Juke Box Jury

-Based on the American show Jukebox Jury
-Throughout it's run, it featured celebrity guests on a rotating weekly panel judging the hit potential of recent releases

Format
-Took a format where a guest panel reviewed new record releases in a 25 minute program.
-David Jacobs hosted it and asked 4 celebs each week to judge newly released records. The song would be declared a 'hit' or 'miss'

History
-First broadcasted on June 1, 1959
-Moved to Sept. 3, 1959 due to it's immediate popularity
-Original panel consisted of Pete Murray, Alma Coogan, Gary Miller and Susan Stranks. Frequent 'jurors' included Katie Boyle and Cilla Black. There were also other entertainers who appeared on the show, such as:  Thoraa Hird, Alfred Hitchcock, Spike Milligan, Lonnie Donnegan, Johnny Mathis, Roy Orbison, David McCallum
-On Dec. 7, 1963, the panel was all 4 members of The Beatles.
-On July 4, 1964, the panel consisted of all 5 members of The Rolling Stones
