-The first Muppet movie where Kermit's voice was not done by Jim Henson. He had died later. Steve Whitmire did the voice
-The first major Muppets movie after Jim Henson's death
-In the movie, there is a store called "Micklewhite". This is a referene to actor Michael Caine's real name, Maurice Mickelwhite

-Towards the end, there is a bar with the name "Statler and Waldorf", named after the Muppet hecklers

-Michael Caine considers his role as Scrooge to be his most memorable one yet
-Ben Moody, David Warner, George Carlin and David Hemmings were all considered for the role of Scrooge until Michael Caine won the role
-Jacob  and Robert Marley and the wailing cash boxes is a nod of respect to Bob Marley and the Wailers
