Gotta Love 60s TV

Here are some of the popular shows of this decade:

The 60s seemed like a popular decade for Westerns, and also British TV, such as Steptoe and Son, and Doctor Who. It's already sad when I can safely say I've seen most of these shows before and I wasn't even born in this decade, although my mom says I should have!

-Gunsmoke

-Wagon Train

-Have Gun, Will Travel

-The Andy Griffith Show

-The Real McCoys

-Rawhide

-Candid Camera

-The Untouchables

-The Price Is Right

-The Jack Benny Program

-Ironside

-Peyton Place

-Hogan's Heroes

-The Benny Hill Show

-Monty Python's Flying Circus

-The Brady Bunch

-The Fugitive

-Doctor Who

-Gilligan's Island

-Columbo

-Steptoe and Son(American version- Sanford and Son). Yeah, Steptoe and Son is a British comedy

-Shindig. In the fall 1965 premier from London, the episodes featured up and coming British artists of that decade, such as The Kinks, The Rolling Stones, The Byrds, The Everly Brothers, The Who

-The Carol Burnett Show. Love this one too, way too funny, love it!

-The Twilight Zone. Love this one too. There are a few episodes I like, one of them is an episode where these people wear masks to make them ugly and a girl who is pretty but wakes up from surgery in a world  of ugly people with pig like faces.

-Family Affair

Haunted New York and Other States

New York

Baldwinsville
-Whiskey Hollow: 5 mile road with no houses or street lights. Just forest. Back then, devil worshippers and the KKK wouls worship and kill children as sacrifices there. If you stand on the banks of the pond on a spot where an upside down car is in the water, you can see a phantom car falling off the cliff and sinking into the water. Back in the 1970s, a car with 2 teens in it mistakenly drove off the side and overturned. They were not found for 2 weeks. You get cold feelings, in addition to witnessing a phantom car overturning. Also in the 1970s, children were abducted, raped and murdered in the woods. People say they hear screams and crying, they see the children walking the path looking for their parents or killer.
North Carolina

Haunted Nevada and Other States

Nevada

Tonopah
-Silver Rim Elementary School: teachers working late at night would often have feelings of someone watching them, ehar rapping noises and one teacher saw a ghost of a man. In Sept. 1903, there was a Chinese race riot. The local labor union decided to run all the Chinese people out of town. Hillsboro
-Bear Hill Road: there is a very old house on this road that the local kids call "The Plague House". A long time ago, when people became infected with the plague virus or any other incurable disease, they were taken to this hosue and left to die. They were buried so deep in the ground that animals could not get to them and spread the virus further, because when they got the bodies out, they would contract the plague and die where they stood. Nowadays, there is a spirit there called the White Ghost, it will come around when you do.

Nashua
-Gilson Road Cemetery: there have numerous reports about 'misty people'. If you walk from the entrance to the middle, it's said you feel like you're wading in water. If you park across the street, your car will feel like it's being pushed back from the cemetery. Stand at the perimeter and you can hear voices from the back, right hand corner. On several occasions, a black hooded figure has been seen, almost like Death waiting for you.
New Jersey

Bernardsville
-Long Road/Devil's Tree: if you turn on Long Road and make a left at the end, you'll come to a large wooded area that opens onto a field. At the end of the field is a hideous tree with a branch that runs perfectly parallel to the ground. Legend has it that the tree was used to hang slaves. Cedarville
-Newport/In the Woods: in the woods on Back Road, there is a tree that was frequently used by the KKK(Seriously, why do they keep showing up, wtf?) If you go there, you can see rope burn on the branches, and hear footsteps and if you're there long enough, you can witness a ghostly hanging.

Marlboro
-Marlboro Mental Institution: there are numerous reports of a rotting smell and whistling noise, feelings of being followed. Rumor has it that it was a slaughterhouse once operated on the grouns and the state wanted to take over to build a mental hospital on the grounds. People can hear cows mooing, pigs dying, overall, very creepy
Quinton/Bridgeton
-Berry's Chapel: Berry was a black man who was a pastor who was hung by the KKK(ok, seriously, why do they have to involve themselves on paranormal stuff. I'm seriously not surprised by these racists!!). The Chapel was built in the days of the Civil War and it burned down in the early 1960s. The nearby graveyard was beginning to decay from kids using it as a party spot and skulls began appearing in the main party spot.
West Milford
-Passaic County/Clinton Road: very scary road. It has KKK sightings, Nazi meetings, haunted dogs, an old lady who walks on the same side you're driving on, and a creepy castle. Haunted Minnesota and Other States

Minnesota

Faribault
-Shattuck/St. Mary's: this was an abandoned infirmary from 1861. It was originally a ski lodge. It housed sick and dying kids with all sorts of incurable diseases until 1912. There were also crazy Civil War vets and victims of horrible epidemics. Due to the high levels of asbestos in the buildings, they were closed, but people still to this day claim they see sickening looking people with boils, rashes, raw openings in the upper floors.
Mississippi

Meridian
-Stucky's Bridge: during the 180s, there was a man named Stucky who would let travelers in the night stay at his house. While they slept, he would rob them and bury them in the ground along the riverbank. Late at night, you can hear splashed where the rope he used to hang him was cut and you can hear his body splashing into the water below. There is also a spot that glows, suggesting that is where his body is. And if lucky enough, you can catch a glimpse of him hanging from the bridge or see something on the bridge.
Missouri

Auxvasse
-9 Mile Bridge: a long time ago, black women were hung here and black children were drowned here. If you shut off your car on the bridge, near the church or cemetery and start it up again, it makes funny noises. When you sit on the ledge of the bridge and take your shoes off and dangle your feet above the creek, you can feel a weird tickling on your feet. That's the slave children tickling your feet. You can see weird lights that look like sets of eyes that appear every now and then under the bridge, in the trees along the creek, and in the cemetery on the hill near the creek. If you go on an especially dark night, stop your car on the bridge, roll down the windows, you can hear what sounds like running water. You can also hear what sounds like footsteps in the weeds and leaves. When you return to your car, you might see handprints/footprints on your car.
Excelsior Springs
-Wolf Hollow: there is an old abandoned house along this road. When you approach it, you get shivers and chills. This is where the KKK(not surprised they keep showing up, huh? dang racists!!!!) would hang the black people they tortured. You can sometimes see things like clothes hanging from the line there.
Leeper
Leeper Mansion: this place has a VERY morbid history. Leeper was a carpetbagger in the Civil War times who used to beat, shoot and hang the black people he just didn't like who came in on the newly built railroad. When he was dying, he was tied down because he kept saying demons were coming for him. There are reports of lights going on/off, strange noises coming from his room.
Richland
-Joe's Cave: in the early 1900s, a black man named Joe was accused of raping a white woman. He said "God would prove I didn't do it." He survived the electric chair, but a group of vigilantes went beyond the call of duty by taking him to a cave where he was tarred, feathered, and hung with barbed wire in one of the larger rooms in the back of the cave. He was a fiddle player and after dinner every night, he would sit on his porch and play his fiddle. If you go to the cave around dark, you can hear him playing up a storm on his fiddle.

Montana

Deer Lodge
-Old Montana Prison: this was used throughout the 1800s, until more recent prisoners were moved to the new prison in 1979-1980. This place held the most brutal outlaws. The gallows room has a cold presence and many strange noises. The hole is a sub-chambered room that's intensely cold and has about 4-5 cells, one in particular, first one on the left, is very cold and has a foul odor and a VERY evil, threatening presence known to push people back up the stairs.
Nebraska

Omaha
-Hummel Park: there is a city park on the northern outskirts called Hummel Park. The background for this park is scary and macabre to begin with, because in the early 1900s, lynch mobs would ride through the town and mutilate any black people they saw or hang them. There were so many black people that were hung that the trees on the road leading to Hummel Park are bowed over. The strange thing is that new grass and trees all lean towards the road outside the park and even in the park.  At night, you can hear Indian drums playing, wolves howling, see ghosts.

Haunted Louisiana and Other States

Louisiana

Arcadia

New Orleans
-The Morgue Bar/Lounge: was once a mortuary during the massive Yellow Fever epidemic that swept Louisiana, taking 10,000 people from New Orleans with it. It was built in 1849, the most known haunting here is that of the mortician's daughter, who would steal from the dead. Still today, she 'borrows' from unsuspecting ladies in the women's room, which is exactly where the bodies were kept. The bar has a sense of humor as wel, it's trademark cocktail is called Embalming Fluid and it looks eerily like the real thing.

Maine

Lancaster
-Blood Town Forest: back in the 1970s, kids used to go camping out here. One night a girl and guy went camping and when the girl was setting up camp, the guy needed to get something from the car and when he got back, the girl's head was resting on the hood of the car. He ran to a nearby farmer's house to call the cops. When they arrived, they found the body of the guy next to her. Today, farmers chase kids out of the area and at the beginning, there is a rock that tells the entire story.

Maryland

Fort Meade
-NTC DET DINFOS Navy Student Center: 3 years ago, legend has it that there were experiments being done on soldiers to turn them in to "super soldiers" with the use of drugs like LSD, Acid, mixed drugs, etc. The next day, the buildings were destroyed. There was a cold storage building where the bodies from different experiments(experiments with nerve gas, different agents, diseases) would be kept. To this day, loud noises are heard, banging noises, people walking around and people talking
Hagerstown
-Rose Hill Cemetery: if you go all the way to the back of the cemetery and go to the crematorium,, shut your car off, you can hear screams and smell burning hair

Westminster
-Crybaby Bridge: an old bridge from the 1800s. It was used by the KKK back then to drown black babies. At night, you can hear babies crying
Massachusetts

Allston
-West End Boys and Girls Club: this was primarily a Jewish men's club to come and exercise. Ghosts of these older men still hang around with the teens. There are unexplained splashes and bubbles in the pool, showers turning on/off by themselves, locker doors opening by themselves.

Belchertown
-State School: this used to be a mental institution that had very cruel and unfair treatment of it's patients. 2 of the patients here fell in love, and back then it was considered morally wrong for 2 people with low intelligence to fall in love and marry, they were also kept away from each other, so they would sneak out at night and leave each other love letters and whisper to each other. At night, you can see them running between the dorms. One of the buildings has been converted into a teen skate park, and at night, it's said you can see the ghosts lingering between the buildings. Windows break, cold spots, doors slamming shut, hearing crying, and screaming and moaning near the men's sleeping quarters, the tunnel system under the buildings has lights going on/off by themselves even with no power, and the swing set nearby moves by itself. It gives you an overall sickening feeling.
Boston
-Charlesgate: started out as a hotel of ill repute, then became a dorm for Emerson College. Now, being sold as condos. This place is haunted by ghostly flappers, drug-addicted men, and an old man with a beard. In the basement, where the horses were kept, ghostly white horses are seen
Chinatown
-Chinese School: there is a ghost of an old woman in the basement floors. She's said to be a smiling, hunchbacked woman washing her hands in the downstairs bathroom. In total darkness she's seen, but when the lights go on, she's gone!
-Tai Tung Village/Mural: on certain nights, especially when all is calm and quiet, you can feel cold shivers when you look at the mural. If you stare at the right corner for a while, you see something emerging from the painting in the form of an old man or child.
North Andover
-Merrimack College/Ash Hall: there is a mysterious fire ghost who roams the halls. He wears a charred and blackened fireman's uniform and carries an axe. During the night, a fire alarm may sound, sending the kids out into the night. While outside, they may see him in the various windows while waiting for trucks to arrive. When they get the all clear and go back in, they find a scent like a burnt out, smoldering campfire, and they see traces of ash and soot on handrails and doorknobs, despite no flame being seen.
Michigan

Luce County
Newberry/Angel Lake: once upon a time there was a slaughterhouse down by the lake. Before the slaughterhouse took over, it was a house of prostitution. When the ladies would become pregnant, they would force an abortion or miscarry and throw the fetuses into the lake. The reason for the name is because the area is haunted by the spirits of the dead babies.

Traverse City
-Traverse City State Hospital/The Hippie Tree: there is a rumor about a gate to hell being open near 'the hippie tree'. Strange feelings here. Trespassers are not allowed, as there is a security service here that will escort you off the premises if you are found here.

Hellraiser

This is one of my biggest favorite scary movies! Although when I was younger, and watched it, it scared the hell out of me, no pun intended!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellraiser
-Made in 1987
-It's an American and British horror movie.
-This movie explores the world of sadomasochism or S&M, morality under stress and fear.
-Was #19 on the Bravo channel's 100 Scariest Movie Moments

Plot
-Somewhere in Morocco,  Frank Cotton(Sean Chapman) buys an antique puzzle box from a dealer. Back in the attic of his home in London, Frank solves the puzzle box, prompting hooked chains to emerge from it and tear him to bloody bits. Monsters, called Cenobites, suddenly appear and inspect the remains, arranging the pieces together of Frank's face. Their leader, Pinhead(Doug Bradley) picks up the box and twists it back to it's original position, taking with them the remains of Frank back to their realm

-Sometime later, Frank's brother Larry(Andrew Robinson) arrives at the house along with his 2nd wife Julia(Claire Higgins) who previously had an affair with Frank. The couple know Frank as a devoted hedonist and petty criminal, and assuming he is in jail, decide to move in. Larry's teen daughter, Kirsty Cotton(Ashley Laurence) chooses not to live with her stepmother and moves into her own place. While moving into the attic, Larry cuts his hand on a nail and drips blood onto the floor. The blood somehow reaches Frank in his prison in the Cenobite realm and it partially restores him, allowing him to escape to the attic.
L-R: Butterball, Pinhead, female Cenobite, Chatterer

-That night, Julia finds Frank(now played by Oliver Smith) in the attic; still obsessed with him after their affair. She agrees to get blood for him to fully restore himself so they can run away together. The next day, Julia begins picking up men in bars and bringing them back to the house, where she murders them with a hammer to the head. Frank consumes their blood and internal organs, regenerating his own body. Once strong enough, Frank explains to Julia that he had exhausted all his sensory experiences and sought out the puzzle box on the promise it would open a portal to a realm of new carnal pleasures. Instead he opened a portal to the realm of the Cenobites, who have taken Frank prisoner and subjected him to extreme, sadomasochistic torture.

-Meanwhile, Kirsty sees Julia bringing men into the house and thinking she is having another affair, follows her to the attic one afternoon where she interrupts a murder. Frank attacks her, but panics when Kirsty grabs the puzzle box. She throws it out the window, proving enough of a distraction for her to escape. Outside, she gets the box and runs away, but collapses from exhaustion shortly after. After being taken to the hospital, she solves the puzzle box, summoning the Cenobites. Pinhead explains that while the Ceonbites have been perceived as Angels and Demons, they are simply explorers of carnal experience, practicing a form of S&M so extreme that it pushes the boundary between pleasure and pain. Although they initially attempt to force her to return with it to their realm, Pinhead becomes angry at the idea that one of his "subjects" has escaped and agrees to free Kirsty in exchange for taking them to Frank
-She returns home, where Larry tells her that he has confronted and killed Frank. Larry shows her a bloodied corpse in the attic, but his language and manner lead her to believe that Frank has killed her father and is now wearing his skin like a suit. Frank chases Kirsty through the house with a knife, accidentally killing Julia in the process. He finally corners Kirsty in the attic, where he brags about killing his brother. The confession summons the Cenobites, who trap him with chains and in the words of Pinhead "will tear your soul apart". They attempt to back out on their deal and take Kirsty to their realm. Kirsty's boyfriend Steve arrives and looks for her. She defeats the cenobites by reversing the motions needed to open the box and it sends them back to their realm. She and her boyfriend leave the house together.

-Later on, she tries to burn the box in a garbage dump. A vagrant enters the flames and gets the box before turning into a winged creature and flies away. The film ends with the box back in the hands of the merchant who sold it initially, asking another prospective buyer "What's your pleasure, sir?"

Did You Know?
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0093177/trivia
-It took 6 hours to get the prosthetic Pinhead makeup on Doug Bradley
-The character Pinhead was not supposed to have a grid on his head, but makeup artists used it to distribute the pins evenly and Clive Barker loved it, so it was left in
-In the scene where Frank is being spun around upside down covered in blood was a camera test for the film. Afterwards, Sean Chapman(Frank) could not stop throwing up
