-Born and raised in Arlington, Virginia to parents who recently emigrated from Korea
-In his teens, he lived with his grandfather, a Korean Tae Kwon Do master in San Francisco
-Also became an accomplished martial artist, winning an athletic scholarship to the University of California at Berkley.
-While in school, he worked at the East Bay Asian Youth Centre teaching high risk teens
-He started to become interested in acting, thus landing him a role on Nash Bridges
-In 2002, he was voted by People Magazine as 1 of their 50 Most Beautiful People. This led to him getting roles in movies such as Die Another Day, Torque and Elektra. The roles he had were high profile, meaning he was almost on the same level as a leading actor/actress.
-In November 2007, he appeared in People Magazine again, this time in their list of the 15 Sexiest Men Alive. And most recently, he appeared on the 2010 rendition of Hawaii Five-O, playing an Asian gangster named Sang Min. He is also to star in a movie alongside Miguel Ferrer called Far Away Eyes

I'm a girl born in the wrong decade. I belong in the 1960s or the 1970s in my opinion. I bleed tie dye, my theme music is anything 1960s rock or 1970s rock or metal. I'm a hippie through and through. But also a hippie who loves old metal music. I believe that violence never solves anything, so why resort to it to solve problems? With all the wars the world has seen, there should be a clue somewhere in there!
