Beauty and the Beast

Beauty and the Beast
Summary
-Unsatisfied with life in a small French town, Belle, a local girl, constantly feigns off the unwanted attraction of an arrogant man named Gaston, who the local girls are completely head over heels for. Meanwhile, there is a beast who was once a prince. Prince Adam was put under a spell because of his arrogance. He was told the only way to break the spell was to learn to love someone and earn her love before the last petal of his blessed rose falls, which would be on his 21st birthday

Did You Know?
-In the French release, Cogsworth's name is actually Big Ben, which everyone knows as the giant clock tower in Central London. The landmark's real, proper name is The Clock Tower of the Palace of Westminster. Big Ben simply refers to the largest bell in the tower
-Julie Andrews was considered for the role and voice of Mrs. Potts, because of her regal behavior
-Jerry Orbach, who voiced Lumiere, paid a tribute to French actor/singer Maurice Chevalier by doing the voice with a French accent
-The role of Cogsworth was written with John Cleese in mind
