The Muppet Christmas Carol

My favorite Christmas movie!!

The Muppet Christmas Carol
-A retelling of the classic Charles Dickens novel, only this time with... The Muppets! Ebenezer Scrooge is an almost evil man working in Victorian London. The Muppets play various characters throughout the movie. And unless the Christmas Ghosts can get Scrooge to change his ways, the future looks bleak

-Michael Caine: Ebenezer Scrooge
-Dave Goelz: The Great Gonzo as Charles Dickens, Dr. Bunsen Honeydew, Betina Cratchit
-Steve Whitmire: Kermit the Frog as Bob Cratchet, Rizzo the Rat, Beaker, Bean Bunny, Belinda Cratchit
-Jerry Nelson: Tiny Tim, Jacob Marley, Ghost of Christmas Present, Lew Zealand
-Frank Oz: Miss Piggy as Emily Cratchit, Fozzie Bear as Fozziewig, Sam the Eagle as Headmaster of Junior High Graduates, Animal
-David Rudman: Peter Cratchit, Old Joe, Swedish Chef
-Jessica Fox: Ghost of Christmas Past(voice)
-Don Austen: Ghost of Christmas Present(Performer), Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come(Performer)
-Steven Mackintosh: Fred, Scrooge's nephew
-Meredith Bruan: Belle
-Robin Weaver: Clara

Did You Know?
-The first Muppet movie where Kermit's voice was not done by Jim Henson. He had died later. Steve Whitmire did the voice
-The first major Muppets movie after Jim Henson's death
-In the movie, there is a store called "Micklewhite". This is a referene to actor Michael Caine's real name, Maurice Mickelwhite

-Towards the end, there is a bar with the name "Statler and Waldorf", named after the Muppet hecklers

-Michael Caine considers his role as Scrooge to be his most memorable one yet
-Ben Moody, David Warner, George Carlin and David Hemmings were all considered for the role of Scrooge until Michael Caine won the role
-Jacob  and Robert Marley and the wailing cash boxes is a nod of respect to Bob Marley and the Wailers

-Michael Caine did all of his own singing in the movie
