-Gone through several drummers over the years. Scott Travis has held the job of drummer since 1989.
-Being a definitive heavy metal band has earned them the nickname "Metal Gods"
-Got their name from the Bob Dylan song "The Ballad of Frankie Lee and Judas Priest"
-Known for a twin lead guitar style, Rob Halford's wide vocal style, and introducing the S&M leather and studs look into heavy metal.
History
-K.K. Downing, Ian Hill and John Ellis knew each other since early childhood growing up on the Yew Tree estate in West Bromwich.
-In 1973, Ian Hill was dating a woman from nearby town of Walsall who suggested her brother, Rob Halford, be a possible consideration for lead singer. He joined the band, bringing drummer John Hinch from his previous band, Hiroshima.
-In September 1990, their album Painkiller used a new drummer, Scott Travis.
-Part of the magic of a Judas Priest concert came from Rob Halford riding onto the stage on a Harley Davidson motorcycle, dressed in motorcycle gear and sunglasses.
-In a 1998 MTV interview, Halford revealed his homosexuality, which was not a suprise to many fans
-From June-August of 2009, the band went on a North American tour to celebrate the anniversary of their album British Steel.
