony Moran: Michael Myers (age 23)
-Nick Castle: Michael Myers
-Will Sandin: Michael Myers (age 10)

Did You Know?
-Director John Carpenter had hired Jamie Lee Curtis as a way of paying respect to Alfred Hitchcock, who had hired Janet Leigh, Jamie Lee Curtis' mother, to play the lead in Psycho
-Out of all the female roles in this movie, since they were supposed to be of high school age, Jamie Lee Curtis was the only one who was actually a teenager at the time. She was 19
-The movie is based on an experience that John Carpenter had when he was touring a state mental hospital during college. He encountered a child who had stared at him "with a look of evil and it terrified me".
-This film was shot in only 20 days in 1978 with a budget of $300,000. It ended up becoming the highest-grossing movie ever made
-P.J. Soles had gotten her role as Lynda after John Carpenter had seen her in the 1976 Brian De Palma film Carrie
-The mostly dark lighting comes from the fact that the crew did not have enough money for more lights
-Donald Pleasance mentioned in an interview that the reason he did the role of Dr. Sam Loomis is because his daughter Lucy loved Carpenter's score on the film Assault on Precinct 13 (1976)
-Will Sandin, who played 10 year old Michael Myers, went on to become a police officer in Los Angeles
-Some of the actors considered for the role of Dr. Sam Loomis included Abe Vigoda, Kris Kristofferson, Charles Napier, Sterling Hayden. The role, of course, went to veteran British actor Donald Pleasance
-All the actors provided their own clothing since there was no money for a costume department. Jamie Lee Curtis went to a local JC Penney and spent only $100 for her character Laurie Strode's clothing
-Tommy Lee Wallace, one of the production designers, was told by director John Carpenter to find a "government-looking" car to be the one Michael drove around in. Luckily, there was a nearby rental-car company that had a 1976 Ford LTD that looked perfect. He hired it for two weeks, installing a wire mesh barrier between the front and back seats and putting Illinois state decals on it. The rental-car company had no idea their car was being used for a movie

Day 17-Recent Dreams?

Nothing I can think of at this particular moment.

Day 16-Something You're Afraid Of

This should be simple
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

I HATE SPIDERS!!!!

Simply put, I am afraid of spiders!! Growing up the house me and my sister lived in in Bellevue, KY, the house was old. I mean like World War II-era old. In fact, tied to the gas pipe in the basement of the house was an old red tag talking about enemy bombing, which I can only assume means the Japanese. Anyway, I HATE SPIDERS!! I am scared to death of them. What really stinks is that the house I lived in for the first 20 years of my life always had at least one spider or two in the garage that somehow made it into the house. One time, our dad called the Poison Control Center about a suspicious looking spider on the outside of the house. He described it as a brown-looking spider with some sort of marking on its back. The center told him to back away quickly as it was one of the world's most deadly spiders, the brown recluse spider. My dad asked how to dispose of it and they told him to contact an exterminator to get rid of them. So, after paying $200 to exterminate the house for any other little eight legged deadlies running around, we were good. But still, the sight of spiders makes me tense and cringe. What is also scary is that when my stepdad was at his mother's house one time, he was leaving and saw a black widow spider coming down from the roof. He knew it was the deadly one because he saw the red hour glass. He took a baseball bat to it and killed it. It seems like everywhere I go there are the eight legged fear inducers I hate. If I see a black spider, I automatically go into panic mode, thinking it is a black widow or if I see a brown spider, I start looking for a fiddle-shaped mark on the back, a strong sign of a brown recluse!!

Day 15-Something That Has Happened to You

I'm not really even sure what to put here. But, here goes...
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

Something that happened to me, I suppose, is when me and my sister were younger and still living with our dad in Bellevue, KY, we were watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey on DVD. It was near the holidays and our tradition was that we always watch Christmas movies around the holidays. We still do it, except it's mostly my sister and mom considering we live with her and our stepdad and I work 12-13 hour days ever since Nov. 25. Anyway, we were watching that holiday movie when we hear the door start rattling, as if someone was trying to turn it. The screen door opened and we knew it was opened because it squeaked. Our dad looked through the peephole and seen someone trying to open the door. He scared them away by turning on the porch light. After they scattered like roaches to the light, he called the police. The office told our dad that a lot of people on our block have been noticing suspicious people hanging in the large field and copse of woods behind our houses, most likely scoping them out for break-ins and robberies. A neighbor up the street had his garage broken into and a lot of expensive power tools stolen from him. He said he needed them since his job was to fix up houses for real estate agencies to re-sell. After that, we started leaving the porch light on, to say that someone is home. That's at least what the police told us. Even over here in Delhi Township, a small part of Cincinnati, OH, that's what we do. We leave the porch light on because our stepdad works second shift and comes home late. We also want people to know that someone is home.

Day 14-Something You Wish Didn't Exist

This will be simple
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

Racism
-I HATE RACISM!! I grew up learning to be tolerant of everyone who was different. I was taught, along with my sister, to treat others as we would want to be treated. We just can't find it in ourselves to treat someone bad simply because they are of another skin color/race/ethnicity/culture. We both have friends and coworkers who come from different cultures and we both love it. Why do people have to hate someone simply because of skin color/race/religion/language/ethnicity or more? I would love to see the day when we all stop hating one another simply for being different

Greed
-Last time I checked, I'm not overly, beat the Bible-level religious, but isn't greed one of the Seven Deadly Sins? I hate being greedy. That's why I'm not. Me and my sister learned to be good with our money. Don't live beyond your means. If you can't afford it, you don't need it. Sure you can want it all you want, but that's not going to make the money appear in your pocket. Budget. Spend money on the important stuff first-bills. Then you can spoil yourself if you want to. Our mom and stepdad are very thankful we are good with our money. We always and I mean ALWAYS help our parents with money whenever they need. They need a little help paying for a new AC system or furnace? We're there to help. They have good paying jobs, but sometimes things come up that require finances beyond their means. They are thankful we are not greedy and live like we're millionaires [snickering, you're kidding right?] We'll never see a million bucks in a thousand lifetimes unless we play the lottery. And even in those situations, the people who win always live like it's their last day and they go broke in no time. I do not like people being greedy. Besides, me and my sister have plans for our money. Occasionally, me and my sister will take mini vacations. For example, every year, me and her go down to Lexington, Kentucky for Scarefest, a Halloween/horror-themed convention. And when we are not going there, we are going to Columbus, OH for a concert or going to other cities nearby to see the sights.

-It gets worse at Christmas time, when commercials showing people buying expensive cars like Lexus, Jaguars, etc, expensive technology like Apple iPhones, iPads, drones, $80+ animatronic Hatchimal toys, etc for adults and kids. That kind of stuff annoys me about Christmas. When it comes to Christmas, me and my sister usually ask for small stuff. Like for example, this year all I really want is a toy net for my overload of Beanie Babies. I love Beanie Babies and stuffed animals (yeah, it might sound like I'm a kid, but I love plush animals. Don't judge, rofl). All my sister wants for Christmas is electronic drumsticks that when you move them, it sounds like you're playing the drums. In her case, it would be like she is Tre Cool, the drummer from her all-time favorite band Green Day

Day 13-Something You Wish You Could Have Done Differently

This will be short
https://never3nding.tumblr.com/post/2660644142/tumblr-30-day-challenge

I simply wish I could have never gone to college. I should have known it was going to be a failure, but I wanted to try it to see if I could hack it. I thought I did fairly well, going to a small community college for graphic design. I did fairly well in almost all of the classes except for Package Design. It was taught by a woman who worked at P&G (Procter & Gamble), a very large company based right here in Cincinnati. She told me all sorts of nasty things. Here are some of the things she told ME "You need to do yourself a favor and quit while you're ahead" "Your skills just suck" "You're horrible with deadlines. You don't even have a proper laptop like everyone else" "You are wasting not only my time, which is very valuable to me and your classmates who actually want to learn, but you're wasting your time as well" "If you go for an interview at a graphic design firm, they will not only tell you that you are wasting your time, but they will tell you that you are wasting their time and they will laugh you right out of the building".

Because of that, I lost what little confidence I had in something I could try and do. After that class, I dropped out in 2011 and have been working ever since to pay back the student loan. I have had it paid off for the last four years. I should known I was too ignorant for college. I had no issues at all with the general education classes. I aced those with straight A's. It was just the course mentioned above I had issue with. Other than that, all the other course classes were fun and easy
