That's right, 31 years ago yesterday is the anniversary of when Ozzy Osbourne was arrested by San Antonio police for urinating on the side wall of the Alamo
On Feb. 19, 1982, Ozzy Osbourne, known for being the front man of British metal band Black Sabbath, was intoxicated, somehow wearing a dress belonging to his girlfriend/manager Sharon Arden and felt nature calling. He went on a statue, and at all times of day, it was midday, with all kinds of people around. The statue he went on was of the Alamo Cenotaph, which honors the brave Texans who gave their lives during the War of Independence in 1836. This, to all Texans, is considered to be a massive symbol of Texas pride. I know it's not funny to laugh at something like this, but you can't help but laugh a little. He took a leak on a statue, kinda funny when you think about it, lol!!
He was arrested by San Antonio police for public intoxication and public urination. He was released on $40 bond, but the show that he and Black Sabbath were due to perform at that night, the HemisFair, was ruined by fans who rioted by throwing rocks because they were unable to get into the sold-out concert. These 2 events caused Osbourne to be banned from San Antonio by the city council, but he was later forgiven for this because he donated $10,000 to the Daughters of the Republic of Texas, 10 years later in 1992.
